It’s so weird seeing other people interact with a very niche and pretty old CZcams video. There’s a comment from fours hours ago, you think you’re the only only one who has looked at this in ages, and yet lo and behold
It’s great to see such high quality video of most of the original staging of the opening and closing numbers. Found the bartender distracting during the titular number.
16:00 hurts to watch. I mean no disrespect to the actor but that is one of the most important lines in the show. It should have so much weight on it but nope nothin. Cliff lacked a lot of emotion.
Not that I know of. This version of the song is underwhelming in my opinion, and I don’t blame that on Grey. This should be the Emcee’s showstopper, but this production seems to treat it like an afterthought... probably because the audience had never heard it before.
I mean, the Alan Cumming version is fine and all, but the way they put the part with Sally and Cliff arguing in the middle of I Don’t Care Much makes this one of my favorite renditions of the song.
Interesting version of the title song. It was sped up (or perhaps has been slowed down in more recent versions) and I felt it made it less impactful. I appreciated what was evoked with the way it started but think I prefer it being started as it usually is. I think this actress is phenomenal though
One could probably assume that Joel Grey has a reason for why he did that...considering it's supposed to be one of the final shows, and things are devolving into Nazi Germany taking over...
richardson was sally in the 1998 broadway revival, which gets confused with the 1993 production where she was played by jane horrocks. they get confused since alan cumming played emcee in both, but they're different productions

I am so obsessed with joel grey's em. Hes just the perfect one.
I'm the same way about Alan Cumming. Whatever floats ones boat.
@@JiveDadson Yes! Personally I never really vibed with Alan but he is certainly some people's favourites for a reason.
At the end Joel looks so happy, he probably feels so amazing and overwhelmed

This sally is amazing.

Whoa, I've never heard Joel Grey sing I don't care much. Does anyone know if there's a studio recording of this?
Same! I thought it was a addison in the Alan Cummings revival and it's so weird to hear Joel sing this
Nerdy Ginger 928 well it was originally cut from the original production

they did this with alan too! but they both sound very different
Not as dark as the later revivals with Alan Cummings. But Joel has a both Tony and an Oscar for originating this role so seeing this is STILL special.
I saw both the original production and this revival. The revival was greatly inferior to the original.
@@treesny The productions were very different. Agree to disagree.
Cliff is emotionless
Oh my god yes, he sucks.
I know like oml at around 16:00 👀

Who is the actress who plays Sally Bowles here?
do you guys this that joel grey can sometimes rush lines, like at his part at 17:03. i mean i love joel grey and all
Sometimes in stage shows they force actors to Rush lines. I think thtas what happens here, but it isnt implemented very well.
@@buckjohnson3748 that’s what i thought, he kind of just said it really fast and this is one of the shows where i saw that

I'm almost scared to ask, but is there any meaning behind the acronym for Kit Kat Klub?
Is this Broadway?
Yes, this is the 1987 Broadway Revival
Colonel Klink!

Warum bewegt sich die Frau nicht ?
