Barbara Hendricks John Williams Christmas at Boston Pops 1990 Exquisite angels we have heard on high - go tell it on the mountain - let there be peace on earth
It"s a shame that we don't get to see enough of Miss Hendricks here in the U.S.. I have always loved her and her voice. I guess you could say I had a crush on her.
So glorious a voice. This lady deserves all the praise she gets.. You are so beautiful and classy, that is why you have always been my favorite soprano. No one will ever change that for me. LOL xoxo
Not only impeccably performed, but very well sound-mixed, considering how many competing voices there are. Every glorious detail comes through .Evening at Pops always had genre-leading production values.
I remember this concert from PBS. It was fantastic. I wish PBS would put there concerts on dvd for sale during there pledge drives. They will exceed the sales goal, I'm sure of this
Remember well watching the original airing in Boston many years ago with my brother who was visiting at Christmas. Outstanding! Thank you so much for posting.
Hello! I love this. I have it on VHS. My mom recorded it when I was 9 years old and we watch it every year. I believe that it's from Christmas of 1991 though, not 1990. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for posting! I recorded this by chance on VCR the night it aired in 1990, and then transferred the audio to cassette since I enjoyed it so much. Sadly, I now have no means to play either, so it was great to hear this again. Amazing performance - it just doesn't get any better than this!
Beautiful music, attire not so much. 1 Timothy 2: 9-10 : "In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works."
I remember watching this with my Grandmother.
Simply glorious 🙌
Thank you so much Barbara Hendricks for your marvellous singing...your voice tells us - somehow - from another, better world...
Merci, merci beaucoup pour cette magnifique vidéo sur cette merveilleuse cantatrice !!! Je ne me lasse pas de l'écouter ...

Thank you very much for posting! Would you happen to have the rest of this Christmas concert and if so, be willing to upload it please?
Do you have the whole Christmas at Pops special recorded? I would be interested in obtaining a copy.
