    I found myself intriguing whenever I saw any problem, endless thoughts just evoke in my mind what could be a product that could solve this problem. Earlier I thought to be an entrepreneur, make and sell these kinds of products. But soon I realized, there's a stream, product designing, which is answer to all my thoughts. This is how, I found my passion.

    To me, an Industrial Designers is capable of being involved on different projects within the manufacturing industry, from plaining and projecting some strategies in order to design a particular product or service to actually design the object; but a Product design just focus on designing objects in order to fulfill the desires or necessities of a rage of users and the company they work for.
    That is the definition I have from my experience and from I have been learning since I have beenstudying.

    My professors have been saying they see improvement in my sketches, and I realized during my first year classes that I really like to work with my hands. I am so focused when I tinker. However, I'm really slow at learning how to sketch in perspective, and I am very new to modeling. Some people in my classes took woodshed classes or have had family members show them how to build things or they've got photoshop skills already. I'm worried that my lack in skill set will leave me behind my peers.

    As a 3d designer I just found out that I like to create products like chairs and tables. With the help of 3d software I can create realistic furniture. Maybe you have some tips of what the next steps will be. I want this to be made, but I don't have any clue where to start or where to go. My passion is in the 3d software creating weird "hipster" furniture which I think people will buy. I am not really into making it. Would be fun to see my 3d product in real life. Hopefully someone here has an answer to that. Thank you.

    What I'm trying to figure out is if I'm more into the physical parts of product design, or the interaction (UX, UI, IxD) of it... A lot of the things you said appeals to me, but definitely not at the level you had. A lot more conceptual, I would say. I did draw a lot as a kid (some cars and objects, mostly people).

  • @roid1510
    @roid1510 Před 7 lety

    I also have been drawing cars since I was a kid. I think it had to do with the fact that my parents had a car dealership. The older I got the more I got into other things, little details on products e.g why is this button here not there? how does this work ? Or couldnt this be much easier ? I began questioning a lot of products.

  • @coelho_rr
    @coelho_rr Před 5 lety +2

    Yes, I have always thought about why things are the way they are and most times I had any suggestion to give about how to improve it. my dream was to become an Inventor.. But instead I went to chemistry college because there were no mechanical engeneering or industrial design around my area and I could not afford going to another town to study it. I actually had never heard about industrial design back on those days. now I am 31yo and I would still want to become an industrial design/product design/inventor :) do you think that it would he possible to move to this field without a degree? Are there any technical level studies for that?

I study a double major in Industrial design and Mechanical engineering in Spain so that i can pursuit my biggest dream: becoming a car designer (we don´t have a transportation degree here in Spain, but there are some Master´s degrees in Europe). Hola!

I have always like building things and constructing random objects like blowguns, bayblade arenas, paper guns, toy cars and that sort of thing. Im having trouble deciding if this is right for me, i really want to do it but that could very well be just because i like the idea and not the actual career. are there any methods or tests you can do to find out if this right for you?

    hi everyone I have a question. why all the attention is being focused in the sketching drawing fixing photos of the product? is that the main aspect of being a industrial designer?
    I would love to study product design but all the videos I have watched focus the attention in the "look of the product" but i only found attractive the part when you create the product... the "brainstorming part""the invention part" can SOMEBODY tell me what to do is i only like that part i hate the other aspects like sketching drawing and countless hours in software retouching the image of the product. that it is super important too but for me that is secondary once you have the idea? how can I do to just do that part????? please
    i think if this is going to be a solid and revolutionary product it have to be one thing that will provide a innovate way to create and support a human need. and all that it is born in the creative and innovative aspect of the job? like the iPhone for example it is a good product that prove my point.

I have a knack for problem solving, I love to innovate, bring unique solutions to table. I am more fascinated by simplicity and usability and relevance of something than the trend. I am ok at sketching(improving), don't keep tabs at new models of car phones and gadgets(totally ignorant) but passionate about problem solving, for me if a design is not addressing a major issue then it is irrelevant. Now I want to be an industrial designer, am I opting for right profession? What do you think? I am more innovation and solution driven.
