Thank you all SO much for believing in our farm & our channel. You guys bring so much joy to me
I just want to say I LOVE how encouraging you are in every video. Your pep talks mean so much to me! I love your channel and I am gardening because of you and Jess. Just planted my garlic and elephant garlic yesterday (yes very late but I did it) I hope on my channel I can be an encouragement to the people who watch me too🧡
I love all the floral knowledge you bring to the table!
I have always loved your beautiful heart Jill ❤️ Gid bless you and yours
I love dahlias. So looking forward to seeing all of yours. 💕💕🌻🌻
Great info. Thanks for sharing!!🌺🌸🌺
WOW! I had no idea u could do that!! You are like the flower whisperer
I’m a second gardener who grew dahlias for the first time this year. Amazed at how beautiful my kelvin floodlight dinnerplates turned out. Wish I could share a photo. They are gorgeous. I’m a proud momma
Hi Jill, I had no idea you can clip Dahlias like this. This information will help me double my Dahlias in my home garden when mine get to this stage. Love your channel. 💖💖💖
Enjoyed the video
I totally need to do this! Thanks girl!
here from fit foodie farmer !!!
I'm gonna try this, mine are pretty well established in pots and getting tall. Thanks Jill🌺🏵️
Omg ok hear me out you gotta get some chalk markers ,I use a brand called 'Bistro' bc you can write RIGHT ON THE POTS ❤️ seriously changes labeling plants . it cost like 2-4$ for one marker and I can soak the plants without having to worry about it washing away ,idk why but it stays on . As soon as you want it gone wipe it away with a damp cloth and boom good as new
Be sure to share updates on the cuttings. I love that you can multiply your investment. I know you are multiplying to keep for the flower farming, but if you wanted to sell extra tubers this fall/winter would you need a special license to be able to sell those? I am just starting to look into nursery license in our state, but I don't hear many people mention it. I have sold excess seedlings from my own garden seed starting before, but I am thinking about adding dahlias (both for cut flowers but also tubers if I have enough) and other potted and or propigated things to our farm offerings and I know in many circumstances a license and inspections with the state is required. Obviously there are royalties on trademarked varieties if selling, but just in general that is something I am starting to research and would love your take on that aspect.
Hi Jill!! I think you would love growing gladiolus. I usually get bulbs at lowes or Walmart but they’re super easy and beautiful to grow
Hi Jill! I am so excited that you are on a dahlia journey! I am on my second year, and have successful overwintered dahlias in my raised beds. ( Disclaimer, I'm not selling. But still an adventure in zone 8a) I have been a bit of a wimp when it comes to cuttings.😂 I tried unsuccessfully last year, but will try again. Blessings!
I’m always so scared to cut my plants and ruin them lol. Should you put cinnamon on the “mother” plant where you cut it too or no? Do you need to use a rooting hormone or any type of fertilizer to promote root development on the cutting?
Same questions here too...
Hiya Jill, Am I able to do a clipping like this on dahlias started from seeds? Or is the growing process from seeds completely different? I’ve saved a bunch of seeds from my dahlias this past year and hoping to start some from seed once spring comes (my season is opposite living in New Zealand).
I have the same question
I’ve heard dipping cuttings in cinnamon but also honey. What do you think about doing this? Is this how you would propagate other plants too, like sweet potatoes slips and tomatoes? Or just in water? I think propagation is a great way to get more for your buck 🤗🌱💚
Do you need to use a root stimulator? I just cut them and put them, dipped them
In cinnamon and then put them in soil. Will that work?
What is your soil mix, and thanks for a great video!
The walkers family of the CZcams channel (catching up with the Walkers) the have adopted two orphan children from the Cherokee nation!
That’s a lot of children I’m sure they’d like some words of encouragement OK
Thanks for sharing! This is my first year growing dahlias too and I am unsure what to do and feed them so this helps me alit, thanks! Hugs and love from Texas!
