This would be crazy-making for a smart dog like that. He would get anxious, distressed and maybe even aggressive eventually because the signals he is getting are nonsense.
By the way, if you hurt a dog, you teach a dog that hurting others is what leaders do. So, when he bites a child, just know, you are the only one to take that blame, not the animal.

Standard practice to put your knee up to stop a jumping dog. You are soft as fuck if you think in any way this is harming the dog.

My cousin has a red and a blue who are brother and sister from the same litter; Jasper and Bonnie. Their registered names are Red Jasper and Blue Bonnet Girl. Anyway, to make are long story even longer, those two wrestle and play nonstop. But when her kids are around they slow down and look after them like they are their own herd. Great dogs.

Yep that's how they are lots of work. My Cali is two and sometimes I have to remind myself to be firm with her. I love her so much! But they are stubborn they will test you all the time.
I have two sons(actual humans(1 and 3) and I was exhausted with them already, then I had to fall in love with owning a heeler. Yup more gray hairs of the good kind and Im only 27 lol sheesh

How do you get them to stop doing this? It does not feel like playing.
I think that each dog/ situation is different. All it really comes down to is time and effort. This is a very stubborn breed
Work them train them get them actively doing something else take charge like alpha… think like a dog not a person when approaching their mentality

I have a miniature blue heeler female that plays just like that with our other older male dog.
This is not an attack this is him playing this is wrong that it was worded that the heeler is attacking heelers didnt attack.if he was going to attack that guy would have been on the ground because I've seen my boys take down 1100 pound bulls. This is how dogs get a bad reputation and its wrong.

I never had a male healer I've had several female healers I've got one female now and never been attracted to anything like my Roadie I don't go anywhere without her

I'm still trying to figure out if my Toby is purebred. He's larger than average, 71 lbs. But the brown coloring is missing. If you look closely, he looks like a mix of Blue and Red Heeler. The dark brown patch on his face is brindle.

There is a Western Heeler from California that started with ranchers to make them bigger after WW2. If I remember German Shepherd was used & another breed. Also the State of Texas did the same & they are Texas Heelers if I recall. Under 75 lbs it's a good chance it's one of these types of Heelers. Maybe a good place to start anyway. They can do DNA now on dogs at your Veterinarian office. My Heeler is half Australian Cattle Dog & a quarter German Shepherd & a quarter Australian Shepherd which isn't from Australia which is another interesting fact. My Heeler is a Heeler on STEROIDS is what I say. 20 lbs & only 3 months 😂

How do u stop jummping
There are quite a few methods you can try. From what I hear the most effective one is to ignore the dog when they do it but each dog/ situation will be different. I would google or CZcams some methods to try and see what works best for you and your dog

He is awesome smart looks just like you blue and he gets so excited he acts identical.
Mine control big bulls when you teach him a little more he want be so excited I'm working with turbo he is a good and loyal buddy gets excited when he don't know what I'm asking him to do so I train with liver treats and bold commands.hes learning and so will that good looking pup.
