    I bought a 650GT 5 weeks ago. It now has over 6,000km on it. Firstly, overall impression is that finish is nearly up there with the Japanese. Most people comment that it looks just like a Japanese bike. Performance is adequate, but not earth shattering mainly due to very high gearing. But, this makes it REALLY nice for touring. Comfort of bike is excellent. Suspension is compliant and brakes plenty good enough for the intended use of the bike. Handling is not quite up to scratch with it becoming a little unsettled on bumpy corners. But, it never gets out of hand and never increases my heart rate, so good enough. If it slows me down a bit in bumpy corners that is probably a good thing. Handling is fine on good road surfaces. You can feel vibration through the bars but it is more a shake than vibration. It never makes my fingers go numb, so not really an issue. However, the mirrors do vibrate a bit. You can still see what is behind but not super clear. Of more concern is that they give a really good view of your forearms and you need to tuck your elbows in to see what is behind. Not a major issue, but I am used to the mirrors on my Versys 300 which are brilliant. The fuel tank is good for 400km at touring speeds, providing you are not risk averse. The fuel gauge tells big lies. It doesn't move for 160km, then drops to empty in next 200km at which point there is still 4-5 litres in the tank - assuming tank does actually hold the claimed 19 litres. I have travelled over 30km with gauge telling me the tank was already empty. It had over 3 litres left in it when I refilled. The headlight gives good penetration but like so many these days, does not have a very good spread. Not good for spotting kangaroos! I avoid travelling at night. A nice touch is that the symbols on the handlebar switches are actually lights so easily seen at night. The brightness of the TFT screen can be adjusted. I have not had any problem with it in bright sunlight and can be turned down at night.
    So, overall it is a good bike, but not a great one. However, it is great value for money. I'm a happy chappy.

      Since I wrote the mini review I have sorted the handling on the bike. Firstly, the tyres were under inflated at pick up. I also added pre-load for when I have the bike loaded with camping gear. Both these helped and made the bike much friendlier. The final trick was to change the tyres. Yes, it comes standard with Metzelers, but they are cheap OEM variety. A change to Michelin GT Radials completed the puzzle. It is now a sweet handling bike. It is still one of the more comfortable bikes I have owned (many over the past 50 years). Definitely a keeper.
      Just a pity I can't ride it at the moment. Have had half my skull removed, literally, and about to go in for 6 weeks of radiation treatment. Will be April before I get another ride. Bloody Australian sun!

    I have got a GT 650, got it last month. Lovely comfortable ride, can be really quick when I need it, great looking bike but the downside is the lack of garages which do warranty work on it, not that I've needed it. The authorised dealer I got it from has since stopped selling them brand new. The other thing is the lack of extras for it, like crash bobbins to save the fairing, can't seem to get them anywhere. The only good side is there's a garage near me who built and ran the CF Moto UK race bikes. Overall I'm very happy with the bike itself just disappointed in the lack of garages who would honour the warranty. Nice review though lads, cheers. 😊

  • @paulblatchford4234
    @paulblatchford4234 Před 2 lety +3

    Well guys I have one of these and so far its been really good The 650GT is a lot of bike for the money as you said, Now comes with a 4 year warrantee and panniers as standard so even better value now.
    As a bike to do most things on it really fits the bill its not earth shatteringly fast but equally I've had no problems keeping pace with bigger machines on a ride out just twist the throttle a little harder. lovely noise from the airbox when you open it up to.
    The brakes are really good and the company that make them is owned by Brembo, KYB suspension is plush but firm enough to push on if you need to I've had no problems, had lots of bikes over 35 years and can say this is a really good allrounder, just over 200 miles to the tank from full 19L, when I filled it up I could only get 16L in it so it still had 3Ls in there so I guess another 20 miles before its desperate.
    Comfortable and smooth and the finish is holding up really well so far its proved to be a really good bike.
    There nothing that can compare on price for what you get and with 4 years warrantee up your sleeve its not much of a gamble anymore.
    When it was delivered to the dealer it came in a very big box with Kawasaki logos on it so I'm not worried about it falling apart at all there is no hint of poor quality anywhere I've looked and I've looked hard I can tell you.
    Cheers.

Bought for £1500 and sold it for £900, that's 600 for 2 years biking! Thanks guys, I was waiting for bigger displacement bikes to come along and I'm torn between the GT & MT both are impressive machines.

