- After installing the Lectric hydraulic upgrade kit on my XP 3.0, I bed in the pads and give you my initial review of the brake kit performance. The hydraulic upgrade kit from Lectric turns out to be a VAST improvement over the stock mechanical brakes! Easy two finger operation is required to lock up the new brakes while the original mechanical brakes required a four finger squeeze. Brake and lever feel is great as well.

Got mine a few days ago and it's been such an upgrade to the mechanical breaks. My mechanical breaks were starting to fail so the new brakes came in just in time
Glad you got them in time! They truly are so much better!
i recommend you to change the brake pads to resin so it becomes really quiet
I did run a front Shimano hydraulic caliper for a bit that has resin pads and you are right, super quiet! I don't mind the noise too much as long as the brakes are powerful and durable.
do you know why the kit comes with a whole new front wheel? the rotor and everything looks the same (for the 3.0 XP)
The new wheel is narrower to provide enough clearance for the wider hydraulic caliper.
Thanks for the video. Does the rear brake light come on when you squeeze the brakes?
Not on the XP 3.0 but it does on the Trike.
yo you got cool mine is coming on the 14 and have you ever got a error code on your ebike I have E010 just emailed them about it
No error codes so far but code E010 according to the manual is related to display communications. Check all the connections on cables leaving the display.
Thx
I just had the e010 error. After I went through all the troubleshooting it ended up being a fried controller. They sent me a new one and all good. The hydraulic brakes are a massive upgrade!
Are they suppose to grind all the time ?
Grinding noise when applying the brakes is normal depending on pad material. They shouldn't grind when brakes are not being applied.
@@LectricGo did you happen to just get the recall for the calipers
@@LectricGo no grinding when not being applied
@SmokeWithMeInCT Yup! It's about time.
@@LectricGo so let me get this straight , I got the hydraulic breaks already , so is this caliper replacement the same as the breaks they sent me? Honest I think they should just recall all the bikes . For me anyways it’s been one problem after another and the bikes in general don’t feel very safe and I have over 700 on one bike and 1000 on the other
I don’t think it’s any better then the mechanical. Still metal grinding metal . What’s the point
The hydraulic brakes are much stronger and consistent and auto adjust as they wear. In these ways, they are much superior to mechanical brakes.
@@LectricGo well I been riding them for about two weeks and other than the grinding once again which I can’t understand how that’s normal . I’ve ridden bikes my entire life and grinding never seemed safe to me but
