I was about to comment how I remember how AWESOME the karts in this game were compared to the newer ones. Haven't tried MK7 or 8 yet, but from what I've seen and in Wii there wasn't much wonkiness to the karts to take pride in. Except Booster Seat. 😂

The boo has a delayed item grab, so if you see it swoop down, you can use your item (any item except boo) before it's stolen

I actually used that comma for a slight pause. I don't know how to properly pause in a middle in a sentence by typing (or writing) it down.
I don't think you can have a pause there without mentioning another clause to interrupt the thought. Your reasoning, however, does make sense.
So how does my reasoning not make sense? OK how about I type it like this. A game where... there were no clines to be found. Does that fix it? Because I was going for a pause after the word where. I don't know any other way to fix it.

Max DragonSoul not going to lie, as a really good mkds player (at one point I even had 3 WR, on airship forteress, wario stadium and baby park) it does pain me to see Mank play this. He is pretty bad at it. But then, he is 100× better then me at MK8D

I'm gonna be honest back then when I was about 7 years old I was a fricking try hard and also this is probably the hardest Mario kart game ever but I really enjoyed looking back at some good ol' memories so thank you Mankalor 😉👌

Difficulty, from easiest to hardest:
8) Mario Kart 7

6) Mario Kart DS

1) Super Mario Kart
In Mario Kart Ds and Wii it was very difficult to get 3 stars compared to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Not only that but it was based on how many times you bumped into walls, cpus or how many times you fell off the course even sometimes get hit by items like red shells or bananas. I only knew a hand full of people that were 3 star ranking in MKDS and getting 1 star on the Wii or DS was a big accomplishment. Also if you snaked on the DS I swear the game would automatically judge harsher and make it harder to get a 1 or 3 star ranking even if you had a nearly perfect run.
Naturenerd1000 it was very hard for me as a kid to get a 3 star ranking, mostly because out of my 2 cousins I was the only one who only had 2 stars so I got it out of pure pressure haja
I got MKDS some time last year. It's not that hard to get three stars. I mean…it IS, and I haven't even gotten the ranking yet, but getting three stars on a cup feels very achievable, and not so luck based and unfair like Mario Kart Wii.
I replayed MKDS a while ago and I found getting 3 stars not that hard. You pretty much have to use the meta combo to get 3 stars on Wii or 7 tho
At least there is still some ppl who love MKDS... :D

Tips for the future:
Start your boost after seeing 2 stop spinning for 0.5 seconds
Pick a kart with good drift (B-Dasher is my favorite)
Fake item boxes don't block shells
Red shells can outsmart you holding an item behind you
Hold A the moment you touch the ground after Lakitu rescues you for a quick boost
