windmill check is like the type of check that stops endlessly until all opponent's pieces are off the board!
"all"? "stops endlessly"?
Can't take all tho
😂😂😂😂@@vibovitold
No shit
The rook to the king: “Dormamu, I’ve come to bargain”
nice comment
😂
Underrated comment
Imagine being the first guy to get hit by the windmill and just see a rook and a bishop take your entire life savings 😂
Thats when chess look like checkers 😂
Just for a recap, the opponent of Emanuel Lasker was none other than Carlos Torre Repetto.
who?
@@brutal1635 google it. He had some famous games back then
You mean Carlos ... Repeato? :P
He went insane 😢😢
He was the mexican mafia boss
Humiliating experience 😂
agree. i once played as black and fell into a windmill tactic. the repeats of checks are the equivalent to a torture device on top of total material and positional loss
😂💀 unlucky @@fliegendeluftwaffeli835
@@fliegendeluftwaffeli835😂
They both lost queen and after wind mill when king move forward he is losing rook or bishop how is this winning
@@Babayagaom What are you talking about, after the exchange, White is up 3 pawns and the king side is completely decimated! White is absolutely winning
Getting windmilled is one of the most brutal things that can happen in Chess.
That dark square bishop worth 9 points easy
The moment you think you are winning but you are about to be a chess lesson for years to come 🤣
"His opponent" was one of the most talented players to ever exist and had a name: Carlos Torre Repetto.
He had to retire at age 21 and already competed against the elite of the world and a candidate for many to become World Champion. Have some respect.
He "had to" retire?
@@markus717 he had an illness so he had to retire young unfortunately
Got this tactics ones and my god it is so satisfying that my opponent not resign and lose his queen
he didn't want black's a8 rook to be active, that's why he didn't take on a7.
Ot was against the Mexican GM Torre Repeto.
Very classy not taking the a7 pawn. It’s not worth it to trade the A pawns while activating your opponent’s rook
And then he sacrifices THE QUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think leaving a7 was good. it blocks the black rook from some kind of rally.
Also although this looks, and is, bad . Black could move Kg6 threaten both Bishop and Rook. so if white saves the rook then black could take Bishop and would only be behind 2 pawns and a really lousy strategic position.
After ... Kg6
Pg4, Kxf6
Rxh6+ and white has 4 healthy pawns up. I guess it's pretty hard for you to defend it if you're black
You get h6 back if the king takes bishop, so it would be down 3 pawns, and the king is completely open with inactive pieces.
if he takes the bishop you take on h6 and black's king side is completely decimated, big advantage for white
For those who are wondering why the rook didnt take the A file Pawn, because it opens a big file for the opponent rook
This happened to my opponent a few days ago
my man went from an +1 situation to being 11 points down
Bf6 in this position certainly brilliant everyone should know, thanks.
R rated chess games 😂😂
Spammers be like:
he could've took an extra pawn in a7
This is the worst situation in chess, like ever. Opponent is just toying with you and you can't do anything about it.
I had this windmill in my first tournament I never saw anything like it again
I saw the grab the queen right away. Grabbing the pawn first is just devious 😂
The black king can move to g6 attacking both the rook and the bishop
Bro humiliated and win😅😂
Hmm... Interesting...
That a7 pawn crying in a corner
I remember the first time I did this... I couldn't stop laughing!
😂bro was playing that one unblockable move on Mk on repeat
The guy who did this it was the Mexican grand master Carlos torres repetto
Also known as El Repeato hasta Muerte
I got a windmill once that was so dirty idk if I captured like 5 pieces back and forth
You can use windmill tatic with knight too and its fun when opponent is resign😂
Im disappointed. He didnt take the pawn 😢
Premium Torture 😂
Not taking a7 as a Gm is a federal crime
He didn't take it because he don't want to activate the black rook dum dum
I just did this. Opponent resigned
Got windmill checked in a bullet game once. So frustrating but i cheesed my way out of it after 3 checks by blocking with the queen which they didn't expect and going on to win 😅 gotta love bullet 😂
That a Genjutsu
Bro activated his trap card
i would have taken every piece on that file, even the a7 pawn just to make sure
I like this, well played.
Its like stopping time
i did this and captures all pieces but a rook on the 8th file and then blundered mate in one
that was beautiful
I’m greedy I woulda grabbed the a pawn too
Just remember that after this combination, black has Kg6 so will win the bishop and only be down two pawns. For those commenting about taking on a7, I personally wouldn't since it gives black's rook activity and will easily win your a pawn, which would leave you with two isolated pawns on the b and d file, which would weaknesses in the end of the day and the game may end in a draw given how solid black's pawns are compared to yours. It may still be winning, I'm just speculating from a positional standpoint.
It's so fustrating as an opponent
Nah, he probably did not think he was winning. I mean this pattern was sooo obvious.
I actually play a more crazy pattern of this same idea
I resign when I see this...
Yeah I call that the old whipsaw
Brutal way to go down
You missed a pawn
Nah you activate the rook and it will just take back on a2
Should’ve taken the pawn too just for the sake of it
Nah you activate the rook and it will just take back on a2
you could've taken another btw
Brutal!
