I met Brian in 2006 when he came over to La Palma (in the Canary Islands) to carry out some astronomical observations for his PHD. Being a great Queen fan and also playing in a local rock cover band with some other guys who worked at the observatory, we brought along our guitars and Brian signed them! That was a night we'll never forget :)

In fact, their home was one of the many flooded there in the last week, and he shared some very sobering footage of the “sodden mess” (as he called it) on his Instagram. They’re still cleaning up and sorting out, and hoping to salvage/restore their material possessions that were affected. He has a platform and isn’t afraid to use it, and even called out officials in the area for allowing careless redevelopment that has threatened people’s lives; he was also VERY vocal about the zoning issues in the aftermath of the Grenfell Tower tragedy.
He does have a home in the country he's owned for decades. Brian's studio is there as well as May Wood, his beautiful forested area full of trees, hedgehogs, foxes and critters!

May's Wood, instead, is in Dorset at a small town called Bere Regis. They will be celebrating the tenth anniversary of its inception this September 2023.
