Used to love coming down to watch speedway here in the 80s. The place took a bit of searching out the first time. The nights seemed to always be warm and the shale glowed in the sun. Although this may be a rose tinted false memory. This was in the Drybrough Bandit days.
Was a pretty cool place well out the way . The smell of mobil one and meth and dirt was pretty unique ! The smell that wafted out the cafe too. Very special place to go as a child with friends and see men blast bye on bikes with no brakes . So close you had to turn your head away when near either end bend. Getting peppered with shale ! How things change . Takes me right back to 80s Cribb ,Mcdermott , Courtney , Grant etc to name but a few . Good to see it on you tube tho alive for ever at the lough ! 🙂Yellow and black -Bandit country ! God bless .
