When your guests connect all they need to put in the Server Address is the name of your Domain Name, for example: websplaining.com

Hii, can you please answer this question. How would I have the name go to a specific port like if it was originally something like 192.157.1.43:2358 as an example?
To change your servers port you need to open the server.properties file. Once done, edit the line which says "server-port=25565". In your comment, you gave 2358 as an example. Simply change it to "server-port=2358" and don't forget to save.

I use Namecheap and I recently realized that some people don't see the server on the server list if they use a custom domain.
(this only applies to some people living in some individual countries) Do you know can I fix that?
For me sometimes the domain will work for other people but not me and sometimes its the other way around, it is very annoying
Hi there, I'm using cloudflare and I put in my A record and I still can't connect to the custom IP. I'm hosting manually, I have the port setup but what should I put in to the server-ip box in server.properties?

im having the same exact issue, my pub ip works but the domain wont connect on the minecraft client side
you need to set the nameservers pointing to cloudflare, also you need to wait 48 - 72 hours for the nameserver change to take effect. if you have the default port (25565) then its good, but otherwise you need to also create a srv record or connect using domain.com:port

So my problem is, that it points to a diffrent server. My server has a port, but I cant add it to the domain site, and it picks the server that does not have the port to it but same ip. What can i do?
Hey, you have have your players type the port number at the end, like testserver.us.to:25565 or whatever port it is on
add a srv record.

You don't need to add a port next to the ip. If your minecraft server port isn't 25565 then lookup a video that says how to setup a domain without a dedicated ip, if it is then just dont add a port next to it

I've tried multiple things but it's not working for me.
I tired my IPv4 and my Public ip, waited 48 hours for both, and yet it just wont connect.
Am I doing it wrong?
