Just seeing text may not be enough. Listening with text is better. If visuals as an image is or picture is present, that's an added plus. French in 10 minutes a day is great for beginners.

Yep 100%. I always make sure my students see the benefit of learning French as efficiently as possible. Getting 2x the input is a great use of time. Reading + Listening at the same time is super easy to do and very effective ☺

Adding to learning a new language is finding out the target country uses the metric system. OH gas is purchased by the liter in Quebec province? I get the Sutton Quebec newsletter once a week, 6 pm my time. Sutton vous informe. My email provider translates it Sutton informs you. Now correct me here, doesn't the above actually read, Sutton you inform(s). Somewhat of a cultural nuance, the reversal of how Americans speak. I also pick up town hall podcasts from Potton, Quebec. And btw, how do the french tell time? Using the 12 hour or 24 hour clock. Something to think about and be prepared for.

I love the idea of engaging in a made up conversation with questions while listening/reading a video!

Select an A1 oral speaking exam and put it on 1/2 speed for beginners, practice the questions, and input your own answers where possible. Google talking translator is helpful too. Do some role playing as in an oral exam, in presenting yourself, as interviewer and interviewee.

good tips! Following the pronunciation of native speakers is 100% best way to do it. Also, I use the Reverso translator, I find it is much better than Google Translate.
