    All good valid points. I've been riding since1955 and have always used the old mantra that all other road users are hired assassins targeting me. That includes other riders accompanying me on a group ride.

      Wow, hired assassins. That’s pretty extreme! But I bet you’ve been pretty safe using that. Thanks again for your input, David! 💙🙏🏻

    Thanks Chuck! Good video. Can't say enough about this topic. Scariest people on the road are those looking down at their phone. Don't know how crazy it really is until you ride a bike in traffic.

      Thanks for the love, my friend! I know, right?! I have so much video, just from my camera being mounted on my bike while I'm riding, of people staring at their phones while driving. Not at red lights, but while driving. Let's ride soon, man! 💙🙏🏼

    Great video! You sure do have a lot of bad drivers in Sedona! Lol. This is why I like the back/less traffic roads!

    • @BackRoadBikerChuck
      @BackRoadBikerChuck  Před 2 lety +1

      I know, right?! Sedona has a full time population of about 10,000 people. Pretty small. But, we get between 2-8 million visitors per year. So MOST of the drivers here, by far, are slow-driving, lost tourists. I don't blame them. I've been a slow-driving lost tourist in many places in my life. Living in a tourist town, you have to be able to just let it roll off you without getting angry. I have hours of footage of bad drivers, it's funny. Thanks again for watching! 💙 🙏🏼

    When i ride i just assume i am invisible to everyone around me. So when they pull out in front of me or make a left turn in front of me or pull over into me I dont get upset because i know i'm invisable. 😊 But i have to say i have reduced most of that from happening by riding with a bright yellow safety vest on. Even when i'm stopped in traffic some people will stop further back behind me instead of almost touching me.

      @BackRoadBikerChuck  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks, PJ! I definitely feel invisible sometimes. I know a lot of people who wear vests, and I agree with you. I think it totally makes you more visible and people just kind of keep you at arms length. Thank you so much for your input! 💙🙏🏻

    Thanks for the analysis. Really well made and the advice is welcome. I have however 2 comments: on the second case you overtake on the right lane. I don’t know if where you live it is legal, but it’s certainly dangerous, especially with a driver like that. Second is more general and difficult to quantify, but as riders we should place our sight and bike in such a way as to not be surprised by other road users. I looks to me like you are reacting well, but not anticipating in accordance to road conditions. Off topic : I am about to buy a meteor. Are you planning on doing more videos about the bike? Love your videos Bob Ross 😊

      @BackRoadBikerChuck  Před 2 lety +1

      Are you the guy who called me the Motorcycle Bob Ross in another video? My wife LOVES that.
      I live in Arizona - overtaking on the right is fine if the person is going too slow in the left lane. And, being a tourist town, we see a lot of slow-driving lost visitors. Us locals generally just drive around them as they stare at the beautiful red rocks.
      I am actually planning several more bike videos, including a second complete bike review. People have so many questions after my first one, I think I need to do a second one to answer them all.
      Thanks again for your input. Where are you in the world? France?

      @@BackRoadBikerChuck yes. It was me that called you Bob Ross. I am in Toulouse, France. I see your subscriber numbers are steadily growing. I hope you can start monetising soon because the content is really well made.

      @@rodintoulouse3054 Thanks - I appreciate that! 💙 🙏🏼 Yes, I hope to get some monetization going soon, so I can spend more time creating videos and less time at my job! It's always so curious to me how people (not you) request certain videos or subject matter, but aren't willing to send me anything in return - like even buying me a coffee. I guess most people think this is a one-way street. (pardon the riding pun!) Have an awesome day, and I'd love to see some footage of you riding in France!

    It looks like there is still another car turning left in front of you that you rode through in front of.
