She’s right Emma was the best dancer and probably the most triple threat also.
Although I have to say I didn’t get the true Roxie vibe from any of them.. but I look forward to seeing them all on stage someday

The panel knows and respects all three equally because they know how hard they worked to get to where they are...

I really really wish that I could see a Broadway show live even once in my life before I die... Not that I'm dying or anything but it's just such a gift to the audience....

This judge panel was probably so respectful beacause they knew they were being recorded... trust me, I’ve been to a lot of Broadway auditions myself and not even ONE time have the judges been so caring
@@victormanuelmorales2047 actually you're right. A lot of things change when you know you're getting filmed.
You really see Emma's improvement from her audition reel to this final audition. I found her a bit too "tough" and "sexy" in her monologue for her own video, but now she's made her rendition softer, goofier and more endearing which totally fits Roxie more.
I feel like each girl brought something to the table and were all crazy talented (Khalifa LIT UP THE ROOM in her monolgue and Kate's voice is just WOW), but the judges were right - at the end of the day, Roxie is a role that requires all 3 skills in dancing, singing and acting which Emma edged out the others in.
So excited to see her rendition of Roxie and for Khalifa's and Kate's future endeavors!
emma had it the second i saw that shimmy in the audition clip and they said “well she can shimmy.” something about her face screams innocence but her body language demonstrates eloquence and mischief. she has that star quality that comes naturally along with true self confidence.
Honestly thought Emma was perfect - like she was doing it her whole life
Khalifa had the best judge reactions and to me was the most captivating. She brought personality to Roxie.
Emma Pittman will be on Broadway as Roxie Hart when Pamela Anderson finishes her run. Khalifa White has since made her debut on Broadway in Caroline or Change. I have a feeling we will hear more from these three ladies who made the finals. They were all talented.
I’m not an expert or anything but Khalifa really captivated me. And I personally found her dancing excellent. Nothing against Emma, but Khalifa was totally deserving of this.

The judges are so kind and polite, it’s like night and day compared to the Elle Woods competition
I have seen Emma twice on broadway, and met her at the stage door she was the sweetest person I have met at a stage door and she takes time with everyone at the door!!!

Emma was superb. Haven't heard of any of these and don't follow the Broadway scene, but Emma's audition was a no brainer, she absolutely nailed it.

Such immense talent from all three. I truly hope all of them have a career on Broadway. They all deserve it. And brava, Emma!! You sold me on the role with that Fosse smoothness and that WINK-talk about a brilliant character choice!! You seem like such a genuinely lovely human and I have a feeling you’re going to have longevity beyond Chicago (a la Laura Osnes) has because of your talent but also your kind heart. 😊 (Did anyone else get that vibe?)
Emma Pittman's run on Broadway as Roxie Hart has been extended and now Bianca Marroquin is playing Velma alongside Emma!
As soon as I saw Emma's final audition after the other two, I just knew the casting team absolutely couldn't get away with not picking her. Look forward to seeing Kate and Khalifa conquering Broadway in other shows - but for Chicago, I'm really satisfied with the choice for Roxie.

Here in Dec. it’s heartbreaking that Emma’s Roxie journey likely ended with that “Roxie” group pic. Hope for her (and everyone else in the performing world) can resume the stage soon! 💔
Must be so hard not getting the role, but the reactions when they find out they didn’t get it still throw me. Over the top fake happiness when you’re breaking inside. Tough gig.
Emma really was the best of the three , so I agree, and she had the vulnerability that is needed. AWESOME EMMA

I love how each of them have a different strongest suit haha, Kate has the most gorgeous voice, Emma is a stunning dancer, and Khalifa is the best actress

ishei Honestly I’m not sure how to explain it. Roxie has a specific personality that I don’t find in Khalifa. Nothing against her because she’s amazing but to me she just doesn’t feel like Roxie. I don’t know, just my opinion.

The second I saw the winner, I knew it was her. The other two are great and wish I could do it like they do, but the winner's dance was flawless.
After I saw Emma's video the first time I had a feeling she would make it far, she just has something very captivating about her

Emma did the best at dancing, but something kept me from enjoying the rest of it. Khalifa did best in all three.
Julianne Briscoe Emma was the best dancer, Kate had the best voice and khalifa was the best actress. She was actually really funny.
@@db200508 They criticized her dancing, but I thought it not being super duper polished and more fluid was actually better then someone who isn't using dance to show the character's traits. Being too polished makes it loose something. Roxie needs that spunk.
I honestly would have been content with any of the girls. They are all amazingg!!!

Khalifa and Emma are absolutely gorgeous and I'm 100% in love with them both, but Kate just *radiates* Roxie. Don't get me wrong Emma definitely deserves the role, and Khalifa is just as brilliantly talented, but I feel like the more mature and confident while still being loose and bright eyed Roxie is the best Roxie, and that was Kate. Still, all three would slay the role and I'm very excited for their future in theatre

Why do I feel so underwhelmed? Non of them capture me. I think the problem is, theres no coming back from the movie. It will always be the best version.

I thought Khalifa's dancing was very stiff, whereas Emma's seemed so natural & effortless.

The original Roxie was Bob Fosse's wife, Gwen Verdon. Ann Reinking was Fosse's lover and the choreographer of the now Broadway version of Chicago.
I'm confused, isn't Erika Jayne playing Roxie right now? Is it a different show, or am I missing something lol.
Maybe this was for the under-study? They usually have someone (these days) "famous" play Roxie. 🤷♀
They would have replaced Erika Jayne! Erika was supposed to complete her run on the 18th of March, but due to the coronavirus, she left on the 12th. If all goes as planned, Emma Pittman will likely have her opening night in September once Broadway theatres are deemed safe again to go into.

I almost didn’t see Chicago on my recent NYC trip because I read Erika Girardi is playing Roxie now. Fortunately she wasn’t when I was there. I just felt they must not care who that put in there to have that no talent purveyor of pornography playing Roxie.

honestly i find from a directors point of view its better to see overacting rather than under acting - its easier to pull back then to continuously keep pushing

Everything s fine, but let s say the truth. Since their first appearance everybody could guess who would gain the competence. One is a little plump and the other is quite ugly. They should have had to excel in the three disciplines, which was not the case.
I hope she ends up actually being able to be in the show after never being able to start next year. Also, RIP Ann
