- FRUGAL LIVING video is here! The cost of living and the price of food has increased so much that many people use a food bank or food pantry to make ends meet. The food pantry is a great resource to obtain food and household supplies. There is no need to go hungry when there are great resources out there for everyone to use, if you qualify. I encourage you to apply to your local food pantry or food bank if you need help with groceries. It's also a great place to meet new people in the community. If you do not qualify for the food pantry or the food bank then please check out your local churches as that could be another option to get help.

Food Haul & Food Pantry Hauls Are Such A Blessing To Be Able To Have
There is no shame in going to a Food Pantry, a Food Bank or a local church for help with groceries. The cost of food and the cost of living is high. If you have low-income, lower income or no income then the food pantry may be a great option for you! Inflation prices are rapidly increasing, so more people are using their community resources and programs than ever before. Using your local community resources to help offset the cost of food can help you stretch your paycheck or retirement funds further. Keep in mind that sometimes the food has gone bad. There are times I have received items from the food pantry that were spoiled. Sometimes the food is very out of date and not suitable. Please check the best by dates! If you receive spoiled items, then I'm sure it was an accident. Food banks and food pantries move a lot of inventory and there are times when the food has turned. They have a lot of food that comes through and they're not perfect. Volunteers help rotate and shelf products at the food pantry. Just keep your eye out for best by dates to make sure you are getting the best quality items you can find!
Frugal Living
I live a Frugal Lifestyle. I shop sales and squirrel away supplies for winter. I am mindful to stock up on everyday items to save money in the long run so I can pay for daily living expenses like electricity. Every purchase I make is a financial investment in my future. It could be a bottle of water or a can of beans. Part of my frugal living lifestyle is using my local food pantry and shopping at thrift stores. Each organization has their own rules and if you qualify, you become a consumer to their program so please follow their rules to maintain a good relationship with your food pantry or food bank. I still have bills like everyone else and I budget according to my finances. Although I am considered financially poor or low-income, I do not feel poor. I eat well.

HOW TO GET FOOD BANK HELP?
Contact your local churches or you can ask the county. There is nothing wrong for wondering how to get food bank help. Each county has a social services department that can direct you to food pantry resources in your area.
WHAT FOOD DO YOU GET FROM A FOOD BANK?
All types! I get all types of food from the food bank from unknown brands to name brands. Each shopping trip is different. I also get a lot of seasonal vegetables to cook with. Some food pantries offer staple items like beans and lentils, other food banks may even offer organic food.
HOW DOES A FOOD PANTRY WORK?
Every Food Bank and Food Pantry has their own set of rules, so make sure to call and speak with staff that can guide you to apply. Some go by how much money you make (income guidelines).
FOOD PANTRY NEAR ME TO DROP OFF FOOD?
The best way to find a location near you is to contact your local churches, google search it or contact social services.

So glad I found your channel.the chicken and potatoes and broccoli dinner last so yummy.when you show us the box said $15.00 so high.that’s way the food pantry is a blessing to so many. You’re is very nice one. The one in are town the people the pantry pick what they give you and bring it to you in bags we don’t get the pick any other food other than the bread and the milk. That’s why I think your food pantry is very nice. You could pick stuff you like. I got Yellow and green split peas. but I don’t eat ham, so do you know any way to fix them without adding the ham? If so, I’d appreciate you giving me the recipe. Thanks again and thanks for sharing your wonderful video and have a good week.PS I subscribed and give you a big thumbs up.
Thank you so much for subscribing to my channel! The ready to eat meals are a huge blessing. I really like them especially because I have a kitchenette type kitchen (no stove!) That's how the food pantry was for me, too, when I first began using it. They did not allow in-person shopping, but now they do. I like picking out the items! With the split peas, I think adding onions and garlic is a good start. You could even add tomatoes if you have it. I'd add a piece of affordable beef and slow cook it. Adding broth would help, too!
@@CareFreeLivingChannel that’s sounds so I will cook them for dinner tomorrow night thank you. I have a can of tomatoes with mild greens chili I’ll add it. And I have diced garlic and a cube steak meat. I can add an onion and some green pepper too. Do you know how long I should cook it three or four hours?
Cooking the split peas on it's own takes about 20 minutes. If you decide to slow cook it with the meat for a few hours then it will get mushy. I don't mind that, but some folks do. It will be more like soup! The green chilis and green pepper sound good to me!

