- MAGNIFICENT! I Bought the new 39mm TUDOR Black Bay 58 GMT | Know This Before You Buy | Automatic Divers Watch Review
Bakelite goodness! I picked this reference M7939G1A0NRU up from my local authorised dealer and couldn't be happier!
It pays homage to the old Rolex GMT Master watches from yesteryear, which gained the 'Coke' nickname due to the colour of the red and black bezel.
Others may call this the 'Caffeine Free' or the 'Iron-Man'
Master Chronometer (METAS) certified.
Certification by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).
Waterproof to 200 m (660 ft) in accordance with ISO standard.
Smooth functioning when exposed to a magnetic field of 15,000 gauss and precision following exposure.
65-hour power reserve.
Would you buy this watch?
Please leave any comments or questions below and follow me on IG.
Thanks for checking in :)
I bought this watch yesterday, it just arrived at the AD and I was told it was for exhibition only. But the seller eventually told me I was a real enthusiast and wanted to sell it to me. Felt like I hit the jackpot. Pictures and videos don’t do this watch justice, it’s so much nicer in person. The way light reflects on the bezel and gilt accents is stunning.
That's amazing you got to pick it up! Did you go bracelet or rubber?
@@TheLumeRoom still can’t believe it myself, they told me I was the first one to get it from them.
I got it on the bracelet, would’ve loved to have the rubber strap included, just to be able to swap looks. But they told me it would be very expensive, not worth the extra money.
@key4duty Hopefully you can buy the rubber from them soon. It shouldn't be too expensive... I hope
@@TheLumeRoom the employee of the AD told me it would be around 600-800 euro’s for the strap with the clasp included. Very steep price for a rubber strap in my opinion.
@key4duty That is a lot of cash for a rubber strap. Maybe worth looking at third-party options
It is a really amazing watch picked mine up end of May. The AD gave into me as he knew I was excited about this watch 😀
Amazing pickup! How are you finding the user experience?
Fantastic video! You should do a podcast, your voice is so soothing. The last 20 seconds had me giggling
Thanks for watching! I'd love to do a podcast, but it's already difficult finding the time to make videos and keep my partner the happiest lady alive. Maybe one day...
When it comes to fine imitation watches, amzwatch delivers. I've bought from them several times, and I've never been let down.
Great video man and congrats 👏
Ah, thanks so much, my friend! Means a lot coming from a fellow enthusiast, and great creator like yourself.
Great review! Just received mine today, and I agree with all your points. There is a guy, Uncle Straps that makes half links for the Black Bay 58 line that fits this perfect and makes that T-Fit adjustment fine tuned. Keep up the great work!
I really appreciate your feedback and enjoy the watch! I might check out your half link recommendation
Such a joke that one has to use some non-Tudor Chinese made half-links to sort out the fit on a watch you pay multiple thousands of dollars for. It’s pathetic.
@thegorn It's frustrating, but hopefully Tudor will listen and add a half link, as its a great bracelet
@@thegornI agree. I had to get a half-link for my BB58 to get the bracelet to fit. The clasp is still huge on the bottom of my wrist; the 6 o’clock side doesn’t articulate, and the 12 o’clock side has a set of scissor arms that are about 1/4” too long! The effective length of the clasp is well over 50mm!
Almost bought the BB58 until I saw this, had mine about 10 days now. Absolutely love it, get compliments all time about it
Excellent! What's your favourite thing about this 58 GMT?
@TheLumeRoom Personally, I like the matt dial looking almost like a very dark grey and the snowflake hands, and the micro adjustment on the bracelet is great.
I think most people initially like it because it's shiny and like my nephew thought, a Rolex, but even when they find out its not, they still like it.
I did show a few people pictures of it next to a regular BB58 and the majority said the GMT looked better.
I think this is a classic looks good in photos, but is even better when actually on the wrist
@@CraigLondon Couldn't have said it better. Enjoy the watch!
@TheLumeRoom Thanks, you too! 😁
Where did u buy it? We have nothing in America?
Great video. I love my 58 and I can’t wait to find the 58 GMT at my AD.
It's such an amazing watch. You reckon you'll add the GMT to your collection?
That's the Dr. Pepper but non-Americans won't understand that one.
We have Dr. Pepper here in the UK
Great review. Must agree with you the BB 54 I’ve had it for nine months now you’re right it is a masterpiece. I have two more tudors but it’s the 54 that finds itself on my wrist most of the time.
Thanks for watching! Favourite thing about the 54? I reach for mine all the time, I love the thinness.
Great review u sir know your watches :)
I really appreciate that, and thank you for watching!
What a fantastic video! I don’t believe in perfect but this piece just destroys every everyday watch. It’s a masterpiece
Thank you for your kind words! I agree, it's near perfect. Great for any collection!
