They look amazing, a lovely upgrade, I'm surprised you don't get a little Diesel heater for you garage I've got one in mine and they are great and cheap to run 😊
A good practice is to final torque the bolts (after the fluid is bled) with the brake on so as to locate the true (prior) position, even though micro. Side note, , once used mark your pads with marker as they are removed- to return them back to correct bedded position. (I'm buying the rear HEL billet caliper.) Thanks
I did a quick search. The price difference between a 15' R1 and R1M is about £4400. For £4400 you can get full nitron front and rear suspension, moto master front and rear rotors and pads, hel perf. calipers, lines and master cylinder. Ontop off that you're getting the black frame which is preferable for most me included. I dunno the complete ins and outs of this bike but it seem like you're better off saving your money, getting the standard R1 and upgrading it coz you're gonna have to do it anyway. The R1M also comes with electronic suspension which seems like it will be a hassle to deal with since it's programmed into the ECU. Anyways, nice video, well filmed and edited!
It really depends on your use I guess, if you were to try and buy all the Ohlins, carbon body work etc it would cost a small fortune but yes if you want your own spec bike it’s probably going to be better to build it yourself as you mention 👍 For me the lighter body work, aluminium fuel tank and the ease of adjusting the suspension whilst riding is very handy especially when the resale will still be solid on the R1M as after market parts never have the same resale value sadly.. having ridden my friends 2016 2CR (which I review a few years back) I would choose the R1M everyday, from what I could see there’s a difference of around £3k on the used market. The rear cylinder is a Brembo so that will be fine pitch m10x1.0 Where as the rear caliper isn't Brembo so will be standard pitch . Brembo are the odd ones out

It's been sitting at 39.7C or 103.4F, for the last three days and it's going on for the next three days. I can't ride in the hot weather, too old now and it just tires me out. Look forward to seeing how these calipers work when you get a decent day.

The 2 extra pipes look like they go to the ABS unit. Appears to be 2 hard lines from the splitter by the radiator, going back towards the end of the bike, with a couple of braided flexible lines at the end of those.
They look great, have you got a link to your vacuum bleeder? Did you have any problems not forcing the ABS pump to run after draining the whole system? Thanks!

What makes you think that these will be better than the OEM calipers? The original is monobloc, the HEL calipers are bolted. I am curious about what benefit you expect, and what you would actually get in reality.
the billet Brembo's used on sbk race bikes are also 2 piece. a lot of compromises have to be made in order to make 1 piece callipers, whereas the extra strength can be designed into billet callipers and still weigh less than cast callipers.

Still haven’t ridden the bike 😭😭😭 With the winter I don’t take the bikes out especially with the salt on the roads, we have had some half decent weekends for January but either been working or tied up with other commitments 😫
Glad to see you’re using a torque wrench, but I must say you need to start wearing gloves when working with brake fluid! Nasty stuff. I would share a photo of me working on my V4 in the living room and smugly stating that this is how it’s done after the end of October, but I can’t seem to upload one…
