    I think that same tip awareness feeling your getting is what a lot of next gen pros are doing.
    That feeling that no matter what shot you have to hit the racquet feels like it’s ready to rip through the air on your forehand especially. I think I noticed this more when I lowered my static weight. I used to play with like a 350 string weight and once I lowered it to 338-340 that feeling that I could whip through the ball and still have all the pace I needed became apparent. I think it’s number of factors though. One is that your probably used to heavier weights so lighter light frames will just give you that feeling that you can use the racquet tip better. TW, Head shape, Balance point might affect it also. Maybe take the racquets that gave you that tip awareness and address the commonalities between them? That might have help you narrow it down.

    Hi, I really love your CZcams on rackets and strings. I'm a older player since 1963. I've been a club stringer for the last 7 years.
    After hurting my shoulder 2 😂years ago I went back to my first racket Wilson Four BLX 105 for it's lightness monuver ability. I'm one of the fastest full Court player in my age group. What I found just by accident was a string setup that allows me to hit the ball almost anywhere on the court with a full swing that helps me beat 4.0 player's.
    My setup is mains MSV focus hex 1.20mm 55 lb Crosses 1.25 Volkl cyclone. At first it was a loud crack sound. Which I put it down for 2 weeks. It's been 1.5 months no notches just killer shots. Volley, serve, forhand slice and top spin. I have just strung up my Pacific force racket to see if it performs same on a 98 racket. It's a low Ra 55 but the same results . I'm mostly a flat hitter since that's all there was with wooden rackets. Strung mains. 54 with Msv Hex and 50 in the crosses with Volkl Cyclone.. I've tried Restring zero , Weiss Cannon ultra cable. Both either too much bite between strings . just not the control for the way I play. Give it a try very inexpensive compared to the others.

    The main reason I got curious about Solinco was the XTD or 1/2" longer Extended version. But I'm hunching you went with the 98" 305 (static weight) because your mention of a stock racquet. I'm short so that extra half inch puts way more serves in plus more leverage on forehands backhands plus the obvious added reach when recieving those bombs that half inch equates to more control. Looking forward to your review am I hearing a sponsorship in your show's future because I've never heard that much elation in your voice before 🤥

    Beckett, you are something else.. lots of physics in this game with rotational speed, arm length (levers), angles, height, etc😂Now, I’m am an old dude tennis player with short arms and medium racquet head speed. Never broke a string in my life , which pisses me off…feel so inadequate. I have been playing with the Shift 300, which is forcing me to try to generate greater racket head speed. The Wilson Blade V8 100 captured my interest a few months ago , but Tennis Warehouse didn’t offer it - until now. So I ordered one this morning. I also was interested in the VCore 98. Not sure why… I do not know if it fits me, or if the Ezone 98 is a better choice. I do know that I won’t break a string! How would you describe your game? I’m also dabbling with polys for the first time in my life. Tennisnerd recommended MSV Swift comfort, so I strung my Shift with it… I like it and no pain, so far.Please recommend some poly strings that will help with spin and not destroy my arm… Also, I think the sound produced when striking the ball is important.. Me likey… The sound produced by Shift 300 with MSV is nice…. Btw: A number of people real like that “ White Out”…. 🎾🎾🎾🎾Ciao, John

      For soft poly's I like Polytour Pro, Grapplesnake Alpha and have recently enjoyed Head Hawk Power, though it wasn't that soft. I don't usually get along with super soft poly's as they can feel a bit mushy to me.
      Interesting question on how I would describe my game. It's changed a lot over the year. I used to have the worst serve ever so I felt like I was a total counter puncher. But I've made some adjustments to my serve and forehand which have turned me more into an aggressive baseliner. My backhand is more technically sound, but I struggle to do the damage with that side that I can do with my forehand. I think that I would like to be an all court player, but I need to work on my transition game to get to that point.

    Living in NY , I have been to Roman Prokes store and spoke with him a few times . He also has a small shop were he strings at in a tennis club in long Island city , queens. The solinco white out wants to be on the pro circuit . There is an issue with it when going for low ground ball sweeps . The shape of the head does not allow for low ground sweeps and will peal back the head guard when you scrape the ground . The maintenance costs for more dynamic or intensive tennis was a deal breaker for me because of the overall costs of maintenance , to replace everything . It would cost at least $50.00 U.S to replace everything with labour each time , if you are an intensive no limits player .
    Since you replace your own strings and grommets , that should not be much of an issue . Get head guard tape and take its weight into consideration . Solinco does have the nicest white 6 pack tennis bag .

    • @TennCom

      @@jamespe925 I did not refer to the xtd , but was referring to the 16x19 regular length . An extended which I have tried as well did not have the issue because of me focusing on not going that far in the act or from a natural non necessity to not need to go that low to commit to the sweep because of it being an xtd . My height 6 ft tall . I did not mention it to Roman and the other stringers at there shop in manhattan , because I did not want them to feel bad about it , even though it would be useful information . What I did see is that under the peeled back head guard , there was what looked like silver lead tape . This may be for demo purposes to get to the stock weight or by design . I would suggest checking . The Yonex vcores isometric head would seem to do better in sweeps because of the possibility of the frames ability to occupy more air space to catch the ball .

