Kshs. 13 billion which is about US$130 million for a plant that will supply power to an entire county and offload excess power to the national grid. If you ask Garissa County residents who are now enjoying the benefits of this project whether it was money well spent, they will agree that it is worth it.

Garissa County and the national government are to be commended for this initiative. It is now operational and residents are enjoying its benefits. I look forward to seeing Wajir's and Mandera's solar farms. If there is one thing that these counties have in abundance, it is sunshine. It is a high time it was put to good use.
