- GRANDPA A Mu made a long bench, the simple one used to be used for a long time, began to break, now made this durable, such a bench is all carpenters want and like the bench
this grandpa old just from the outside...but young from the inside.....may god bless you grandpa, i enjoy every video you made. thank you.
I love him so much, I wish each kid on this planet have a grandad like him.
🙏🙏🙏
You are also a good person
This man is in Paradise, and I do believe that besides carpentry work he has done his landscape as well just by watching the surroundings I wish very deeply all the world was like this ❤️ instead of the cost of living and watching people suffering because of all the wars and well I'll say no more, Beautiful Video 👍👍❤️❤️.
I am so humbled every time I watch Grand Pa Amu work. You are an inspiration. Please accept my respect from India. Thanks for sharing. Regards,
I love watching someone use their skills with traditional tools. This man is a master of his craft.
Maravilloso trabajo..
Love the fact that there's no nails, screws or glue involved. It's all held together with simple but effective joints. Very cool.
Who needs nails and glue?....hahaha...not grandpa
My favorite that I've learned watching this channel is the hidden wedge mortise and tannin absolute genius once that's put together that's never coming apart
ancient Chinese architectures dont use nails, search Temple of Heaven.
Always a pleasure watching you make something from nothing. Thank you for sharing your skills Grandpa.
GRANDPA AMU UD FUE Y SEGUIRÁ SIENDO MAESTRO DE MAESTRO CON TANTAS SABIDURIAS RECOPILADAS DURANTES AÑOS CON CADA TRABAJO SIN ESCONDER NADA DE SUS EXPERIENCIAS. PARA MÍ UD ES UN SÍMBOLO DE AMOR AL ARTE Y SU FAMILIA. SIEMPRE ESTARÁ EN MI CORAZÓN Y MI Sentir. Se. Miguel PANAMÁ
Dear grandpa,. I bow to you respectfully. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and life philosophy. Greetings from México, wish you a long AND thriving life.
Who else started with a bridge, went to a Luban table, and is now here... 😂😂🤯
Exactly that order, I ought to be sleeping but this man has given me so many ideas I'm excited for work tomorrow.
same bro ahahaha.
love for this man and his hands.
Same🤣🤣
Yep. 😂😂😂
Grandpa is awesome!
Zactly same order. Also appreciate the varied applications of his rope hold downs. Keep it simple .
This is one of my favorite things in craftsmanship. you make a set of tools, and later, when your skills increase, and you gain materials, you then craft SUPERIOR tools. this is a great example of a craftssman using tools to make BETTER tools, so he can then produce superior craftsmanship, and do so more easily!
Ii's heartwarming to see another old-timer as I am doing such beautiful and precise work as you have been doing in the simplest of conditions all by hand and few tools but powered with the spirit and willingness to do some hard work with your hands and a great mind for woodworking that you have been blessed with. At 68 I built my fig. 11 Roubo Bench and now I'm embarking on a wall-hung tool cabinet with double-double doors. We old-timers can still do it, it just takes a little hard work and desire to finish the job. BRAVO to you Sir. Job Well Done.
I am so humbled every time I watch Grand Pa Amu work. You are an inspiration.
Please accept my respect from Brazil. Thanks for sharing.
This man is one of the richest men in the world. He has everything.
The master craftsmen at work .when i get a chance i will make a bench like that you showed me the way . Thank you Grampa for sharing your experience and wealth of knowledge to us all that want to learn
Best carpenter ever seen. Thank you for sharing.
This guy is incredible - the skill, patience, accuracy - just amazing.
Yea the patience.......I would have never sawed that board full length with a hand saw.
@@flyerbob124 long grain cut with a bow saw!!!
Grampa! I love you...! May you have continued success and good health for years to come! 🙏
Best part was grandchild and him spending time at end
I could watch this man do his work all day long. I have watched him work all day long on my iPad. Every time I get thru with a video, I can’t wait to see the next one.
Un trabajo espléndido, saludos desde Perú 🇵🇪
A privilege to watch a Craftsman at work
Wonderful piece of woodwork
Skilled SMILES
A man of great ability and kindness. Long live grandpa Amu
I so enjoy watching you make things. Thank you for showing how you work.
Love your skills. Old ways are the best ways.pass them on..thx you for letting me see this
ABUELO AMU.... ^^
Very nice Grandpa Amu! Simple and elegant! Those long cuts? Wow you must be very strong! Thank you for another wonderful video!
I would absolutely love to spend a month studying with him so I could learn as much as I possibly could from him ,, awesome, beautiful handcrafted skills that took a lifetime to hone to make them look so easy
You are right; he is as accurate as a man can be, using the simplest of tools. It would have taken his lifetime to master them as he has done, and a lot of patience. He is to be admired.

