Probably cuz most think he's complicated even though his less complicated tools are all that's needed unless you wanna really master him.

Nah I think the least played characters are Havik and Rain, I’ve literally ran into 2 other Rain mains since I started playing the game. I’ve been playing since the pre testing beta.

I think if Geras had 1000 health base like almost everyone else, he’d be picked a lot more often. I don’t get why he has the health disadvantage to begin with
cause he can regenerate health
Even so....hes definitely not bad so why arent people using Geras more?
Because Geras has a Combo Breaker that costs 1 bar and regenerates all the health he lost from the combo. Thats why he can't have 1000. Similar to Nitara having a life siphon why she also doesn't have 1000. In a game where combos do 40-45% easy sometimes a character that can regen life is really strong
I don’t understand why Quan chi has 900 health and Geras has 950. That’s the real question. Nitara should have 950 health and Geras should have 900, cause Nitara can’t regenerate as good as Geras. What can Quan do? Zone you out? Why does he have 900 health? #givequanchi1000health

It’s weird, on paper Geras sounds like he’d be super fun, good command grab, good mid, high damage etc, but for some reason I’ve just never wanted to play him. He’s the only character who’s combos I haven’t peacticed a all

As they already made the cupcake look in the elf skin, I kinda wish the UMK3 Reptile skin made his lizard form just bright green like the OG ninja suit. Just a missed opportunity imo.

Did you guys see scorpionprocs made a tier list. geras was actually pretty low. Maybe its true
Its funny because he has arguably 2 of the 5 best special moves in the game (reverse time and double time) but his normals are not where its at unfortunately. If it wasn't for his crazy damage hed really be in a world of hurt but for now I think it keeps him useable

He gets out zoned too easily. No counters against the Reiko spammers or the Quan Chi s or the Kitanas.
You need to make the right read with snap which is difficult. My best advice is to always instantly spend the bar to get snap back if you land it. Like f44(clock amp) or b12(clock amp) while they are still frozen. If they are doing a good job not getting hit by snap then they may be paying attention to your clock count, in which case just by having the threat of snap you should be able to slow down the zoning war and get in using their respect.
Also picking a kameo that helps against the zoning can be a good idea. Motaro is good for geras and the reflect helps in those matchups. Sareena forward projectile is very fast and comes back incredibly often and is super + on hit so it can also be really good.
@frogaroach Reikos reload is to quick. Doesn't let you charge from distance. And the problem is getting in to get a charge on freeze.
Sub-zero's shield is obsolete since ex projectile destroys it. Motaro helps the most. But too much recovery time cant attack after reading projectile.
And quan chi gets free standing 4's all day from a distance
And then I pick Motaro and then I get nothing but Johnny Cages as opponents
Geras sucks! He is so fun, but all his buttons suck so much. Any reptile gives me problems because compared to Geras, reptile is A class!

I love Geras. He isn't broken, so many won't play him. Plus, he has so many moves that leave him open. Which sucks.

Lao hat shouldn’t b in the game some ppl just running waiting for it so they can put u in situation really hard to block that’s all they do no skills at all same goes for a lot of the kameos ppl abuse them the wrong way that make ppl

I recommend you watching Zaming as a Nitara main or XharkXlayer as a Tanya main. Or NinjaKilla and SonicFox as they play various characters
Rarely used cause he’s too damn complicated, bro wants to have 50+ special moves and most them are bad or not ideal. Too many forbidden strings as well.