Awesome review! You are an expert watch you-tuber.
Ah much love! I'm no expert, but that's amazing to hear from a fellow watch enthusiast ❤️
Lovely watch, see you got the free caps , nice one mate
Cheers, pal. Gotta have that Tudor swag!
I wasn't expecting the instant date change complication. Very nice touch on the movement side of things
It's totally solid! METAS baby. Appreciate you watching, pal
You can't know if it's an instant date change without rotating the minute hand. Rotating the hour hand alone isnt sufficient.
@enormouslizard7579 I've also tried with all hands moving, and it's instant date change
Would be great to see a side by side video with this and the 54! Seems like they could sit together in a small collection without stepping on each other's toes potentially like either of these and a black-dialled BB58 would.
Good call. I can certainly look into doing a comparison if there's enough appetite for it (?)
No toxic sodas or super heroes. Behold, the Captain Picard! 🖖
Haha, I kinda like that!! Kudos on the Vulcan high-five 🖖
I have the BB54 and love the rivets but put it on a strap for reasons of comfort. The Cherry* Coke looks great - the burgundy goes well with the rose gold gilt.
*can’t explain why I call it Cherry Coke but it works for me.
Would love to see a comparison with the BB54.
Cherry Coke works. Cool, I should be able to do a 58 GMT vs 54. Anything in particular you want me to cover, or just everything?
Awesome Watch !!!
Thanks! What's your favourite feature?
Thought it would be a little to small on my 18,5 cm wrist. But no, it is a little beast. 2 seconds to fast in two weaks. Haven't worn my pepsi gmt 2 since. T-fit better than the Easy link of the Rolex. A stunner.
Very good quality Video ❤
Glad you're having a positive experience with it! That Pepsi of yours might have to wait for a while :)
The T Fit clasp is awesome, a game changer for me.
@@arshadismail2056 I agree. It's one of the best clasps out there
I fell asleep to the background music, was nice!!
Haha, that means you'll just have to watch my vid again :)
Very nice. I have a Tudor Pepsi. Tudor are really fantastic watches
Thanks! Would you consider getting this thinner GMT, although you have the Pepsi?
@@TheLumeRoom if I didn’t have the big gmt Pepsi I would consider it
@@1981fallout That's fair
Congrats! Not a fan of the gilt accents so I'll stick to my BB Pro for now.
Each to their own I guess. They'll have to slim that BB Pro down soon though, you reckon?
Cheers for that. I’ve had mine a few weeks but not cracked it out yet!
What's holding you back, buddy?
Why?
@@davidgant6720 I need to know too
Just waiting for a reason perhaps. I’ve also been wearing a Vancouver edition sea master rather than this just now. But that’ll change soon I imagine
@@skier18 Very cool, have fun!
I love the old crown then newer one
How come? I kinda like the new one
Could I take the black and gold fabric strap from the normal 58 and slap it on the GMT, you think? I'm a sucker for their fabric straps, but they obv don't offer one with the new GMT yet.
Same lug width I believe, so you should be able to do it.
just bought the watch its beautiful
Glad you like it! Did you go bracelet or rubber?
I love it. Checked it out at the local AD and the display model strangely had a 60 click bezel which put me off a bit. Glad to see the real ones have 24 clicks.
It’s actually a 48 click bezel
The Tudor BB58 GMT has a 48-click bidirectional rotating bezel. Hope that helps
@@johnquinn5579 Correct
@@TheLumeRoom Excellent video. I picked up mine about a month ago and almost immediately took it on holiday to Portugal where I wore it round the clock. It neither gained or lost a second in 2 weeks.
@johnquinn5579 Thanks, and what an incredible travel companion it would make. You utilising that GMT function?
They have fixed the proportions of the triangle larger and the logo, on the 58 I can’t unsee how far pushed down the logo and text are :( I’m going to pick on of these up
It's definitely been refined on the GMT. I love it.
Using the Superhero name for watch's i.e. Batman, Hulk etc, This is more of an Ironman than a Coke. I've had mine for almost 3 weeks and having previously having a 58 the only issues I have had was it initially felt a little out of balance due to the extra weight in the clasp but I soon got use to it.
Iron-Man definitely works! I'm really enjoying this piece, hope you are too?
I've got an Invicta GMT and still going strong after 15 years
What's the movement specs on that?
I was hyped for this watch.. wanted to buy it.. saw it in person.. changed my mind
That's a shame. What changed?
@@TheLumeRoomthe glint.. too yellow for me in person..😢
@@danime0199 Who knows, they'll probably do other colourways down the line
This on a jubilee bracelet would be 🔥🔥🔥
You reckon they'll eventually do it on a 5-link bracelet?
you’re literally my comfort person i love you #amzwatch !
