New sub here. I’ve only been playing for one year. But I can do songs like these. However the actual official version has a stretch from fret 4 to 8 in the verse. I can’t do that. My hand won’t stretch. I’ve tried every guitar I own. But this way to do the verse I can do. So I’m grateful because it’s only those two little parts in the verse I can’t do in the rest I can do. So thank you for showing me another way to do it. Great job with the channel can’t wait for more! They tell me I’m already an intermediate player but I feel like a newb.
Don’t get too fixated on what level of playing people think you’re at. The best way forward is to fall in love with the process of learning. Then just try to get a little bit better today, than you were yesterday. Keep repeating that daily and grow into an amazing musician :)

So the second part of the verse you said there’s a C# but didn’t show it. You showed A E and B. But what chord shape works for C# with that 5-2 picking pattern? I ask cuz there’s several ways to play C#.
Hey Scott, for the C#, just take the same shape that you use for B and move it up 2 frets so that your index finger is on the 4th fret of the A string, ring finger on the 6th fret of the D string and pinky and pinky on the 6th fret of the G string. Let the b & high E strings ring out open. Have fun with it :)
Ok awesome. That 4-8 stretch is just not something my hand can do without significant pain. So I’m gonna try a combo of this or I may simply start the rhythm chugging one bar early maybe no one will notice ;-)