    I saw the first version of the CF650GT about 6 or 7 years ago and was very impressed with it's "Mini Pan European" look. I was a little disappointed at the lack of uptake and have never seen one in the flesh as it were. It's great to see CF motor have another "crack" at it. And with the perception of Chinese built machines changing so much recently (for all the reasons you quite rightly state) I hope they'll move a few more of these this time round especially with the sharper updated styling.

    Hi, thank you for your review - it made me smile. I'm considering one of these for my 40 min Melbourne Australia commute (30min Motorway /10min City) a couple of days a week. Sat on one today and was surprised how comfortable (I'm 5ft 6ish) it was ... but then I looked down to the tank & immediately thought gosh how would I manage this in city traffic? Turning left (or right for that matter) from a red light - eck!! And what about filtering? I've been buzzing about on a Honda CT110 for a couple of decades (loving it) - I've moved a bit further from the city now and this would be the biggest bike I would have ridden. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

    Great to see a review on the CF'S and they do a 150NK, 250NK, 300 sport bike 400NK just search for them on CZcams. I have a 650MT had it for nearly 2 years been great bike did have some issues with dripping water pump had the pump changed 3 times now under warranty think its sorted now. Went on a tour of the south Island of New Zealand did 5500KM in 2 weeks fully loaded with all my camping gear had no issues. Forgot to mention that I live in NZ. Price wise we are a lot cheaper than the UK my MT $8000 about 4000 pounds on the road and the 650NK $7000 on the road.
    Last of all search for the new 700cc there are 3 versions which look really cool.

    Excluding cost, is this bike comparable with a Yamaha Tracer 700? or Yamaha is a noticeable jump in quality and ride dynamics?

    I agree with Garry Balls comment below. First ones were a mini Pan European. I ride a Pan In New Zealand. An excellent bike it is. But, if i ever need to downsize, i will seriously consider the CF MOTO GT. Just wish it had an electronically adjustable screen and shaft drive. The later is probably to costly to install on a bike like this.

    I got knocked off my Honda VTR1000F Firestorm back in January, sadly the VTR (being 16 years old) didn't make it through the assessor's inspection. So I'm now looking for something to replace it with. The CFMoto 650GT and 650MT both look excellent!
    Are they Euro 5 compliant?
    Do they really have backlight switches?
    Are CFMoto going to bring a larger capacity bike to the UK?
    Could they bring an electric bike to the UK?
    For the cost of these bikes, I would happily buy two, one being the MT, the other being the GT.

    Just had a look on auto trader and there seem to be a few new CF Moto 650s at just under £4500, which to be honest is amazing value.
    I think they are getting closer and closer to the 'prestige' manufacturers in terms of visual design, although possibly not quite there yet - although beauty is in eye of the beholder, as we know.
    And the mechanical design and general reliability seems to be pretty much on a par these days.
    Hopefully they'll move into the retro middleweight market- I think they'll probably undercut Royal Enfield with just as good a product.
    If I was a fan of the more modern looks and I wanted a new middleweight on a budget, I'd be really tempted by this I think.

    • @4G63TDSM
      @4G63TDSM Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, the pricing does seem odd. Tried both the MT and the GT last week. The loss of the adjustable forks up front on the GT isn't too much of an issue for a mostly on road tourer than say the MT that needs to go handle rougher and more variable roads, although I doubt many will actually take the MT off road. However being 5'6, the MT was a little too tippy toe for me. Was told by the CF rep both bikes have slightly different gearing and tuning....something not very apparent from a 5 min test ride around the block on both. Not a fan of the exhaust note. They should learn from Benelli how to make a twin sound good.

    Hi, Mate, A possible explanation for CF MOTO not doing 125:
    As the CF Moto's 'massive' target customers come from China, and Chinese riders believed 250cc and 400cc bikes were actually for beginners, while 125 maybe a wee bit of out of the games. You know, in China, the bike licence basically has no categorisations, as long as you pass the same test, you can ride any bike with any cc. Chinese have no CBT, Learner Legal, A1 or A2 licence. Besides, there are some good companies occupied 125cc bike market in China, so I think CF may not willing to throw money at the new engine invention.

    Good value but what about parts availability and residual worth after a few years? The name CF Moto not very dream worthy is it.
