- Hey everyone! I finally bought a tire carrier for my Jeep TJ. This has been a needed purchase since I picked up the jeep nearly a year ago. The spare tire has been causing a small crack in the back passenger tub. So I was excited to install it.
I had several issues and the camera did not really capture all the frustrating moments. I hope this video helps someone decide if this would go with this bumper or not. I think this was the right purchase for me, for budget and personal needs.

You could get a brake light ring. They go on behide your spare tire and looks cool. Easy to wire up.
I have thought of that. I do hang a trasharoo bag while camping but thats just on occasion

Did you have to drop the gas tank to install it on your LJ? I also have an LJ and am looking at this bumper/tire carrier.
@@Bigby_Smalls Hi. I did not have to drop the tank. I do have a video on my youtube page with showing the swap out called "Off With The Chrome" if you want to check it out but basically the bolt holes lined up from the old bumper on the new

Mine shakes a little bit over eemvery bump, is that normal? Probably half inch shake when I push on it.
I had one it bent while using a cargo rack
Yeah over time, The rack did seem a little flimsy.
On the passenger side why didn't you remove the exhaust pipe from the exhaust hanger in order to get a better angle on the bolt.
It really wasn't the exhaust in the way but more the body mount. But I should have removed it to make it somewhat easier. Good point!
What did you have to do to put the license plate back on? Is it still holding up good for you? Thx
The license plate holder had to be modified some on one corner. I used a Dremel tool thing to get it right. I didn't like it much but it didn't look bad. The bumper carrier was really good for the price. I would buy it again. I actually sold the jeep awhile back. I'm in a JK now. Needed the room for the kids. Lol

The actual tire carrier for me didn't shake too bad. The cargo rack I had issues with.

Nice video but you have to wear goggles when under a jeep. Rust in your eye will ruin your week.
