Answering efficiency of physics is not comparable to biology, if student has left some part of physics section then he might not be doing the amount of question he had done in biology in 20 min
Exactly, as we can all see, this yr's zoology paper was totally NCERT based mainly based on memorization. A person with good memorizing power can completely answer those easy zoo questions (atleast 15 in 20 mins), whereas Phy required us to solve and recheck before marking an option correct. In this scenario also, few zoo que might be statement based (time taking) and few phy que might be Match the following (considered easy), this system is not AT ALL applicable for NEET exam.
Also there's no proper method to calculate how much time was wasted in offline mode. What if a student solved some questions and left some on purpose to take unfair advantage of this methodology.
And that's not it. What if NTA themselves told some students who bribed them to purposely leave some questions to secure grace marks.
There are some obvious flaws in the normalisation methodology. And if this is used by NTA for a large number of students then this is the most glaring mistake in the history of the NEET exam.

@@Lakshmimed No, if u look at the vid, although it was just an example, we cld see how 53 marks cld be increased in just 20 mins, so just think in this manner tht these two so called toppers wldn't even hv scored 700 without grace but still managed to push back honest 680 and 670 scoring aspirants.
This system still has two flaws:-🧐
1. NTA doesn't know how much exact time of the aspirant was wasted &
2. NTA can't increase seats to compensate that easily😮💨

3. If most starts from Bio & Bio qs can be solved easily with accuracy and this will lead to more correct %
4. Doesn't know about the pressure and hard questions(what if one slows down in solving hard questions)
5. More time and less questions will also increase answering efficiency
6. Moreover a student would have attempted most easy questions in less number of time & that will increase accuracy and correct %. One could be even willing to leave the rest but still they will estimate 🥲

Also this kind of compensation is meaningless and it leads to unwanted pressure anxiety to really deserving candidates not getting a GMC at such high scores..... Literally NTA must republish the NEET RESULT without giving the grace marks and if such don't happen according to me every state should have their own counseling this year.... There is no need of that 15% AIQ counseling
This kind of system can only be applied to Computer based exams not on Pen-paper based exams.

But this normalisation method suggested for CLAT becomes absolutely absurd and illogical when it's to be applied on an exam like NEET due to the following flaws in the formula :-
1) It assumes that the student has same answering efficiency for all sections and same accuracy too.
2)It is the most fucked up system for this exam where a kid might score 360 in bio but only 130 in physics.
3)Not all questions of neet require the same amount of time.
4)The questions that a student leaves for last doesn't have same accuracy as the ones he answered earlier in the paper.
5)We have no data about time given to each student and time not given to them hence this method is prone to malpractice by NTA itself (paisa do result lo).
And many more such variables are possible which makes it impossible to make a fair guess of someone's actual score he would've got if given proper time.
Time needs to be compensated with extra time, not marks.
Please let this be brought into the mainstream media and let us try to find the rest of their blunders.

exactly, they should've given extra time to those students on the exam day itself.
Secondly, it's surprising that although such cases of loss of time appear each year but this is the first time grace marks have been provided that too with such secrecy and no mentioning of it in the 167 page long information bulletin neither in any press release even after one whole month has passed since the exam.
And to those people asking desperately for Re-NEET , trust me it won't give you any justice.. there's no guarantee that such things won't happen again and you won't score less than the actual neet you gave a month ago.
The only valid solution to this blunder according to me will be the Re-Evaluation of the results after abolishing the Normalisation principle and assuring the candidates who've suffered this "loss of time" by having them take a Re-NEET.. it's unfortunate for them but a much better option than conducting the exam for all 23 lakh aspirants once again.

i believe that normalisation done by NTA , for students who had say 15-20 minutes less time, is wrong.
this is because for normal students also, they had lost this much time in all the signing of papers, hving several pictures taken with papers, solo & with the whole class. all those interruptions took that much time. So, students who had that delay, would've finished all that checking in that time or lesser. so that's like no change.

2) Then after attempting biology, students who have idea of attempting paper prefer to attempt the questions which they are sure about in Physics and Chemistry section . This also leads to high answering efficiency.
3) The students who got grace marks might not attempt the remaining question with that efficiency of accuracy and of course the remaining questions will be highly time consuming.
3) In exam like neet where 70℅ questions are basic and less time taking. You can't use this methodology.
4) In competitive exam like neet where 24 lakh candidates appeared for exam, Each mark have thousands of students. You can't give grace marks of 50/80/100 marks. This is not how it should be.
5) Time should be normalized with Time only.
6) Also, some students are getting lower marks then expected even after matching the final answer key and their response omr sheet. Nta should work on this matter too. Because every 1 mark matter!

I scored 640 this year…and got 38k rank….there are many like me…between 620 to 660 and they are disappointed and filled with anger…. these 40,000 students will come back stronger. Aa raha hu agle saal….ab pata chalega jab 640 aur 650 wale drop lete hai to wo kya karenge next year. Ab paper kitna bhi tough ho…JEE level tak kar do koi fark nahi padta…ab dekhna kya karta hu mai agle saal…640 pe drop karne ka dukh ab gusse me badal raha hai..💪🏻

the invigilator at my centre accidentally cut my omr with a paper cutter. I lost close to 30 minutes in the exam due to that. Currently scoring 570. No normalisation. Agar pata hota aisa hai then I too would have filed a petition. What a joke.

@avinash_sharma22 The formula you are explaining was given for CBT mode exam, whereas NEET is an offline exam. Hence, it cannot be applied for NEET.