As someone who has worked with his hands all my life I am truly in awe of this man and the skills that he possess with the most basic of equipment.
The best part of these videos is watching how his mind and hands work together to create something useful. He has become CZcams famous. Everyone's favorite grandpa and Craftsman
Amu it's beautiful how you start your video with relaxing zen music. Its a joy to watch you make awesome crafts. This bench will last forever. All your crafts has a special meaning because they were all made by you.Thank you a may God bless you and family.❤🤗🤗💪💪👍👍👍👍👍🙏🙏

God bless you, grandpa Amu...you make a good Job.
Grandpa Amu's videos are so nice and chill to watch!
His skill is so enjoyable to see. And its shot in a really nice way where its calming and you can really clearly hear all the sounds.
I also love the music.
Thank you for making these!
Grandpa reminds me of my dear father-God rest his soul-who was incredibly skilled with wood. He made amazing furniture some 40-50 years ago, that still stands in my mother's house. He had no power tools- just old school great skills. Wish I could have learned from him. He wanted me to sew instead😁😁😁.
Amu, you are very smart and wise men. God bless you.
Salute to you grandpa you are very hard worker. May God give you healthy long life. 🙏🙏🙏
For those of you who are not familiar with carpentry ..grandpa ripping (cutting alongside the grain) that wood 0:58 is actually really amazing. Im fat and went out of breath real quick when ripping a board that long. The skill is just on another level
Yeah man. That was sweet. Like a champ. I need that saw along with those skills. He's been really busting some true Handcrafted Freehanded Master Carpenter Game on his videos man. Dont need to tell me twice, I'll watch learn son!
Using a handsaw to cut straight lines is easy to mess up and not a skill easily perfected. It is much harder than it seems. Growing up I can't tell you how many boards I messed up and having my dad yell at me for not using the hacksaw properly.
probably didnt do it in one go- i know what you mean, ripping like that takes it out of you
this man is a wood genius, a wood spirit
Right sir.....
Grandpa Amu is absolutely amazing! What he creates with no power tools is remarkable. He is a true artist.👏👏🙏
Amu eres fantástico ..... admiro tu trabajo . Siempre los vemos desde Santiago de Chile . Saludos
Grandpa has strong, enduring muscles! To rip cut a board that thick and that long with a frame saw is no small accomplishment. I look forward to the next!
He's a pro legendary level, super mega carpenter :)
He has excellent cinematography and editing skills too and not to mention some very expensive cameras and lighting. He really does hide his skills, doesn’t he?
.
I'm humbled! With all the power tools at our disposal now, this humble wood worker reminds us what skill really is.
Saluti dall'Italia. You built a beautiful bench, congratulations. Greetings from Italy.
Thank you so much for posting this video - I have wanted to see for years how these benches were made. I see all of the history of woodworking and skill in your work, and it is interesting to see this style of tools we don't know much of in the West. Long life and very good health.
Love watching these. There is another featuring a woman who does some amazing work with bamboo. Just beautiful simple and functional. Awesome grandpa Mu!
What's the name of that channel.
@@myshadowkungfu I think that would be Liziqi.
He's a simple carpenter from his way of life to his tools that express that simple view .. I love everything he made, it's very delicate and skillful ..I wish grandpapa always healthy to be able 2 make great items
Before I realized he was building a new bench, I was like he needs to get himself a better bench. Mind absolutely blown
Lol!
I kept waiting for it to brake! Great video. Very relaxing.
Thank you grandpa🙏💕🌹🙏💕🌹🙏💕🌹
Love watching you work thank you for sharing. Health and happiness to your family
This may sound silly, but it's really cool watching someone across the world in a culture completely different from mine using tools I recognize and also use. It's great to, once again, see how similar people are all over the world. We're not as different as it seems sometimes. :)
Thank you grandpa for showing us how to make this bench. I've always wanted to learn how to make one.
Do you have enough honor to do this ? Can you do no better ?!!!
@@texaskidzuk yes I can.
We will see. East vs. West. My wood planeing skills against yours. First one to drop dead from exhaustion loses.
Grand pa is not only a tellented person but also a legend of his field .
Love your work! You are truly an inspiration :)
This is what I call HAND MADE! No powered tools. That's amaizing. Love it. Does anybody knows where I can download this nice music that plays at the background of video. Thank you in advance! 🙏🙏🙏
I knew it. That long bench he did would become his new workbench. Awesome grandpa.

And I wish you a happy life to you and your family..
Love to see Master builds a new house for himself❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
Q B BOOKE: I bet he lives in a condo and has air conditioning. A lot of other authors of these Chinese videos have the same. But, it would be cool to see him build a house. It’s very educational.
Magnificent work - Grandpa is a true craftsman!!! ❤️
You are thé best in the world.thanks .
I Truly enjoy watching you work and the level of skill that you demonstrate in your craftsmanship
This music is drifting down from heaven. There was a brief moment when he was using the planer in time with the music and all was right in the world
This is a real craftsman, making quality things with the crudest of tools.
Petrópolis-RJ Brasil
This is a tradition that should never die just given to the next generation
Grandpa Amu looks like a pretty good Grandpa. With very strong hands.
Yes! My mother grew up doing farm work and housework. When people grow up living off the land and building their own stuff they have strong muscles. I wish I did- I can barely open up a pickle jar😂😂😂
The lesson is.. You can do wonders with just a little tools you have around your house.. The rest is in your hand.. The bench looks very simple but very strong.. Grandpa nailed it whithout a single nail😃
Obrigado vovô pelo pouquinho de sua sabedoria.Abraço
I thought no way is he going to cut that board length ways with that hand saw. Wow grandpa incredible work.
Yeah. I would've gotten a 1/4th the way through before saying "ah, screw it, I'll buy it online."
boa noite, campeão, Amu.
