Flat Out Friday Prep - Setting Timing On A Bultaco Astro

- In preparation for Flat Out Friday I stopped over at CR Astro Co. to visit with Charlie Roberts. He showed me the proper way to set the timing on my '75 Bultaco Astro 250 with a VAPE ignition. The bike kept jumping timing every time I rode it, so he went ahead and used valve grinding compound on the crank to help keep it set. If you need anything Bultaco related Charlie is your guy, be sure to hit him up! Any questions about the bike feel free to ask, enjoy 👍🏻

I used to race the pursang back in the early 70s and used to watch my mechanic work on it like you were doing man brings back great memories, those Bultaco7 were the best
Awesome bike and interesting video. Who knew that Bultaco made flat trackers. It's always fun to see these vintage bikes run. Bultaco sure got the sound right 👍

Who new? Bwaahahaha Surely you can't be serious? They were only THE DOMINANT BRAND in flat track in the 250 class and in the open class against everything except an XR750 Harley.
@@davidkeeton6716 Well. Shows how much I know. If it's not a Japanese trail bike then I know nothing.
This is awesome, Ive had a few Bultacos over the years. Current one is a Frontera 370 with Pursang plastics/tank.
Man of chocolate colored wheels...get some gold rims on your bikes..enough with the choco bike look...nice taco btw.🎉🎉
Nice!
Is that a FEMALE threaded cap? Where did you get it? I have an aluminum tank on my M87 Pursang with the leaky flip up monza cap. I need a female thread cap to go on in place of that lousy cap. Anybody, please help.
How do you get in contact with Charlie Roberts at CR Astro Co. ? I have of course looked online and can't find anything directing me to him.
Fiiiuuuu..!!!
Looks like indoor gearing on that taco
yep! geared for 1/16th mile indoor concrete.

Would love to buy a Astro but with shipping then duty from the states its too expensive. So bought a few mark 6 Pursang project's years ago but missing parts to build a Astro.
they’re hard to come by either way! those pursangs are cool too 👊🏼
Who's Charlie, am looking for 146 sleeve/piston.
Charlie Roberts at CR Astro Co. Tell him Nick Rumbold sent ya 👍🏼 he’s got what you need
What ignition is this you are running?
vape ignition! only way to go. stock ignition had weak and intermittent spark.
@@NickyCakewalk thank you
@@NickyCakewalk why dont yall run a pvl on them.i run one on my 250cc kart engine instead of the stock..a place called buller built actually has one that has a button you can change the timing curve for slick or high bite track
Interesting video BUT get rid of that music…
