In theory if everyone only wears gloves in contaminated areas, and then remove the gloves before entering a non-contaminated area then she shouldn't need gloves there. The wearing of gloves themselves do not protect anything if they are not removed correctly and at the right time. So, if she took off her gloves after leaving a dirty area and then put on another pair just for the clean area, then she'd be risking wasting gloves.

It breaks my heart that their are thousands of RT's working side by side with Docs and Nurses and yet always failed to be mentioned. Rt's are the first one's called into a room or a code and the last one's to leave. Respiratory deals directly with intubation, ventilators, extubation and breathing treatments. Respiratory are educated and trained specialists and are in the MEDICAL FIELD. Unlike nurses that are in the nursing field. I rarely ever hear a nurse speak up and give RT's credit. After this pandemic is over everyone will know what a Respiratory Care Practitioner is.

The way I see it as a retired RN, anyone who mans the front line of seriously I'll people is already a VIP
The janitor who does a good job, the resident doctors, the people who take care of the food preparation ------the nurses aids, the folks who run the laundry, the nurses. All these people and many more, are so overworked as they help people to get well, which puts them in danger of becoming sick themselves! May God bless each and everyone who give so much of themselves! You ALL are heros Thank you all!

MMC, truly one of the better hospitals in NYC with some of the best and most compassionate doctors, nurses and medical staff you’ll find. Speaking from experience as an Ulcerative Colitis sufferer and former inpatient at Maimonides, having been hospitalized more times than I can remember. At one point in time several years ago, Dr. Ghitan was also my doctor. She was/is so soothing and warm. May God bless both the MMC staff and patients as well all the rest of those on, as they say, “the front lines” of this illness.

From one of the nurses "Every day, they bring in more of these "mystery
illness" patients. The sedatives don't stop their
delirium, so we have to put them in straitjackets
and move them to the isolation wing. Problem is,
the isolation wing is already bursting at the
seams. The director has ordered us to admit
anyone with symptoms free of charge, but what
does he expect us to do? Wish them better?
    We don't have a cure.
And that's not all that's bothering me. When these
patients die, they're not collected by the usual
mortuary teams. We've been told it's "special
handling" to prevent the illness from spreading,
but I'm not sure I buy it. Miranda saw some guys
wheeling a body through the "forbidden door"
during the night. Why? Where? What is going on?"

Those people filming are not allowed inside the actual Covid-19 wards, for obvious reasons. If you found an empty waiting room, it's because doctors advise people to not come to the hospital unless it's an emergency, and even then phone an ambulance instead of just walking in. This is to prevent people from contracting Covid 19.

Are the gloves transparent, or part of the gown? I can't tell that she had gloves on; comes outside the door, and uses her hand to close the door latch, then reaches for the hand sanitizer. Not criticizing, but as I've not worked in a hospital I'm just trying to understand the process that was used for the gloves that I imagine she actually did have on while in the room. (I did work for a home health company for a few years, just never in a hospital setting).
