Classic 1990 CZ 125 (Type 519)

In this video we take a look at what was a last gasp attempt from the CZ Motorcycle factory to try and compete with the might of the big Japanese motorcycle manufacturers who at that time were producing cheaper, faster, and lighter motocross race bikes.

I'm not sure CZ ever believed they could actually compete with the Japanese bikes but just keep the doors open and survive as a company. Who ever they were targeting as a buyer is up in the air, maybe the budget buyer or there local market to support there local race scene. The country's government and economic situation at the time could play a part. Whatever the company was thinking this is the sort of bike I wish I bought and just put away in storage from new and brought out in todays local VMX races lol

CZ one last shot at MX turned out to be a swing and a miss! Although I race my 73 CZ 250 all the time.