First of all, congratulations for your video, it’s great. I love the new BB 58 GMT and its better than the original (Metas certified and t-fit clasp) but three years and two months ago, I bought brand new the BB GMT (41mm.) on bracelet and still I have it. On month ago, I went to a Tudor ID and I tried the new one, and to be honest, I prefer the 41mm. Looks better on my big wrist and also, I prefer the mat Pepsi bezel and hands and markers in silver, but is just my opinion and my preference. Many thanks for sharing an excellent video.
I really appreciate your feedback! That 41mm Pepsi is still a fantastic watch. If they thin it down a bit... I'm buying it! Thanks for watching, pal
Lovely watch from Tudor.
It's top class. Something you'd consider adding to your collection?
@@TheLumeRoom I have a Tudor Chrono S&G and love every bit of it. I really like this watch too but my next one will be Tudor GMT S&G while I'm still waiting for a call from my local Rolex AD.
@Dronetothetop Nice! What you waiting for from the Rolex AD?
@@TheLumeRoom Two tone Explorer :)
@@Dronetothetop Very classy. Hope it arrives soon!
I would call it the “Cherry Coke” since the “red” is a little darker than the standard Coke red.
Not bad. The red is such a good highlight of this piece
I'm going to get one when it hits grey.
Very cool watch. What's your favourite part?
Opeliine color in this size will be great
I agree. Maybe new colours next year... ?
Please do a side by side with the54!
Thanks, I can certainly look at doing it!
Should have used the same black dial as the 54. This one looks grey in certain light
We've gotta have variety though, right?
HEY #mamacoo I have been watching you for years and im so proud of where you have made it! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day
I kind of really want it, but got no use for a GMT watch.
What do you do with the GMT hand when not travelling or tracking a timezone, that is relevant to you?
I use the GMT function most days for my work. You should go buy it if you really want it?
@@TheLumeRoom I'm hesitant, because I don't know where to put the GMT hand. 😂🤷🏼♂️ I'll probably just set some random Timezone and keep it there. Thank you very much for the review/showcase.
@cy9nvs My pleasure, and let me know if you have any questions
@@cy9nvsI have family in Europe (I reside in US), so I set my GMT hour hand to their time zone which I find useful. If you don’t know where to set your GMT hand, you could always set it to be 24 hrs time which will show you if it’s day or night :)
The first link between the lugs are not as nice as the rolex bracelet.... But great timepiece...
That could be true, but there's a big price difference too. Would you buy a GMT?
Will wait for other colour variants
That's fair. What other colours do you think they'll do?
@@TheLumeRoom I will seriously consider it if it has a blue radial dial, Pepsi bezel, and jubilee bracelet. But any colour without the fake lume, fake rivets on the bracelet and gilded accents is good.
@@ultrasonicradiation I'd definitely buy a blue and red variant
Think they’ll offer a silver later this year?
Silver hands and markers? It's possible they'll do another colourway down the line, but not sure when or how it'll look.
Super fresh! 🥧🔥💯😎
Gmt hand should be the same shade of red as the bezel.
I'd certainly take a look. Like the BB GMT Pepsi?
I wish it had a gloss black dial. I don’t think that the gilt and shiny bezel matches with a matt black dial. I find that jarring.
Gloss black is cool, but is that not just what Rolex do with the GMT Master II?
I wish I could have one but I'm poor and can't have one but I'm still going to get a plastic watch 😞⌚
Nothing to be ashamed about. I love Casio watches too, if you have checked out those?
For the price i cant believe they didnt color match the date wheel
They did colour match the date wheel with the other indices
@@TheLumeRoomif they did it to color match it to the other indices they should gilted the perimeter of the date window to match the other gilted indices, i love the watch but i just think at 4600$ usd the attention to detail needs to be better my prx even has a steel perimeter to match the steel indices, It wouldnt stop me from buying this watch but its just disappointing
@@johnw6613 Sounds like you're extremely into a framed date window. If that's your thing, keep at it.
@@TheLumeRoom it seems like you have an issue with pointing out things that could be improved on the watch. It is definitely nit picking but at this price point its completely acceptable to nit pick in my opinion
@johnw6613 First, you said they haven't colour matched the date wheel, which is incorrect. You're now saying it should have a framed date window, which is a preference, not an improvement. You have also mentioned the price a few times which sounds like you can't really afford it. I'm happy to point out things like the clasp could be longer or they could add in a half link. It's not right though to think a company is somewhat cutting corners because they didn't go with your your preference on dial configuration. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
I feel they should have put
GMT
MASTER
CHRONOMETER
its too long with master chronometer on one line.
I had never thought of that. Any chance that could negate the free / negative space?
