You have a paradise in the making, from experience I know all that water does have a cooling effect creating a micro climate in your garden in the summer. I had a pond in the desert in New Mexico, I have since retired to Colorado. My garden was walled and it was several degrees cool er than my neighbors no planted yard. The wild life that the Pace nd attracted was phenomenal. Love your channel. New subscriber
Thanks Frank. 😊👍
Great video. Thanks ! greetings from France
Thanks for watching!
Awesome garden Kev. Thx for that.
Cheers 🍻
Figuring out the plants for the new pond is definitely something I need to do. Zone 5b. Likely get in the kayak and transplant some natives. Thanks for the video!
Can’t go wrong with that 👍
Thanks for the tour and knowledge!
I’m just glad you didn’t find it boring. 👍
Paradise 🥰
We love it.
Ps great job on everything. And it all looks wonderful
Thanks so much for discussing the plants you use in your ponds. I am in zone 7b/8a in the US. My pond won’t be going in until next spring but I’m already researching what plants I will be able to use in my zone.
Research is half the fun 😉
Thanks for adding the text for the plants you are discussing. It helps me so much. Love your videos. I recently found your channel and love the comparison from diy to aquascape products. I love your ability to express the differences in a honest professional way. Keep it up!!!
I’m glad you are enjoying the channel. That makes me happy 😊
I love your videos man so relaxing and so informative!
Thanks mate. I’m glad you like them 👍
beautiful Kev! you must have an extensive irrigation system for all those plants 🙂
No irrigation system. We are a high rainfall area for 9 months of the year. Summer is usually dry, this one was and my ferns suffered. Next year I’ll water them.
This is awesome to see, as always an inspiration. My pod is slowly coming along and I'm at the point I need to decide what plants I want. I live in Oklahoma USA, so my choices are going to be limited due our cold winters and hot summers.
You’ll find something that’ll work 👍
Thanks for the tour of your amazing water gardens. Sorry about your fish 😢maybe an ornamental mesh dome would help protect the fish and keep the cormorants and kookaburras out 😊
I’m hopeful that once the gardens grow more they won’t visit. They seem to like an easy get away.
Love the ponds.. been watching your videos all night. im at the beginning of building a small pond in my courtyard. quick question. do you think maybe adding some mesh bags of kitty litter and latarite in between the rocks of the bog filter may help with the anoxic filtering? i havent built my bog filter yet, but am going to do the same as you .. 50 gallon barrel.. large rocks at bottom, getting smaller at the top.. but figured maybe adding some mesh bags filled with kitty littter and latarite may help that postive/negative aspect of the anoxic system. what ya think.
It won’t hurt. My anoxic experience was a bit hit and miss.
Which state are you located and when you plant in pebbles do the fish loosen or pull out of the pebbles?
I’m in Victoria. No the fish don’t bother the plants. I can’t keep koi here though.
Do the impatiens do well in direct sun as long as they can keep their feet wet?
Yeap don’t mind the sun but once the frost hits them that’s it.
Hi Kev, thanks for this video, but it looks like your pond is in shade. How much sun exposure does your pond get a day? Mine is full sun all day so impatience are not really an option
During summer at least 10 hours of sun in the courtyard pond. The stream on the dream pond is mostly shaded by the large date palm. It only gets a few hours in the morning and the upper part some in the afternoon.
@@Ozponds How aggressive is the Milfoil? Look a lot like parrot feather
It’s reasonably prolific. There’s about 70 species of milfoil. I only have 2. Both are native to Australia. But I believe they various types are found on every continent except Antartica. What is considered invasive in the US might not be in other jurisdictions.
So what foot wear do you use when walking around your Zen garden? Myself I would go barefoot, I wouldn't want to step on Informant the Frog 🐸without knowing it.
😂 yes mostly barefoot 👍
Are there any plants dangerous for fish
There are. I don’t know all of them. I haven’t had any problems with the plants in my garden. I loose fish to birds.

Stop making art look so easy.
I’ll take that as a compliment 😊🍻👍
