Absolutely FANTASTIC Presentation!!! -- Very well done -- I loved it! Really cool to see complete disassembly and full understanding of what parts allow / prevent rotation upon full "push" of "plug" assembly. This is a fascinating and quite interesting lock that you have explained so very well. Also help with understanding different "Fichet" companies was great. Comparison to "Crapset" (Kwikset) "Dumb Key" (Smart Key) quite laughable. Can't wait for more...

On an engineering point of view the system used to allow rekeying locks is interesting and works quite well. Unfortunately on a security point of view they did not make their job correctly, and a lot of design decisions lead to security flaw which may or may not have been obvious at the time the lock was designed.

@@TheLocksNest Yes Kwikset Smart Key interesting and reliable design, but made from "cheap" components and quite weak -- easy to break. What do you expect for a $10.00 lock "Poorly Made In China"

Thanks a lot for this great presentation!
I have a question in case you notice that: if you lock from inside the lock cannot be opened from outside.
Is there a way to remove this function and let the lock rotate also from outside?
    Thanks in advance!

I have been thinking of getting a 787s
Can the monoblock be disassembled in the same way?
    Great video and explanation
    Thanks for sharing😀✌️

Monobloc cylinders can't be disassembled non destructively. I have a video about that: czcams.com/video/XZyYl7tYhz0/video.html . After that, I'm not sure for the 787s, but for the 787z, to gut the exterior cylinder, you need to drill two pins and then remove the metal part closing the barrel retained by a retaining ring hard to access. So if you want to gut the lock, I think a monobloc may not be the best format.
