    In this video, we will explain the clock, schedules, features, and operation of the Inside Pentair EasyTouch Panel. This is for both new owners and current pool owners. Understanding your pool control panel will save you energy, money and ultimately frustration. It’s important to run your pump enough to filter all the water in the pool once per day. Generally that means 8hrs a day. In the summer increase this one a few hours as the water gets warm and algae wants to grow.

    Jake great video!! I do have a question though in the past I had the option to use solar in the spa on a schedule for one hour. Since my pool heater had this error, pool guy came out and fixed that. Now the spa only comes on with the heater not with solar. Do you know a fix? I live in Nevada so I used to heat up the spa with solar instead of using the gas heater. I do have the Easy touch system and remote.

    Can I run the pool pump on a saltwater chlorine pool , with the intellichlor off ?? I think the salt cell turned off the pump. Any suggestions?

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  Před 2 měsíci

      Yes, you can. But I don’t know why you would. Anytime the pumps running you should also run your chlorine generator. The concept is it’s producing a little bit of chlorine at all times and leaching into your clean water flow keeping thingsbalanced. If it’s producing too much chlorine instead of shutting off completely, you should just go into the basement intelichlor menu and turn down the percentage. For example, I’m only running mine at 15 or 20% right now. if you wanna shut it off completely go into that same menu and where it says click no. And that way you can shut it off for a few days if you don’t want to produce any chlorine. Does that make sense?

    Thanks Jake. This was a very informative video. Maybe you can answer a question I have regarding the Self Test. I ran the test and received an error Code 4. Everything I have found regarding this says, water behind the buttons? My panel is inside the garage and never exposed to water splashes or our hands wet when pushing any buttons. Is there another reason that could cause the Code 4 error? Trying to resolve without a service call from Pentair. Thank you.

    ( I have checked the time and date)
    What should I check if the schedule is not working ?

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  Před rokem

      It’s got to be some type of programming air. Either the days of the week, the word schedule up at the top, the actual piece of equipment you’re trying to schedule whether it be the filter, pump, light, etc. I just checked mine and it looks straightforward but I’m sure it’s easy to make one little mistake. I would reference my video and make sure that your schedule screen looks just like mine for the piece of equipment you were trying to schedule. I hope that helps you let me know.

    Hi Jake, will the EasyTouch light control work for a currently installed non-pentair pool light?

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  Před rokem

      Yes. The basic turning on and off will. If you have a fancier colored light, you may need to cycle the switch on and off to change colors. Or if you haven’t even fancier pool light then than that, then it would not integrate with Pentair. But if you just have a normal pool light then the Pantera control panel has a relay inside to turn it on and off.

      @Fix It With Jake I just got a simple color changing LED pool light I bought off Amazon. I had it hooked up to a 12v transformer. The pool light also came with a separate hand-held remote for all the color changing stuff. Hi. I have this control panel for my pool. I want to add in the Pentair salt generator IC40. Do I need the pentair intelliChlor power center or I can connect the salt generator IC40 to this easy touch panel?

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  Před rokem

      You should be able to plug into it directly. With that said, it’s kind a hard to let you know without seeing your exact panel and features. Look at the bottom of your panel on the exterior. On the bottom left side, you should have a black port for your saltwater generator to plug into and be powered by this control panel. Also, are you able to see the feature in the menu?

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  Před rokem +1

      Oh good. Then 90% sure it will be plug and play. But I could be wrong. You might need the transfer inside the box to power it. I am not sure if all the control with that out of the box. I have called the company Pentair several times asking questions about things like this and they’re super easy to talk to. I would call the one 800 number and ask them. Be sure to have your serial number written down for them. You can get that inside the menu of the control panel at the very end.

    how did you separate the pool and spa light on the panel ?

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  Před rokem

      There is room for 7 “features” on this panel. So feature 2 is pool light and feature 3 is spa light. And then it comes with little stickers that you can put over the button to label it. Inside the menus go to settings>circuit names and u can label the features digitally as well. Inside the box the lights are wired separately to tyr control panel.

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Yes, you could add it. But most people are adding the Wi-Fi phone option instead. That way you can control your pool and hot tub in any room in your house or even when you’re away from home. And it’s probably the same price if not cheaper. I have another video on how to add that yourself. Put the link below. As far as the heater, look for a box out on your pool pad that has a gas pipeline attached to it usually has a yellow valve to turn the gas line on it off. it will also have a big exhaust pipe on one side. If it’s an electric heater or a heat pump, it’ll be a big box as well without the exhaust pipe because it’s using electricity. If you wanna send a photo of your pool pad to my email, I can help you out with that part. czcams.com/video/c806qqqEoKI/video.htmlsi=2t-ME8Y8dEngwFAH

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  Před 7 měsíci

      Ya I do. I’ll try to film that today. But honestly it’s 100x better to just leave your landscape lights plugged in. And open the light transformer box and install a $20 wifi switch. Then program it on a schedule to come on 5 mins prior to sunset. That way it will track the time changes throughout the seasons and always come on at the right time before and after daylight savings time. I’ll try to film a CZcams short on that. If you have a big mental box like me this switch should fit inside and stay dry. If u need a waterproof one they make those too. amzn.to/3MAlr95

    • @fixitwithjake

      If you have landscape lights, you’ll have a second metal box or sometimes a black plastic box that has the transformer to convert the power from 120 V down to low 12v That’s the box that you need to add the Wi-Fi timer to.

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  Před 10 měsíci

      It is trying to tell you that there is no communication to the cell from the control panel. Turn off the power before touching or unplugging anything. Either the cable is damaged or not fully plugged in. But if those all look OK that I would turn off the power to everything to just reset it. If that doesn’t work, it could be a defective cell. Are the green lights turning on flashing on your cell whenever you turn your pump on? If it is that you know it’s getting power. If it’s dark, then you know there’s a power issue to that cell.

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  Před 8 měsíci

      Don’t worry. This is normal and expected. It means you have a delay set in the programming. The pool installer did this. It means it took your selection but it’s going to flash for a few mins (however long the delay was set) before the cleaner starts. They do this to make sure there is adequate water supply before the cleaner pump turns on. So no big deal and it is performing as it was programmed.

    Don’t see waterfall feature on our new Pentair.

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  Před rokem

      It is available on on the newer models. You just need to either put a sticker on one of the aux buttons and program it. Or program it and use your phone app to turn it on. Basically you just ramp up the pool pump to run near 100% and divert all that water to the spa (with your auto valves) So it will overflow into the pool. I program it twice a day to run to push all the leaves out of the spa so the robot can pick them up :)
