She "spoke" more than any actor could ever speak in my opinion. One of the most beautiful scenes in movie history.

    Her performance is simply mesmerizing!

In my honest opinion, Park Yoo Rim's performance really stole the show. I have seen great performances from deaf actors, but this one takes the top prize.

I don't think the actress is deaf, and her character in the movie is not deaf, she just can't talk.

I agree. She stole every scene! In real life, she’s not deaf or mute. She’s only mute in this movie 😊

0:49 I love how this foreshadows Yoon-A's connection to the casting agent

Yoo-rim Park is such a talented actress. Her performance goes straight to the heart.

She was brilliant, every scene she was in I couldn't take my eyes off her, from the audition, to the scene in the park, the dinner at her house and of course the last scene in the play. I don't even want to know anything about the actress and other roles that she has been in, because I don't want to think of her in any other role. and she never even said one word.

@@davidsheriff9274 interestingly this movie is based on a japanese book, and the actress in an interview said that this was the role she wanted to play the most because she said she related so much to the character. And even as she was filming the movie, she thought of herself as Yoon-A and forgot her own identity.

This movie is such an incredible piece of art. This particular scene overwhelmed me quite a bit. I was captivated by the previous audition, and was expecting to be let down by this hand-sign actress. To my suprise I got watery eyes when watching this, very powerfull.

I love the movie’s concept of a multi lingual play. I’d love to see one of those one day

It's shameful that the Oscars didn't give one acting nom to this film. Park Yoo Rim would have been a shoo-in for Best Supporting Actress, and Touko Miura should have gotten a nom for Best Actress. They hate giving acting noms to Asians, only technical noms.

    • @davidsheriff9274

Who cares about the Oscars, Citizen Kane didn't even win best picture or best director. Everybody knows this was the best film of the year, and in my opinion, one of the best films ever made.

@@davidsheriff9274 At the end of the day, regardless of what you think about the Oscars, the awards are a vehicle to give much press and publicity to deserving actors & directors. That is why people care about who gets which noms & awards. For every Citizen Kane there are 20 films that should be as popular and highly regarded with well-paid actors, but aren't because of lack of publicity.
