Homes filled with thrifted treasures have a warm, calming energy… at least that’s how it seems to me.
I’d leave the table under the mirror, paint it, and then swap the chairs and the bench to the opposite sides of the table. The chairs would have more room by the windows and the low bench would give the little table more visual room. Everything else looks great! Lucky vintage finds👍🏼
Thank you so much for these ideas! I am excited to see how it all comes together 😊😊
I agree. Paint the little table a couple of shades darker than the wall molding. Yum
Completely agree!
^this
Love these ideas. However if you change your mind about placement in another room I think it's perfect to place a water pitcher and basin for washing up. (I think that's what you call them) it could work in a hallway or spare bedroom. 🤔
Your home is amazing. Just beautiful. So cozy and relaxing. Beautiful. You've had a long day and this is what you come home to. Love it. Vloggers like you that show you don't need to spend thousands of dollars on beautiful items. Again, your home is amazing.
I would paint the side table a green like the stool you found at the antique store. Everything looks beautiful, I especially love the copper pots.
Yes, I was going to comment the same. Paint it the green like the stool!
I agree green would be adorable 🥰
I was gonna say the same thing.
Ok, I HAVE to share this idea with you!
Get a spray on paint stripper,(or use what you have) cover all your chairs in the stripper and wait the required time. Use a power washer to spray down all the chairs. It’s worked for me and if your power washer is powerful enough it really does an amazing job! Cuts down on so much work!
Thank you so much, I will definitely have to try this! 😊😊
Be sure to really protect your eyes, skin, and lungs with all that chemical being sprayed around! I saw a you tuber cover her stripper with Saran Wrap to keep the stripper from drying out, especially on the more intricate legs and such. Good luck!
Paint your little side table the same color as your corner cabinet. That color really goes nice with your chair rail.
I would paint the little table in the dining room white to go with the items on the shelves. Then I would distress it to bring out some of the warm wood tones. Beautiful!!
I would definitely leave very the table as is with the beautiful wood. The trend is getting away from painted furniture and leaving the furniture with its natural beauty.
Paint the little table either the same color of the corner curio in the dinning room or give a pop of color like the beautiful green from the stool!! And yes, I agree to switch the bench & chairs to the other side of the table.
Everything looks really nice!!
You need to put your grandpa's dresser there in the dining room. I loved it.
That is my choice also.
hey girl....the pretty white planter is for a violet. the secret to violets is to not get the leaves wet and let the roots absorb through that tiny hole in the pot....i luv your house --Oklahoma
Hey Andrea, I remember my mom did ceramics when I was a little girl with her extension homemakers chapter in our community. She made little bowl sets like your flower pot and she always called them African Violet planters. You water them from the bottom and not wet the stems. Just an idea as they brought back that memory.
Everything, as always, looks absolutely beautiful.
Love the pocket change dish. I bought one like that for my dad when I was very young. It was the exact same. Brought back memories
My favorite vintage kitchen tools are my Clearfield butter cutter, aluminum hard boiled egg slicer and my Edmund Top-off Jar and bottle screw top opener(I use this opener almost weekly). I would truly miss them all if I didn’t have them.❤️
So many great ideas! The new piece is sweet. The only thing that struck me is that as a dining space that is a walkthrough, something long and narrow that could also work as extra ‘buffet’ space, and a surface you could add a long basket/dough bowl/antique tool caddy. Nothing too cluttery 😉
That is true, thank you for pointing that out! 😊😊
I was also thinking something long and narrow would fit that space nicely. Beautiful home! Love your style!
My thoughts exactly.
You could paint the little table in the dining room the same color as the board and batten. I imagine this would look pretty.
I love the gel stain on the chairs! They look fabulous.
The pop of green looks so pretty in the kitchen. How about painting that little table in the dining area the same green as the stool and then distress it ?
Your home is stunning. ❤
Yes, I've started adding moss green and mustard yellow to my neutral scheme to bring in some color.
I wanted to hang something behind my stove on a tiled backsplash also and didn’t want to hurt the tile. I had my husband drill tiny holes in the grout between the tiles so he didn’t damage them.
I think you should definitely paint the table in your dining g room. The size looks wonderful. Maybe paint it a cream like your hanging platters or a light shade of taupe would look nice. Good luck!
Years ago, I bought an antique canopy bed for my daughter, which had to be stripped and refinished. Like you, I had young children and realized I would never get time to strip it (until they were in college, ha!), so my husband and I found a local furniture refinisher who was able to strip the bed in his shop by putting it in a big vat that automatically stripped it. To save money, we then took it home and refinished the bed ourselves. Loved this video- love your home and how you and your hubby totally transformed it! God bless!
