"Geralt" already was a detective ;) That character is called Phillip Marlow by Raymond Chandler - pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Marlowe - Marlowe's character is the inspiration for Sapkowski's Geralt of Rivia. The creators of the game made a tribute to Marlow/Chandler by naming the detective from Vizima - Raymond Maarloeve :) Enjoy a new adventure, Chandler's books are great :)
a modern day witcher detective thing would be kinda dope. kinda in the same style as the wolf among us (not a shitty telltale game tho) but in a gritty modern day witcher world with dopplers, vampires, wyverns, and shit. i think you could keep most of the characters, possibly even the wild hunt as like a dirty police force or a totalitarian cia(idk) , The Nilfgaardians Sorceresses of the Lodge and Temerians as gangs or something fighting for control over a big crime ridden city. i dont know about skellige guys, maybe they kinda do their own thing and control like a long beach kinda area that no one really wants so they dont fuck with them? the witchers could pretty much be the same but like a private eye/detective of the people gild. ciri could be the same as the story too kinda maybe a little like Bright on netflix in that they want her power or whatever. (ps. nothing like Bright really cus bright was trash) if it was a show i think magicians on syfy does magic stuff pretty well. you could kinda have signs and sorceress like that mixed in with sherlock detective stuff on bbc. if it was a game (witch i cant imagine cdred making) i think you could make it somewhat similar to how witcher 3 already is but a smaller map and less combat focused, more linear, decision making with consequences like become human but more open world. idk i could be talking out my ass and this could be dumb as fuck but that artwork really is sick and it got me thinking and missing Geralt. also its 4 AM what am i doing..
