How to See Your Chat While Streaming With OBS Studio

Streaming with 1 monitor can be pretty awkward since you don't have a second monitor to read your Twitch chat, CZcams chat, Facebook chat etc on. Today, I'll show you how to see your chat while streaming with OBS Studio by using a program that let's you show your Twitch chat in game, as wel as any other platforms when being a bit creative. The program allows you to show your stream chat as an overlay on top of the game by making it click-through and a bit transparent.

If OBS doesn't let you make a window transparent -> don't run it as admin cause it blocks the program from controlling the obs dock

@@vihanargade2816 u can easily record 60+ frames minecraft unless you are using shaders

HUGE W video here. I am a smaller streamer and sometimes don't get a lot of chatters and when I do see a chat, it's 3-4 minutes late and they have already left. Can't wait to try this program out!

I personally get into my games and do not see my second monitor anymore so i am going to try the overlay in game...
Playing windowed screen may lower your game performance by a lot so its good you got a second monitor!

Excellent, thank you! The Stream Elements option is the cleanest, allowing me to minimise the extra clutter on my screen while playing, but it misses the events. Is there a way to get chat and events like in the OBS pop out, in a Stream Elements custom overlay?

if you use SLOBS there is something called Game Overlay which does the same thing as what they showed in the video
lost count how many times i had to skip back to relisten to what you said i needed to do for stream overlay due to telling us what to do to quickly... but i got there in the end,,,,,

Hey TVN great video! I was wondering do you know how to fix the dark mode in chat in stream elements in OBS? its shows in white but the OBS is in dark mode.
Is the transparent chat only visible when streaming the game, or is the transparent window also visible when streaming the whole screen (monitor)?
since this video last year, have they implemented a way to overlay without an external program?