I have the same penny change brass plate that belonged to my grandfather. I have never seen them until I acquired it and now I see them everywhere. Great thrift finds. I love thrifting!
Love your home ..I'm a thrifter to I find so many bargains I end up with to much of a good thing..I'm up to my neck in vintage and antique baskets I'm learning alot watching you in how not to be a compulsive buyer and to visually imagine it in my home before purchasing it
I would paint that chest black then lightly sand edges to distress. It would anchor your space and echo the black lantern light over your table
Paint the little table under the window the same color as the color on the tall cabinet in the corner. It looks nice.
I love seeing what you find thrifting and antiquing. Family first always! Hugs!
Bonjour je découvre ta vidéo. Très belle maison style campagne. Beaucoup de bonnes idées. Bisous Evelyne France
Thank you so much Cheryl! 🥰
I love love love your home! It is exactly my style. The color of wood you have throughout the house is spot on. And that can be so tricky. I have limited time and skills so I buy most of my furniture and have to look so hard for pieces with the right finish. I hate the word DIY but your things are so beautiful I may have to go that route. It’s such a well put together home. Personally I think black paint would look really good on that console in the dining room. It’s a bright spot and the piece isn’t too big that black would darken the area. It would also balance well with the other black accents you have throughout the kitchen and dining. If it was me, I would keep the dining chairs as warm wood color and paint the console black. So many options would be great though. It’s such a pretty console!
I'm a sucker for old and high end kitchen gadgets too! Love thrifting!
Andrea, I love the gel stain on your chairs. Honestly, I would leave your new table. The color of the wood is warm & looks great. Your home is so beautiful. Please share with us the magazine that you’ll be in! 💝
I would paint the little table too match your corner hutch. White would also be pretty. I love it when you're chatty! Your sweet personality shines. Thanks for sharing your beautiful, amazing home with me! 🙏🫶🤗
Love thrifting too. Funny that you thrifted the picket change tray. I bought one like that about 30 years ago for my hubby’s dresser. After we got new furniture, it didn’t go as well. Came across it a couple months ago and thought it should go back out again. This video reminded that I still need to do that 😁
I love your channel and don't apologize for prioritizing your family. Your boys will grow up before you know it! I love your decorating and everything looks beautiful! Tfs ❤
I used to judge beauty contests. You are so lovely and genuine.
LOVE the cabinet idea above your fireplace
I love the silver chocolate molds they sparkle like ice sicles. I also use long sprayed trees sticks in silver or white for outdoor planters. I just bought 2 galvanized buckets for my front porch I'm going put the sticks in.🌠☃️
I love your little table in your dining room painting it would be nice maybe like your hutch or a touch of green?
WOW, absolutely love the knot in the back of your hair. It is looks so pretty that I could not pass up the chance to compliment you on it.
Oh my goodness, thank you so much! You are too kind 🥰
The dining room looks beautiful. Try some color on the bottom part of the little stand. That pretty dark greenish blue that’s so popular now.
Love the dining area. The "hunt board table" is lovely. Just a suggestion how about scrubbing the wood top and painting the lower section to match corner cupboard. I feel your pain in regard to your chairs in the basement. You'll figure it out in time.
Andrea, you got a deal on the hamburger press. My son in law's mother is one 8f my dearest friends and we both go to the same church. A couple of months ago we were having q get together after our evening church service with grilled hamburgers and hit dogs etc. The market we by our meat from had there presses done to shape the patties so the two of us were to make I think 200 patties. She had a press like your that was her mothers and they are hard to find from what she told me. I had a plastic pampered one in white with the press. Well both worked but hers was much faster and went real fast. You will live it. You are so beautiful. You could be a model. Love your channel. One of my favorites. You have such a sweet family.
I’m watching this 5 months later. I’m seeing the color of your corner cabinet which would be a good color to paint the little table. Beautiful kitchen and dining room!
You have a lovely eye for thrifted design
Hello Andrea! Newbie here 🙂 I'm in love with your home! I think a really cute farmhouse lamp on the pantry stool or in the window would be cute. A sage green color on the table with a thrifted pitcher/basin set for it on top! I'm stealing some of your ideas as well ❤
I like the table under the mirror. I was going to suggest something like a sage green. Your wood colors go well with greens like on your table
That table belongs where you have it❤️
Hi, love the new piece in the dining room, looks good under mirror! Maybe paint it a light green (sage?) Or something similar to stool color? Enjoy rest of the summer, love your channel!!
