Season 13 probably has the absolute best opening episode.
I agree season's 8 and 10 had great openings, but 13s openings was badass
The orchestral remix of Contact they use towards the end is my absolute favorite, and I hate that there's no full version.
Something fun that hints at how competent each member of the Reds and Blues is: Kimble didn't call for Caboose or Simmons, just Tucker and Grif, which suggests that they are the best among those who got stranded with The New Republic.
Locus's exposition is not because plot (well it is, but in canon) its because he doesn't understand Washington. He believed wash would be just like him, a "True Soldier", based on what he did in freelancer and what he did when he fought the reds and blues alongside the meta. What he found was a changed person, who found something to fight for beyond himself, and Locus cannot comprehend that someone would give up the thing that drives him just to work with idiots.
He isn't monologuing because he's a prick, he's monologuing because he is examining Wash's responses to understand him
It's funny, because this trilogy actually paralleled the tale of 'humanity vs being a soldier' story of Halo 4, the game engine they used to shoot this season.
"I can't believe his gun is now sentient" --- Well, one of these two better be sentient, would be very convenient...
And Tucker has finally learned what it is to be a leader! His story arc is one of the reasons I think the Chorus Trilogy represents the best that the writing ever got on this show. It was so satisfying to see him grow into a capable leader who was prepared to lay his own life on the line when the situation demanded it.
As a fun aside, I was watching RvB yesterday when the groceries I ordered got delivered, and the delivery guy recognised it as Red Vs Blue!

Just in case you forgot: Malcolm Hargrove was the head of the oversight sub-committee to overlook Project Freelancer. He was the person the Director was communicating with at the start of each episode in Season 6. (I'm sure you remember, but a casual reminder is never bad.)

People these days don't know how good they got it. The wait for Season 13 was AGONIZING.
Andersmith's middle name being Elizabeth is a nod to a recurring gag in various Mel Brooks films, most notably from "the Producers".
The META's theme is still one of my favourite pieces of music made for the show (not that either Trocedaro or Jeff Williams ever turned in a bad tune in their respective times on the series) it just hits so much harder.
The end credit scene plays The Meta theme. It's soo good

To answer the question, no Lopez could not always move his body independently after his head is detached. However, this is the robot body of Dos.0, which Lopez took as his own back in the canyon. I guess it's just a better model than what he had before.

@@Rykage_ I highly recommend of putting up the Subtitles again because within the first 29 minutes of season 13, Caboose will pull a 4th Wall Brake on the subtitles. Trust me 👍🏽😉

Locus has so many issues, its detrimental not just to himself but his job, he could've killed Wash and him and Felix could've taken out more of the red and blues instead of just retreating. But that would mean making a decision and taking the responsibility of his choices back.
Dr Grey is the one who put Freckles in the gun so it may only be possible if you're an unhinged genius, very cool though.

There it is! I had to be very careful in my owrding to make it seem like I was just offhandedly correcting you about the name without giving hints that you were hitting the nail on the fucking head!
Also, if you go back and watch 9 and 10 now, you will see that the soldiers Freelancer fought carry Charon Industries mugs, they were working for the chairman the entire time. The director lied to everyone and said it was "The Resistance" when in reality it was another UNSC research project that had dubiously hired security. Freelancer was the bad guys all along. they were literally robbing the government, and (this is never said, but it is my fanon that makes a ton of sense) the Chairman took over the oversight committee for the sole purpose of investigating who the fuck was robbing him and killing his security. He even personally congratulated the Reds and Blues for taking the director down, imagine that.
Also church starts his speech with "Dear Chairman" just to rub it in

In all fairness I went on a bit of a rant blaming every character that crossed my mind 😂 He just made the most sense out of the lot 😂
