the nose, eyes and face shape are very different though. but there sure are similarities in which u can kinda see its him, like the mouth and eyebrows
not really lol, no reason to undermine the surgeons by dishonesty.. they did their best but medicine has a long way to go in the esthetic aspect of soft tissue reconstruction

As I understand the healing process, the face will become an amalgam of the donor and the recipient due to bone structure. Amazing to think he may recognize himself more as he heals and gains function.
What's been achieved medically over the last 50 years is incredible, i can't wait to see the life changing surgeries in the next 50 years! These stories of body transplants are amazing, it really makes you appreciate the things you take for granted everyday

The donor , can't be thanked in this life . As I can only assume they are no longer alive.
However, the family of the deceased must have given their permission , so they should be thanked.
Not everyone who grieves a very close loved one is able to make this kind of decision with ease .