Thank you so much Helen! I hope you are enjoying summer too! 🥰
Everything looks beautiful and so cozy. You have made me want to change all my home decor. Right now my home is all primitive. What do you do with all your home decor once you change everything out?
Blessings, Robin
I would paint base of cabinet a sage green and use white wax on top it would be so pretty...just like you! Love your house!
You have a gorgeous home and I love all the wicker. I collect wicker that takes my eye too. One piece is a large round wicker lazy Susan. I had not seen one before like that so for $5 it was mine!
I love waftching these tours on you tube for some ideas or all the tips you give. I could listen to you talk all day! Take care and happy thrifting! Sandra
I love the wooden piece as is under the window/mirror in your dining room. Especially since the wall is painted two colors. The wood breaks up the paint.
I love that “little things” make you happy. I get it! …using things you love elevates the ordinary. I like your new dining room serving/ side table. I would paint it too but can’t decide on which color( some ideas were black, same color as your corner cabinet or white..?.)
Well, I know you seem to think things out and persevere and re..do until you get it right. ….a very patient lady🥰
P.S. you do exhibit the “ Fruits of the Spirit” 🥰
You are too kind, thank you so much for your sweet words 🥰🥰
Your garlic baskets are awesome! Iv never seen them before. They look beautiful in your home.
Love your home and it’s style-love the new piece in the dining room!! Paint it the color of your stool-maybe!?!
I like it that natural color better with the mirror on top amen
I love how you decorated with all your thrifted finds. Your house is pretty and homey 🏘❤️
Those old ice cream scoops are the best! I have an old one that used to be my grandmas and it's super sturdy, those things don't break or bend. Super cool about the magazine shoot, that would be a mixed bag of emotions for me too, great experience but also super stressful. Love all your items, your home is lovely!
That is amazing that you still use it, I love utensils or anything I can use in my home that has meaning behind it like that! And as far as the magazine shoot, yes very emotional, but hopefully worth it all! Thank you so much for your sweet words! 🥰🥰
I like the sofa in the living room
Good morning, Andrea!
Really enjoyed the "chatty" tour of how you use your thrifted home decor. It was inspiring & lovely. Have a gorgeous weekend!
Thank you so much, I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! 🥰
I've got an idea for your colored table. A light periwinkle!!! It looks great with the lighter woods!!!
I agree about that green paint on that little sideboard,
Your home is so charming! Everything is so cozy and beautiful. You're an inspiration to me, thanks for sharing this video. ❤️
Love that green stool and yes, switch the chairs to the other side of the table and paint that table green, or a neutral color.
YOUR HOME ALWAYS LOOKS SO CLEAN...LOVE YOUR THRIFT HAUL DECOR AND HOW YOU USED IT....HAVE A WONDERFUL EVENING AND WEEKEND... STAY SAFE AND GOD BLESS....IMOGENE
Thank you so much, I hope you have a wonderful weekend also! 😊
*********Can you do an everyday makeup routine, love how you do your makeup! All the products that you use honestly on a regular basis! Please, thank you!
Oh my goodness truly breathtaking unique home filled with true warmth from Bunbury western Australia x x x
Love the new narrow table in the dining room. It is a definite keeper! The size would be great for a lot of different spaces in your home. A fun piece to have to move around when you get a new idea for a room. I think the mirror wall in the dining room does need a narrow piece but, one that is longer. A longer piece of furniture would visually anchor the hanging shelves on the wall.
I’d definitely paint the little console table but maybe give it a bit of a distressed look so it ages it a bit more 🤔
I love all your thrift finds, you’ve styled them all beautifully 🥰
Love watching your videos as you make me feel like I’m there 😊
First time here! I think you need a great pop of color in your dining room! Not wild but something that says oh my how cute that is or paint it the green you like in your kitchen! I like the idea of switching the chairs and bench another viewer mentioned
I’m so glad you shared your home and loved things with us! Thank you!
Yay--love the small things that bring us joy! I so get the wooden handle joy and even have all wooden boxes and trays in my drawers to hold extra utensils. Maybe that's your next smile; subbing out the square plastic bins. I'd paint the cute little table a soft white, maybe similar to your upper walls. Keep that dreamy light flowing.
I love your dining table (bravo hubby!). Do you remember where you got the cream rug? I'm struggling to find the perfect dining rug that isn't too proper. Thanks!
