[HD] Amtrak Heritage and Spirit of Cincinnati And More Railfanning Alexandria, VA: 10/15/13

For being in the Ashland, VA area for the time being. I decided to take advantage of my college's fall break and take a day to myself in Alexandria, VA. Many of the trains have the same parallels, but the angles and the time of day seeing certain trains can be drastically different.
(Not in Video) I took Amtrak's train 86 up from Ashland, VA and when P086 was arriving into the station Q416 roared past going north on the opposite track with CSXT ES40DC 5500 "Spirit of Cincinnati" leading YN2 SD70MAC 4521. Good thing is my train was able to pass Q416 with ease and I made it to Alexandria well before the freight train did.
Some interesting notes were the wakey times that some frieghts showed up, manifests Q409 and Q439 were a good 9 hours apart, when they are normally early afternoon trains. Q702 also ran relatively early to it's normal schedule, and other freight trains which came through that I never saw because I was out doing other things.
All in all a sucessful day with plenty of VRE trains captured and a few nice freight trains as well, only problem with Alexandria is the frieght trains almost always show up on track 1 which is never in the sun unless it's late afternoon.
Next up will be operations on a lesser traveled rail line in Virginia...
