Marvel United - How to paint Captain America

- So I started with Captain America and decided to try painting very differently to how I would normally paint! Took a long, long time but I think he came out looking great! What do you think?
How do you feel about this video? Is it as useful as recording as I paint? Is it very much worse? It was a lot easier to paint off camera and then talk about it, but it's not my intention to do this often...

Let me know if you find this video useful? I don't normally bother recording a video about anything I paint off camera, but thought I'd see if it's any help to you guys this time!
I just recently got back into the hobby after many years and I much appreciate this. Especially mentioning things like how many coats, how thin the paints were and mentioning alternatives. Those were super handy in the video and helped me understand the why behind things as opposed to typical tutorials which just tell you to dry brush x then shade with y.
This is exactly what I needed to help me painting this mini and it inspired me to change up what I've been doing. Do far it's turning out to be my best mini yet.

Very useful. Was wondering if you can make a video of painting chibi eyes for future video’s of you painting marvel united character. The way the eyes are being painted is great.

Great video. I’ve never painted before but want to try it on marvel United. I’ve read everywhere you need to prime but with these game Color paints I won’t need to? Do you have to base coat or just paint directly onto the mini?
Will they hold up with handling?
I was going to buy the army speed paint but it says prime first.
I never prime with Vallejo game colour range, and in 5 years I’ve had zero problems! Army painter you need to spray/brush on prime before painting. It’s not a problem at all! We have a video on the channel about priming :)

What are the differences between Vallejo brands. I just bought the regular Vallejo. But does game brand do anything (aside from not needing primer)
Honestly I haven't noticed a difference between Game Color and Model Color - both are great with dense pigment.

This video is quite different to normal! I’d painted it completely off camera - I had no intention in making a video for it, so in this video i talk about everything I did and used to get this result. Looking for feedback on how useful this video is! It won’t be the norm, but I paint things off camera and could be nice to share the occasions I do that :-)

Holding a baby while painting? Is this a thing? Hold a baby helps paint minis? Will anyone’s baby do? Did you buy yours? Or like most people find them in the park? Is a male or female better for blending?(paint not in a food processor). Or have I miss read this, and you hold the baby so it can paint the mini? Anyway, what game is the mini from?
:-D :-D :-D holding a baby helps with concentration by removing the screaming loud entity from the room. It’s also great strength training so you can grip your miniatures tighter. Over time the baby will hopefully absorb your painting skills and technique and will eventually paint your backlog for you!!!

I've only ever painted 2 minis. The 2 you get in the two different painting sets. I've got the ultimate pledge of marvel united and have already backed the x-men united. I'm terrified to paint minis though....
Have no fear! I’d never held a paint burgs in my life a few years ago and I’m still guessing my way through the hobby and work has always made me very happy! All painted miniatures by all levels of painters look better than naked plastic!!
Not sure if you ever started painting but don't let nerves stop you. I almost didn't do it for the same reason. You gotta go for it and just start putting down paint, more knowledge and ability will come with time.
I really like most of the paint job, but those beady little pupils are terrifying.

FYI Captain America's "powers" are that the super soldier serum gave him peak human strength and athleticism as well as making him age slower. Love the model too!
1:46 That's America's butt! What's your opinion on brush on primer? It's the one I use if I'm just doing a player character and not a bunch of zombies or soldiers.
I think it’s fine! I tend to apply it a bit like dry brushing, build up a couple of thin layers and then paint my base coat on top of that. I like the speed of spray on primer but I feel like there’s a lot less control

Captain America doesn't really have super powers. The Super Soldier Serum gives him peak-olympian level strength and stamina and slows the aging process and he's naturally gifted with people, tactics, and geometry. He's only slightly more super than Batman, but he got there through a drug instead of billionaire money and secret ninja training.
I think one thing as the movies keep coming along I dislike is the huge power difference between the heroes :-( I’m a fan of efficiency and dislike the weaker heroes doing the hero job slower :-D I’m not a fan of Batman either :-D but at least neither are Hawkeye or Black Widow :-D :-D
