Even though no one should care about this... the girl I loved since I was a teenager (she was my first girlfriend) left me and then disappeared from my life. Long story short, I waited for her for 8 years, looking to find her and then She finds me in early 2019, we had a short relationship and everything went to hell, It was painful and the ghost of our past haunted us until we parted ways. I write this because her name was Julia. I always remembered Cowboy bebop from my childhood, I watched the whole thing again early 2020, and I understood too many things about loving someone who's a phantom from the past and the importance of letting scars heal before it spoils new love (And too many other things from my own life). Mind if I? There are two ways of looking at the Spike and Julia relationship. Julia being his great love. The other, Julia was a fling in which he fell for Vicious's girlfriend. She then took part in a trap to get Spike caught when she didn't show up to run away with him. As such, she was never his true lover, but an idealist dream Spike had of her. It is why she shows up again in the finale with a gun planted in his direction. It wasnt that they were always meant to be but Spike won her over in the last of the last moments. Either way, with your Julia, I hope you will be fine. Its easy to be in love with the past. Pulling for ya!
Faye mattered to Spike, but never in any way close or approaching what Julia meant. The sax string is Spike's love for Julia while the piano notes are Faye's loving, obsessive distraction and eventual acceptance of Spike's fate and true purpose. I don't think piano represents Faye's..anything. The sax and the piano both create the melody dedicated to Julia. I do agree that this soundtrack is unappreciated by most. But maybe that's a good thing.
I dont think Faye was obsessed with Spike as in love obsessed. I think Faye realized at the end the only true family she had was Jet and Spike and she loved both. She didnt want Spike to die. She knew he would die if he went alone. And he knew it too. Yes. Julia was Spike's love. He loved her dearly, but at the same time he felt more grounded around Faye and Jet. With Julia it was like it would never be peaceful even though it seemed it was when they were together. But really he was younger, and had not met his friends at that point. And that is was Jet and Faye were for him, friends, family, companions. Julia was a mix of emotions that were holding him back from truly letting go and being free, and so was Vicious. Both Julia and Vicious brought out the Spike that didnt care about others. While Faye and Jet brought out the Spike that cared. If you cant see that you didnt get the final episode.

I remember when one of my best friends died. I was a wreck... for a long, long time. This reminds me of her. But somehow, it doesn't exactly make me sad. I'll always be sad that she is gone. But now reflecting is like a bittersweet melancholy that I can lift a glass to and at least smile a little by the end. I can remember how Spike in Cowboy Bebop thought of Julia for a long time. How they both saved each other. How Julia nursed Spike back to health after his shoot out when he left the Syndicate. They both understood that this reality is just a dream. I found myself thinking of this girl Mena that I feel in love with. At least Spike and Julia knew they loved each other but Julia was under the control of Vicious and was still a member of the Syndicate. Julia was contracted to Kill Spike. I could never bring myself to tell Mena how I truly felt about her. I miss how at the Tibetan Buddhist Center we both went to a member would give me a bar of Dark Chocolate. Mena would take it upon herself to eat the entire bar. I should have told my feeling to Mena. She stopped.going to the center because she had to care for an ill father.
One of my favorite tracks from one of the greatest OSTs in existence. I always make it a habit to listen to this song & the entire Bebop OST frequently, especially on snowy/winter nights. It fits so well for the winter season & is always a pleasure listening to.

I never watched this series until the last week and wow, it really changed my mind of what a good show is, the music, the characters and everything is so damn perfect, this part and particular was precious and this piece is probably one of the best I’ve had the pleasure to hear, I guess I’m a cowboy now and glad of it

I can remember how Spike in Cowboy Bebop thought of Julia for a long time. How they both saved each other. How Julia nursed Spike back to health after his shoot out when he left the Syndicate. They both understood that this reality is just a dream. I found myself thinking of this girl Mena that I feel in love with. At least Spike and Julia knew they loved each other but Julia was under the control of Vicious and was still a member of the Syndicate. Julia was contracted to Kill Spike. I could never bring myself to tell Mena how I truly felt about her. I miss how at the Tibetan Buddhist Center we both went to a member would give me a bar of Dark Chocolate. Mena would take it upon herself to eat the entire bar. I should have told my feeling to Mena. She stopped.going to the center because she had to care for an ill father.

So rare in anime or any other art form that matter to hear a piece of music that can simultaneously make you feel every possible emotion in a relationship seemingly out of nowhere., and this is the perfect example of that. I remember watching this when it was released in 1988 ., and to this day this one piece of music brings both tears and chills

Been listening to jazz since I was a kid. Not too long to be honest since I’m turning 18 in a month, but watching cowboy bebop as a jazz fan made me adore the show and the whole vibe it gave.
when i first watch bebop i thought it was just ok cause it was my one of the first anime but after watching again and again i get that how good bebop was and this music just crush my heart when ever i listen to it i feel the pain of all charecter specially of spike and fay love the show