I have no idea abt CLAT exam or its paper pattern, this 'normalisation formula' (which is not at all normal) might work just fine in case of CLAT exam but employing the same for NEET exam with 3 different subjects, different kind of questions in each and different difficulty level of every question is complete nonsense. Idk wht NTA wants to prove, you never know whether only these 718 and 719 scoring students were awarded grace or some of the 720 ones too.
Exactly at 2PM they distributed a paper and when we started to open it, an official entered our exam room and asked us not to open it and after 10mins they distributed entirely a new paper (as the paper they gave earlier was larger in size) and we started filling the omr present in the question paper exactly at 2:15 PM. Later the staffs asked our passport size photo to paste which does not fit in the official sheet given to staffs. We were asked to cut the passport size photo and later ourself we pasted on the sheet. Exactly at 5:20PM they grabbed our omr like something else. The entire exam ambience was very weird and uncomfortable.

I did the calculation based on your formula, we got paper 15 min late, by this logic my marks should be 662 instead of 620. Lekin ye reason agar maan bhi le, fir bhi itna inflation justify nai hota. 15-20 mark ki jagah 30 mark badh jata cutoff, lekin ye to sidha 40-50 mark badh gaya. Aur medical seats to badhne se rahi. 1 month mae counselling chalu hojayegi, isme kaise itni seat badha denge. Agar ye sab election pehle hua hota to vote ke naam pe shayad kuch action bhi leti government. Lekin ab to koi chance nai lag rahe hai seat badhne ke.

In that particular CLAT examination time problem occurred in the scattered manner among the student . So they thought of normalisation instead of reconduction of paper . But in this year neet examination time problem did not occurred scattered but there are data for time delay on which normalisation was done . So there should be reconduction of neet examination in that particular centre . As in neet examination few questions are rank makers and rest are easy so getting grace marks in rank maker will change the game , as observed in NEET UG 2024 results . For example I have done my paper 15 min before the time is over and was doubtful only in 10 questions and getting 680 marks ,suppose I was given paper 10 mins late , acc to normalisation I would have scored 720 but that is not my actual potential as I have not scored 720 and I was given full time .

A few questions one can ask to NTA through RTI.
1. What's the criteria for normalisation and grace marks?
2. How many students got grace marks and how much, along with which centres they (students) belongs to? (In table format)
3. How many centres throughout India, couldn't distribute paper to students on time (that's 2 pm)?
4. Are all students who got grace marks, really deserves it? (Or NTA assumed, if 10 students got wasted their 20 minutes, all should be given equal grace marks as compensation, which doesn't makes sense, cause not all students are at equal level with their preperation)?
5. Could there be any other methods of compensation for the candidates who faced delayed paper situation? (Like considering taking retest of only those students who faced these situations, thus making it fair for everyone) Or is it fair to give equal grace marks blindly assuming all of them deserves it?
6. What are the actions NTA is going to take in future, to prevent delayed paper distribution, mass cheating, paper leaking, corruption within its own system and so on?
7. Which government body or authority should be officially held accountable for the current situation? Who is responsible here?
8. What are the chances of retest (re NEET examination) for all students? And if there's chances, how beforehand students are going to have information about retest? (Cause the irregularities between decided and actual results release date is already alarming).
9. Will NTA is going to provide fair re-results of students, if it's not planning for any mass retest? (Instead taking test of only those students who got troubled on exam centre).
10. Is NTA still a trustworthy body, or we need some other organisation for conducting all India level tests (like NEET, JEE)?
11. And if we can still trust NTA even after all these, we want proof, how can NTA prove themselves, that they will make sure it won't be repeated in future?
12. Will NTA give vague answers to the questions I raised, directing attention of people towards technology and AI it used for conducting the exam, to justify or assure people, that it's a fair exam?
13. Is NTA going to provide proper answer to all my 13 questions, leaning more towards giving logical answers and participating in solving this mass problem (as almost each individual of India is involved, one way or another) instead of playing with people's mind, lives and career? (Cause this generation needs to set an example for future, we can't tolerate unfairness).
Bhaiya NTA is even accepting That They Gave grace marks at the centre Due to loss of 45 mins time..and it's the same centre from which 6 AIR 1 came.. And they said they have done this in other citites also

Still there is a question.Usually a neet student does bio portion first in which his speed as well as accuracy both are much more and how this rate can be applied to physics and chemistry?
1)Most of the Aspirant prefer attempting Biology first and Bio is comparatively easy and less time taking which leads to good answering efficiency.
2) Then after attempting biology, students who have idea of attempting paper prefer to attempt the questions which they are sure about in Physics and Chemistry section . This also leads to high answering efficiency.
3) The students who got grace marks might not attempt the remaining question with that efficiency of accuracy and of course the remaining questions will be highly time consuming.
3) In exam like neet where 70℅ questions are basic and less time taking. You can't use this methodology.
4) In competitive exam like neet where 24 lakh candidates appeared for exam, Each mark have thousands of students. You can't give grace marks of 50/80/100 marks. This is not how it should be.
5) Time should be normalized with Time only.
6) Also, some students are getting lower marks then expected even after matching the final answer key and their response omr sheet. Nta should work on this matter too. Because every 1 mark matter!

Their should be a re-evaluation and the students who got grace marks must give the exam again. NTA must organise re neet for all those students who got grace marks and the marks obtained should be used to in result and thus the result should be prepared again .
As there are many students who really got 650+ marks even 600+ marks with their efforts and giving neet again for them is really very stressful. A special centre should be allotted and all students with grace marks should be present on this centre for re neet .

Time loss should be compensated with extra time. Granting Grace marks like that is a farce on face of so many hard working aspirants who give up their heart and soul for preparation. NTA is really despicable for doing this. We must protest against it. As a first year MBBS student, I support all my juniors wholeheartedly.
Normalisation is not correct for neet as there are three subjects and physics being on tougher side, they cant give grace marks based on bio and chem marks and secondly clat was online and thus exactly know how much student lost the time but in offline how can this be possible?
