Love that you are thinking about getting your PPL. I got mine last year in the PA-28s (Archer II, Cherokee). The JF Warrior II was the best plane to practice procedures...most accurate to the real thing. So glad they updated them. Plus it's a low wing, which is a lot of fun and different then most who train in the 152/172s. Good luck with your training...love your videos, been following for awhile!
Thank you Buddy!!
The reason the 182 pulls is that on their latest update recently, which was a good one, the rudder defaults slightly off center. You must center the rudder before flight (I forget sometimes) which, you know, is low, center below the throttle. Carenado did produce a small update to fix it but I purchased it in the Marketplace so I have to wait.
Sweet! Nice looking mod.
A little heads up, alternate static source is to the red knob to the left of the throttle, the red knob just above the fuel selector value is the fuel shutoff value.
Yes you absolutely can train and maintain skills with a home simulator, I do this myself at home. The simulator will not give you the "feel" or smell! of a real plane. However the sim can help you with the circular processing that is often required in aviation.

I don't think you were flying the improvement mod version, first clue should have been when you couldn't find the built in checklist.
There should be a number of new stuff in the cockpit such as the options ring binder down on the left, a clipboard for maps in the centre and an iPad and flight Manuel on the right.
Yeah, and the doors are operable in mod so it seems the mod didn't load properly
@@kret63 I also noticed that the plane he was flying had a really nice wood grain instrument panel.
I have to second or third that. No wood grain, no "Help instructions" and Developer Avatar on the left side of the panel near the STBY BATT red switch. No developer Avatar on the right side of the panel near the Hobbs meter and "Smoking prohibited" text. When I first loaded the new mod and I didn't see the wood panel, I started unloading all of the other 172 MODS out of my Community folder. Jumped back in, and the wood panel wasn't there but I noticed the Developers "Avatars" and the checklist on the upper dashboard. Also when the mod is installed, the registration is "C172SP". I think it would be nice when doing a demo of a mod to have everything removed from the community folder, and use the default livery of the aircraft so the people watching will see what the mod looks like when it is up and running and installed correctly.
@cdjonesus for some reason everything in the mod works for me, but I don't have the wood grain. I'm using the default livery for the mod, but it's the all plastic dash for some reason
@@russellmillett5642 The wood panel is a separate mod called Cessna 172 G1000 Wood Panel by desmanchaprazeres at FS TO
Turning ON pitot heat drew 2 amps extra current on your MFD and turning it back OFF caused the current to drop back by 2 amps to its previous level - so yes it was working
I got this mod, the 152 mod and the reims rocket mod all three are awesome mods to be honest
for me the 152 JP mod the screens like the GTN or 430 shows blank and or off
Wish there wasn’t so many issues with the 152 tho. Usually have to restart when I load in, tablet and radios freak out the first load.
I can't wait until somebody comes out with the skylane 182 turbo that would be cool
Heads up to all watching this he was not using the Improvement mod . Something wrong on his end as it did not load properly.
If the airport isn't busy and no one is following me I do a runup at or near the hold short line for the runway I am using.
By the way did you ever figure out if you can maintenance the g36 mod in the hanger that it comes with?
i have tried to insatll the mod several times, but still the vanilla 172. is it something i do wreong? i have unzipped the files and put them in to the community filder. shouldnt that be enough?
@overkill simulations how do you get the wood interior
How do you get that wooden panel?
overkill simulations how do you get the wood interior
You using the Tobii or the TrackIR again?
how do you get the wood interior
Please don't call the glare shield the dash.
Sorry, just noticed you corrected yourself.
how do you get the wood interior for the 172??
I've tried multiple times to answer but YT keeps deleting it so here's one last try but I'll have to be deliberately vague.
Its a repaint, go to the same place the realism mods available from and search in the repaints section for the 172.
It shouldn't be hard to find, it took me less than 5 mins to find it.
It would be awesome if you could use Pilotedge in these videos. It enhances the immersion a whole lot.
You can’t use flight sim for training, too many short comings.