  • @stephenericwalsh
    @stephenericwalsh Před rokem +1

    I am no expert. But I would have thought that adjusting the racket angle during swing was not a great idea. If you keep a neutral relaxed wrist, which will help with the lag, your swing path and grip choice should determine the angle at contract. Obviously this angle changes depending on how forward or how far back you contract the ball. But I tend to aim for using a neutral, relaxed, wrist and let the other variables take care of racket angle. I am probably wrong!

    • @TennCom
      @TennCom  Před rokem

      No I think you are right. A lot of the good coaching advice I've seen lately from guys like Rick Macci suggest that changes in the swing should happen at the beginning, not during. But that's assuming that you can read every ball correctly and get setup properly every time, something that I am not able to do yet. I can hit every racquet well when I'm setup perfectly. Its more about finding a racquet that helps you save yourself when you've done a bad job.

    • @stephenericwalsh
      @stephenericwalsh Před rokem

      @@TennCom Exactly. One of the best things I ever read about technique was that all that matters is how the racquet physically interacts with the ball given their relatives positions, velocity and spin. Good technique and certain swing paths are a way to under ideal circumstances achieve that interaction between the ball and the racquet. But ideal circumstances rarely happen in play and so you have to modify the textbook swing to suit the actual circumstances to achieve the desired interaction between ball and racquet. For me the Pure Drive was a saviour because I'm in my mid fifties and slow and it means that I am out of position a lot and the extra power saves me when I can't make the racquet and ball interact in the way I need them to. Anyway, love your videos. Keep 'em coming.

On both the forehand and backhand I know where the racket sits in space as I take it back and it comes through the ball. The high swingweight to static weight ratio of the solinco and speed lines are pretty similar, is 'tip awareness' maybe a feeling you get on a highly polarised racket?

  • @TheodorosKolokotronis799

    I was very curious from the start how your relationship with vc98 would go….. i bought this racquet and sold it after one week only. I was loosing easily depth due to the muted feel (less than previous version) and i couldn’t play flat at all….. if i didn’t apply the right amount of spin ball would easily fly away. As for radical mp auxetic to me made it muted and way tooooo soft. I prefer 360 plus that had a more raw connection. New version felt to offer even less spin and byte….. too mushy. At last i was a fan of whiteout 290…. I couldn’t gel with 305 16x19….. not so quick through the air and feel was kinda harsh….. so i am very curious to test 18x20 that most of the reviewers say that it has a more plush and soft feel which is weird cause it is a more closed pattern.

Maybe there is another combo that might be better, but really don't have the time or resources to try many. Demos seemed checked out all the time and fiding court time a pain. I asked Chris Edwards from Tennis Warehouse which of the top 18x20 racquets he would recommend most and he said, "I’d likely go with the SOLINCO WHITEOUT 18x20 XTD since it offers more power on serves and still felt easy enough to maneuver at net. Both offer more power and a livelier feel (as well as firmer feel) than the Speed and Gravity Pros. If you prefer more of a standard length I still think you’d find ample power from the standard 18x20 version." Would you agree with this?

    9.45 mark.. With respect to your forehand, I see at times that you are too close to the ball. Your take back is abbreviated. What will help your take back will be reviewing Nick Bolleteri videos on "pointing the flashlight" the butt cap of the racket being the flashlight. One hand is sufficient for a forehead take back imo. Hitting a forehead otherwise with a bent elbow is not optimal but it can be done. If you are looking for a neo forehead (Federer, Alcaraz.. aka extended arm with wrist lag) you have to increase your distance from the ball..

    Interesting video! I am 17 years old who is relatively new to the game (2 months) and I’m looking for a new racket. Do you have any recommendations for what racket and string I should get? Thanks

    • @TennCom
      @TennCom  Před rokem

      My recommendation is not the recommendation you want to here. 2 months is not enough time to warrant you buying a new racquet. I wouldn't buy a new racquet for at least another year. Just focus on your game and make sure you have fresh strings. I recommend stringing with a single core nylon like Head PPS or Prince Syngut with Duraflex. There's no need to worry about this stuff until you've developed your strokes and playstyle to a point where you begin to plateau. As a 17 year old, this could take a very long time, especially if you are serious about getting better and surround yourself with like minded players or coaches. The v3 Ultra got mixed reviews at best, but I actually liked it. I think its a racquet that you could continue to use well into the professional level because the stringbed gives great control to balance out the powerful frame.

      @@nicohorer2849 it is far above every other racket for me.I switch between 2 strings: Head Lynx Tour and Solinco Tour Bite soft, both work great in terms of pocketing the ball and providing power and spin. Head is more comfortable and solinco is more agressive. Tension is personal, but I like it low, 45 lbs