Love the piece in the dining rm under the old window frame & the mirror is the perfect touch! The plates look gorgeous! It all looks beautiful!
I think the piece in the dining room would be pretty painted the same color as the hutch or the color on the bottom of the room. Everything looks beautiful!
loving your videos and your home and style. I love vintage cozy homes. I am a minimalist, so I go with your style but less stuff.
Gorgeous home filled with love
I LOVE your home. You can literally feel the sweet spirit that is there right through the camera. 🥰
Everything looks so nice, Andrea! I’m so glad you did the ironstone plates in the dining room-they are such a perfect accent when you want something that doesn’t look busy, but adds architecture and softness. I hang them all over the place as my walls are all a cream color, and they are always such a beautiful accent. Crocks, jugs, bowls and things, are always welcome in my home too-they hold their value, and many times antique dealers will trade or buy them when you’re ready for something different or you find another piece you love and want to change it up. Bonus!! ☺️
Hi Andrea...i love the mirror in the window!! The table below looks great..i agree. It needs something in that area!! Beautiful 😊
Andrea you are a beautiful decorator but most importantly you are a beautiful mom. The time spent with those babies you will never get back cherish the moments, we totally get it!! Enjoy the rest of your summer and continue to make your memories!!
You are so sweet and so beautiful and your house looks so welcoming. Thank you for sharing. Love the wooden handle utensils! Love the table your husband made.
Love all your decorating ideas. I would paint that table with something that “pops”. I love those cross back chairs and would buy them from you if I could! You have such a gentle sweet spirit! Blessings to you and your family.
I'm so glad you put the corner cupboard back in your dining room. It's beautiful and I think the perfect piece for that space. I'd paint the table under the mirror maybe a nice neutral sage green. I think the color would really be nice. You can always repaint if you don't like it. Your house is so cute, homey and cozy. I love it!!
I love your minimal style. I am the same and it makes everyone feel calm and happy.
Your home is so lovely. I love your eye for decor, keep it up. I’m inspired.
♥️♥️♥️ your new finds, Andrea. Each piece is so fittingly displayed in your beautiful home! Love the garlic baskets especially! The dining room looks gorgeous with it's new sideboard. Like others, I think a green wash of paint would be perfect. I read on a blog that the oven cleaner stripping method worked extremely well by covering the piece after spraying. She used plastic wrap and large trash bags! I'll be looking forward to your feature in the magazine - very exciting! So glad for you all that the shoot is behind you now😚!! Loved our visit! Enjoy the remaining summer! Hugs♥️
you always find the cutest hings.
The green stool is darling in your kitchen! Really works with the flooring. Your idea of painting the new furniture piece in the dining would look lovely in a faded (very soft and watery) chartreuse (like the inside of the little antique bowls). It’s fun to see they way a well-loved home changes over time!
I LOVE 💕 your dining room. Everything about it. I really like your kitchen also. Great job.
Loved watching ! Great finds
I am inspired by all your beautiful kitchen gadgets! Seriously makes me want to go tomorrow to see what treasures I can find to swap out for my plastic handled ones! I would definitely paint the sideboard I guess you'd call it. It gets lost in the room as is. To keep the calm serene theme of the room maybe stay in the green family and use a slightly different shade, ether 1 or 2 shades up or down. No to white, or black, too stark. Love your rooms, especially that beautiful 3-tier basket behind your front door!!
I’d love to find a couple of those little beehive bowls that you got!!! My grandmother used to have some and I remember eating cereal out of them back in the 1970’s.
The dining table is Beautiful,
I love the little side table, how about painting it the same color as your corner hutch I think it looks great. Your house is so cute, love all the touches, thanks for sharing.
Yep, I vote green to match the stool. Lovely home!
The little table in your dining room would be so beautiful in the same color as your hutch in the dining room. And I have to say, I’m glad you put the bench and other chairs back in the dining room. I absolutely love them with your table. You styled your finds so nicely, I love them all. Thank you for sharing and chatting. Enjoy your summer and remember that you are loved by all of us. Please share what magazine you are in.
I like the table and mirror there.
Enjoyed so much!! Just love your home it's cozy!!
Everything looks so pretty
I really like the white fluted pot in you office. The little one looks like a flower pot and the bottom dish reminds me of a small pie or quiche baking dish. Super cute :)
I love your home! Thanks for sharing!
Lovely home! Love thrifted items.
Your home is absolutely beautiful!