I did this once. Greatest game ever
Only for one more pawn jajsja
Okay, once it's all said and done, can't black just play King to G6 to recapture either the rook or bishop? I don't see a way for him to defend both pieces
Yes, but White win the game
@@RMT.2 Skill Issue
That was awsome..i wish i could see moves like that..ive only been playing for a few months and i found out im really good at the end game but i dont know the openings and it gets me in yrouble
Im.the complete opposites. Good on then opening, and mid, but suck at the end. Granted, I'm finally getting better because I've done over 3000 puzzles lol
why not take the pawn too
that's what I call it :dududududduududududududududuud(darude sandstorm)
Should've take the pawn too haha
Nah you activate the rook and it will just take back on a2
Forgot to take the pawn
Its worse to do that
Kpg6 !!
Sandstorm dududu😂😂
what if he played Rh3
What move would you recommend instead?
Who was Lasker playing at that time? Capablanca? His name should be on it like Boden's mate!
I'm not just a Uniform
lasker vs torre ?
Bro you can gram 1 more pawn
The guy is up a piece and 2 pawns with superior piece activity and king safety but the comments section is talking about the a7 pawn as if it makes any difference HAHAHA
What about Kg6 after the windmill?
You win back a piece & are still down 3 pawns for a lost position after Rh3 Kxf6 Rxh6+
Song?
How tf did I see that and I’m 500 elo
Why not saying Carlos Torre Repetto instead of "white"?
Great move but it is important to remark it wasmade by mexican GM Carlos Torre Repetto again the one and only Lasker
I saw that name in another comment and thought "Repetto" was making a joke!
Who was the opponent?
You can capture one more pawn
No. Leave the pawn at a7. It blocks Black's rook.
@@Akitrom besides, you'll lose the a2 pawn that way, so it's not even a gain but an exchange of material
How can Lasker walk into that kind of tactic?
He just didn't see Bf6, and it leads to mate so he couldn't back out once it happened. I'm guessing instead of resigning at Bf6 that he was being a good sport to let the opponent reap their deserved rewards.
Devastating
Can't black play Kg6 after R×h5
He can win back the bishop that way and white take another pawn on h6, so white has +3 pawns and has black's king side completely decimated, while white's king is safe and cozy
Couldve picked up a free pawn before taking the Queen too
Nop
@@giovannip8600 yes
Rook takes pawn on A7 check, king forced move to G1
Rook moved to G2 check, king force move to H1
Rook moves to G5 check, king force move to G1
Rook takes queen on H5
By the time that line is finished i have achieved a pawn, and queen before he can even get that open rook in the game
@@slaymyface1357 you're just freeing his rook and giving him your pawn as a target, so more like a trade except he gains activity
@@giovannip8600 i understand that but by the time he is finally able to use that piece the game is already over
After rook g7, wasn't it rook g8 checkmate
No the king will simply take the rook
@@kayemni oh, yeah. Thanks, I didn't see that
After this sequence is over it's not so easy to win, black has the move king to g6, a double attack on the f6 bishop and h5 rook. You cant defend both pieces on the same move, meaning white will have to give up their bishop. White would be up 2 pawns but again, it's still not a "free" win.
You can drop your rook back to h3 or play g4, and if king takes bishop, you play Ng4+ or rxh6+. Either play you can capture the pawn on h6. Your pieces are active, the black king is completely exposed and his only path to safety deactivates his pieces. This _should_ be fairly easy to convert.
yeah but for a world champion being up 2 pawns in a endgame with more pieces activity generally means a win
White will be up 3 pawns as he can take with a check on h6 after Kxf6, and the king side is completely decimated, if white doesn't blunder it is an easy win, and remember they are GMs this big of an advantage very often leads to a win
What if king g6
Lol white rook controls the 6th rank
@@jomama3465idiot,his question is out of your brain....lol😂😂🤣
That's the best move, and one that was played in the game.
White does give back some of the material advantage. The Rook retreats to Rh3 (Rh4 works too), Kxf6 taking the Bishop and Rxh6+.
So yes, White has to give up a Bishop for a pawn at the end.
However White is still 3 pawns up, and the Black King is out in the open, whereas the White one stays safe.
In other words, it's totally winning for White regardless.
@@jomama3465at no point in this combination is the White rook placed on the 6th rank.
most of the windmill is executed by sliding it along the 7th rank, then it drops down to the 5th rank to take the Queen, so i'm not sure what you mean.
there are eight ranks on the board, so the last but one is the 7th.
@@vibovitold yup my bad. I was drowsy when I wrote my comment. I meant to say that black king cannot go to g6.
...Kg6
No rxa7?
No, because that gives black some play in the a file. If he takes, White's a pawn hangs and he wants to consolidate his advantage and prevent Black from getting any activity
Why not take the Queen with the discovered
I was thinking the same.
am confused, he did take the queen!
The windmill is the strongest position in chess, you can literally get every piece on the board (depending on the position)
What if black plays kg6
The king is check by the bishop not the rook
Igor, you should say the name of white player, just for respect.
Thanks.
Bsshop
This is what Magnus Carlsen would call “the Sandstorm”
Should've taken the a7 pawn too. What a gentleman.