Those arancini (pronounced ah-rahn-cheenee) are also known as rice balls. They are an Italian dish. The name means "little oranges". They are a favorite of mine. Everything looks so good, so happy you were so well blessed! And Trader Joe's crumpets are great, I haven't had them in a long while. I used to warm them and put butter and orange marmalade on them. Thanks for sharing 🙂

We get meat at our Food Pantries,. We get bags of rice,lentils, dried beans. We get peanut 🥜 butter and jelly. Lots of can goods. We get lots of produce. We are very blessed.

I thought about you today as I was starting to clean the flower beds. I looked down and there was a pot of flowers that is the same color and type that you found at the dump. It had wintered over nestled against a pot of dirt. We’ve had a warmer winter in Virginia with just a dusting of snow. I never expected anything to be living with green leaves. I’ve been enjoying your videos very much.

Condiments with vinegar do not Need to be refrigerated. Like catsup & mustard, although I prefer them chilled.Nice hall

I used to work ina deli and those beef filled potato things are delicious. Now I cannot remember what we called them.
Arancini! Yes they are wonderful! Getting prepared food items to heat and serve makes cooking a lot easier, especially without a stove. If I get a stove, I will have to map it out on paper because doing so would change my kitchen layout but would be fun to cook again like I used to.
The first thing I've noticed picking from the bag you brought home were... crumpets. And they were crumpets.
The crumpets were delicious! They are like little pancakes, I enjoy toasting them in the Air Fryer.

I remember drying my hair with the windows rolled down traveling to work.....wind blown dried hair....squeaky clean for a days work at the dairy
Very clever! I love creative ways to get the job done. A rolled down window used to be "AC" in the car when I was growing up!

Crumpets are one of my favourates. I have them as a snack or for breakfast. I usually toast then then lightly butter them (ket the butter melt into the holes) then top with finely shredded cheese. So good. They are also very good toasted, buttered, and topped with homemade jam

Hi Sara! A crumpet tastes like a firm little pancake (almost like an english muffin). It's very yummy with butter and toasted up! I'm loving the plants and having the green color in my home, starting to feel like Spring is around the corner. Have a great night, Sara!

I got it from the thrift store, it's been a wonderful winter addition to my clothing. Shopping for used clothing is so helpful. I never had a feather vest before, so it's really nice to have!

Hi Sarah, that was a great haul from the food pantry. I use to save my coffee grounds and eggshells (dried and crushed up ) and put a little in my plants at least twice a week and water as usual, maybe that would help. The eggshells will give off some nutrients for them. :) I sometimes dry my hair in front of a fan. Thanks so much for sharing!!
Thank you for your suggestion to help my plants! I added some eggshells but did not see an improvement with the mini rose. I will try the coffee grinds and see if it helps! I don't know if the rose will come back, but it's worth trying.

I always love watching you work with what you have - small space, whatever leftovers you have from the food pantry, etc. I have a few questions I've been wondering for a while: 1) who films your content? is it a friend or maybe someone with experience in filming? 2) Do you live alone or with someone? 3) you used to use a hot plate or electric burner, do you still have that? 4) do you have a job you do? Of course, many people who work still require the assitance of a food bank. Price gouging by corporations has become unbelievable.

I love food panty lunch!! I would be so excited if I were you. That day always looks extra amazing to me. And I feel you on the carbs. I am working on dropping a bunch of weight and I'm limited to about 110 grams of carbs a day right now and a lot of protein and I'm having a hard time getting in all of my protein at the moment. I just don't eat enough so having to get creative. Meat is so expensive so I try to only eat so much.
Food pantry lunches are exciting! It's good to have health goals. Carb tracking helps achieve desired results. Protein powders seem to help add that extra boost for me! Meat is expensive for sure.

Thank you very much! I wish your food pantry had meats to offer. Maybe they will in the future. The chicken is in the freezer for future meals. I'll probably make some kind of stew out of it. I like soups and stews!

As long as you leave area in container you can freeze milk- fyi Also I mince my fresh herbs add a little oil freeze them They last much longer. Flours bread crumbs bread can all be frozen
