- Professional competitive play takes a lot of commitment for Flesh and Blood. What sort of reward system would have to be there to make it worth taking the risk for me? Will next years circuit make it viable for more people to chase the dream?
Let's talk about it while the Bright Lights madness continues.

Organized play has grown A LOT recently, i remember watching the OP page in fabtcg and having a major event every couple months. Now every week you can see multiple battle hardened firing off, more callings as well. I've been playing the game for two years without a local scene but i'm still able to travel to a couple places per season and it's always a great experience. I can't approach events from a basis of value because spiking any non-professional event barely covers the costs, but if i view it as a way to slide in a small trip and spending time with people i enjoy then it all becomes exciting and worthwile.
This is the best way to look at it right now.
I thinnk the vast majority of us can settle for the option of pro quests, nationals, and callings that are semi local. Anything else for those on a budget is just a wait for one to be closer to your location re pro tours, worlds
There is plenty of fun to be had! Even if there was a full "pro" scene, most people wouldn't be in it.
I genuinely don't know what it would take to make Professional play worthwhile for most adults with careers and family. It's not simply the financial costs of travel / lodging / food / event entry / cards, it's the time needed to practice, hone your deck, and attend events. Approaching 40, I'm probably more competitive than I've ever been, but also acknowledge that the idea of ever playing more than a few big events a year is simply unrealistic and doesn't align with my business and family goals. Wish this game was around when I was in college.
I hear you on that! Would have loved to have had this game 15 years ago 😁 I guess my point was that it would be amazing if you could get to the point where financially it could work for someone even with all the family commitments.
Yeah I've thought about this, and unless the game has wider margins and event organizers do as well, if the prize pool was increased the costs would just be passed on to all the players in terms of increased event entry costs or package costs.@@mastersetmadness
@@riddlermangaming3533 This is where sponsors are needed. You need enough people watching that companies (outside the tcg world) want to start advertising.
Well also, serious players need to learn how to promote themselves to businesses for sponsorships as well. Top 8's are on camera often, maybe your sponsor gives custom sleeves to advert their business and they cover travel and event costs. But yeah, if you wanna be a pro player, find a way to do what pro athletes and players do.@@mastersetmadness
Knew you were hiding the good boxes on us!😂
I filmed this over a week ago 🫠 I wanted to see ya'll get some big hits!!
Loving these videos! Split one box with a friend and got an extended art war machine. So im done with the set haha.
Not seen anyone i know get a cog yet and you just keep bringing the heat haha.
Those cogs are sneaky.
I like to play competitively but it's really tough traveling further distances. At least us in Minnesota have a lot of stores that support it, 4 PQs this season! You attending any of them?
Not sure, haven't had much time for competitive play the last couple of months. We are pretty lucky around here :)
Face breaker M should be off right, we pulled one in the pack battle? Here's all the good hits also😂
Indeed it should. This was recorded and edited prior to the battle.
@@mastersetmadness Ohh, I gotcha
@@jacobrufus7718 The next few videos were all recorded on release weekend.
@@mastersetmadness Cool, here's to hoping you finish the master set!
So so competitive…orcs and elves.
Indeed :)