@@TheLumeRoom it would bring more symmetry to the top part of the dial. Since there are 3 lines of text if you include the Shield symbol as text. Shield then below Tudor and below geneve
@@managua-san8075 I'd certainly like to see it!
What about
GMT MASTER
CHRONOMETER
Too familiar?
@@jeremylamb1060 Haha, why does that sound familiar to me?
Can anyone please shed light on the AD buying experience? Im sure it’s not Rolex standards but am i going to have to convince my AD to sell me one?
Definitely not the Rolex experience. Depends on your Tudor AD, but they'll sell you whatever they have in stock
@@TheLumeRoom I was hoping you’d say they’ll sell me the watch i want 😅 still, ill check it out, this watch is certainly next on the list
@@NorfTec Go for it. It's an amazing piece
@@TheLumeRoom i certainly will, appreciate the info
I want this but on the rubber strap.
Looks great on rubber. What if a bracelet version got offered, would you take it?
@@TheLumeRoom I would, and order the rubber
@@galaman12001 Good choice ;)
whats the weight on this? thanks!
Approx. 146 grams
Do you think this will be a keeper for you?
Good question. Yes, I have no plans to sell mine, so it's a keeper!
@@TheLumeRoom and how would you say it compares to the GMT master II from what you know?
@tanvirrahman9504 It's basically a more affordable GMT Master II. The specs and functionality are so similar, but the Tudor is less than half the price of the Rolex. The Rolex is a Rolex though...
Too small for me: 7.25 otherwise I would consider it
Too bad. Hopefully they upgrade the movement in their bigger GMT's and slim them down?
Don’t you mean Pepsi ?
No. Pepsi is red, white and blue, the last time I checked?
Ok sorry it looked blue to me…I’ve never heard it referred to as Coca Cola…
@Trevelyan1971 No problem. There's too many nicknames in this hobby, haha
Its too small..
For who?
Nice looking but too thick and too heavy.
Have you tried one on?
@@TheLumeRoomI have the Pepsi which I rarely wear and will eventually sell.
@@ma9ical1 Cool. Are you aware this new 58 GMT is a lot thinner than the old Pepsi and the BB Pro?
Looks the same from watching your video, the 1.8mm whilst welcome is not enough
@@ma9ical1 It's a good bit thinner. Give it a shot. Cheers
It’s a freaking clone hommage of Rolex gmt in every single detail except that god awfull hands and we are here pretending that this watch is something new or special. It’s like comparing Seat Leon to Golf 7.
I am honestly sick of people living in alternative reality.
After almost 100 years Tudor still doesn’t have their design language or original cases.
For decades we recived in 4k€ Tudor punny eta 2824 which you can find in 600€ watch.
So you're not a fan?
@@TheLumeRoom All I asking is from Tudor, give me something new and original and not Rolex historical one to one copies.Ali express brands gets heat and shame yet Tudor is doing exactly the same sh.. as San Martin or other Chinese brands.
@dado380 Do keep in mind that Tudor were the more affordable Rolex from day 1. That was the plan.
@@TheLumeRoom Yeah, I know. This has nothing with your excellent review but I feel that Rolex is in longterm damaged by this cuz Tudor is cherry picking best of Rolex catalogue.
Crazy part is Rolex don’t give a F…
@dado380 I hear ya. Appreciate your comments and feedback
Too big too thick too poor's Rolex
It's a 39mm case... what size are your wrists if that's too big?
you’re literally my comfort person i love you #mamacoo !
To summarize I think the original 58 was not a good watch because they didn't even bother to put on a one link extension however the new 58 with the t-fit I have to say that it is probably a very nice classy watch but still a large watch more appropriate for an evening out or maybe even formal evening night at the poker table nightclub formal event
This new 58 GMT is only 39mm diameter and they've shaved nearly 2mm off the thickness. Which part is large? It would look good at a poker table though
amzwatch 's watches are worth it!
Can I watch kind of sucks I mean at least this time they gave you the Glide lock bracelet thing but I still think the 54 is way nicer watch it's really they're only nice watches the 54 and I keep on with the stupid 58 that actually sucks the 58th it's too big and stupid
What don't you like about the 58 GMT?
@@TheLumeRoom it sucks it's not even nice it's a waste of money go to Rolex GMT on a nice GMT the only watch that's a good value from tutor is the black Bay 54 that's a nice everyday watch it depends on your lifestyle too it's everyday watch that you can go to the grocery store you can do whatever the you need to do it's understated but it's clearly a very nice luxury watch but the other ones the 58's they're just too bulky looking they just don't sit nice on the wrist they're not well-balanced I don't think they paid enough attention to the fit of the watch even now with the tea fit but can you believe they actually trick people into buying this piece of junk watch without the t fit imagine this watch without the t fit how crap it was
