Nights in Shanghai is an audio drama series exploring an alt-history world changed forever by German victory in the Great War. This series is based on the world of ‘Kaiserreich’, the world's most popular fan-built alt-history universe. In the world of Kaiserreich, Germany and her central Powers allies win the Great War, leading to the collapse of the British and French colonial empires. In their place, empires new and old have brokered a fragile balance of power in a China perpetually on the brink of war.
In Shanghai, the opium dens and gambling houses are always packed. Backroom deals and corruption run rampant. Key among the underground machinery of the so-called ‘Legation Cities’ are compradors: Free agents, fixers, and accomplices from various international backgrounds. The greatest among them is an American from parts unknown, a man known as Frank Duncan…

Frankly speaking,the Mandarin pronunciation is quite authentic
The writing you guys produce is so consistently fantastic, not just in lore and world-building but in dynamic, genre appropriate dialogue.
One of the areas of the history of the Second World War (in our timeline) I know the least about is China, and this series has actually sparked my interest in the period to the point that I’m going to start filling that rather gaping hole in my knowledge.

@@danelassiter6809, they're mostly chilling as an American puppet until the US tears itself to pieces. Then all bets are off on who's in charge in Manila.
Ironically, by diving deep into the Kaiserreich lore and research through the prominent characters in the mod by comparing them in KR lore and OTL, you'd get a much clearer understanding about the turmoil of China between 1911-1949 than by just studying the overly propagandized "official" history written by either KMT or CCP.

@@thatrandomguyontheinternet2477 While the projects share similarites, we do not consider NiS a direct prequel to TDS. Mostly because NiS is pretty much 100% lore-compliant, being pre-1936, and TDS plays it more fast and loose with the content and tech

I ans i think a lot of people here, are here for the lore of kaiserech and those videos are really good but it feels like i am getting spammed by shit content i mean bruh who cares about your anouncement video it is just spam and you cant distinct between spal and acual goood videos so yeah
Sorry you feel that way Cyril! All of our projects are intense and massive team efforts so pretty much every release is a celebration, preceded by a trailer and accompanied by a livestream for those who would like to participate in the qna. Afterwards, those promo videos are unlisted and only the main release stays up.
@@kaisercatcinema I think it just ends up looking cluttered for a bit due to the visual similarities between most of the promo ones when all of the promo stuff is viewed next to eachother.
It does end up feeling a bit cramped in regards to the text and the text seems like the main thing that tends to change at a glance.
It's not that big of a deal on it's own, but I will say that I can sorta see it when viewing them all on one page.
Idk honestly I don't think it's that big of a deal, but it's nice to see you acknowledge it in a friendly way.
I get that there's usually always atleast one complaint to deal with on any given thing; and it's refreshing to see that not be met with hostility. I dig the passion you can see in the response and trying to build more of a sense of community is a really good thing.
I think it mostly does end up sorting itself out by the way of unlisting anyways but maybe there could be some minor ways to help with distinction beforehand. I'd think something like making it more apparent without the usage of text in thumbnails or making the text more distinct and forefront?
I want to say it's a fairly niche complaint given the context, and it helps a lot to see you respond with the reasoning and treating the other person like a human here.
