    HOLY SHIT. i used to go to that park you passed. EVERY DAY when i was a kid. i KNEW it was the same park simply from the white house on the corner. that’s crazy how small this world is. i’m 3k miles away from there and found a random video on the internet of a dude test riding a bike i want to build on a street i used to play on a lot as a kid.

    I cut my rear rack off to mount a friction-drive with 4-stroke motor back there, but I actually like the 2-stroke motors better. I may go that route soon and ditch the friction-drive instead. I have another bike I am also currently awaiting parts on at present and this virus shelter at home crap seems to have put a damper on receiving things from China at present. I cut off the plastic part beneath that medallion and chucked the medallion, as well. I like the looks of this bike, myself. I ditched the fenders, too. I will have to check out the gasbike transmission plate. I really don't care to deal with them, but I suppose they are no different than bikeberry when you think about it.

      Yes I did use the original tourqe converter but I had swapped out the old mounting plate for the Cnc one that gasbike sells i also had to switch the berrings out as well which was a pain to do and I had to use spacers on the larger pully for it to fit and it works great for me since I like to take off real fast and I don’t have to worry about it breaking but it will break the chain if you’re not careful.

    Wow, looking at all these comments, I should point out the spokes will warp or rim will bend on the stock bike with the power of that engine. I had it happen to a Schwinn Meridian trike 3 times in 3 short rides before I just stopped replacing wheels and reattaching the sprocket, and the last straw was when I had a sprocket welded to the hub and it still made the wheel wag and ripped spokes right out of the rim. My rim was warped, tire was bulged, a few spokes had been ripped out and the axle was bent. I downgraded to a 25cc Honda engine, friction drive kit and Kevlar tires on a Huffy Cranbrook after that and had no problems at all, unless you count the inconvenience of drilling out 3/8" holes in the mounts for the bicycle's axle, the fact that the stock front tire got chewed and flattened in 15 miles (Bell Kevlar tires are pretty cheap and that didn't happen again), low 25MPH top speed and sluggish acceleration from a stop or up some hills. Every kit has it's issues. Anyway, it's not the frame of the steel cruiser or mountain bike frames you should be worried about. Walmart gets a lot of crap, but those frames last almost forever no matter what. Steer clear of their road bike and some of their hybrid or aluminum frames, and you'd be okay. Best advice I can give, upgrade your wheels to heavy duty or metal mag wheels and upgrade the sprocket mounting, or get a fat bike like the Mongoose Beast and put dirt bike or scooter wheels on it. Jeff probably figured that as well. Those wheels don't look stock and it looks like he went with the hub-clamped sprocket adapter. Not the best choices in my opinion, but still pretty smart considering the issues he might've had with the stock Huffy wheels and rag-joint sprocket adapter.

    They do vibrate don't they. I isolated the engine with rubber isolators and that did help some. On the carb, I just opened up the jets a tad (I think 3 thousandths on the main and used a welding tip cleaner as a file on the idle- just a little). These are great engines, makes about 9 hp with opened up exhaust and re-jetting. (you should put a muffler on that bike- the noise is annoying to people and an attractor to police- a cigar shaped 3/4 NPT mower muff works fine). Glad to see you have decent brakes. Mike

    I tried putting a 212 on a Large Schwinn frame but I modify the frame by putting on front end shocks that raised the front end 4" created problems I could not even get on the bike had to be bull legged sent the fucking thing back cost me hundred for shipping.
    But that was about 4 years ago since that time I have thru about 12, 2-stroke motors got to give up going to buy a 79 cc this week try again. I know that construction equipment motors I should get at least 20 fucking years out of it.

    41 mph? not bad for a motorized bicycle but seems a bit slow for a 212cc motor. Is it because of gearing or something like that? My Aprilla 150cc scooter is an automatic & can easily do 60 to 70 mph & my friends 250cc Honda Rebel can easily hit 80 to 100 mph tops but his bike has a 5 speed manual transmission.

      It does 50 MPH with the torque converter and it will do 70+ with a centrifugal clutch attached to it.

      A jackshaft shift kit with this motor would be awesome. You could probably do freeway speeds with that kind of setup.

    is it posable to put a 50 tooth sprocket on this motor and a 30 tooth on the back wheel and what would that do for the speed

    • @jefff163
      @jefff163  Před 6 lety

      If you’re running a tourqe converter i think a 36 tooth sprocket will go pretty fast since I top out at 48 with this one one after the belt got stretched out and I’m running a 44 tooth sprocket but if you’re going to run a centrifugal clutch I would recommend a small front sprocket and a larger rear like a 28 or 30 tooth sprocket for a front and 44 in the back for speed but a little experimenting might help to get the proper results.

    • @archielamarr2950
      @archielamarr2950 Před 6 lety

      jefff163 but I was asking if you could put a 50 tooth on front at the motor and then a 30 on the wheel that way you would almost have a 2 to 1 ratio and that would bring the speed up by a lot maybe 20 mph so 60 mph or 70 mph

    • @jefff163
      @jefff163  Před 6 lety

      Oh I see what you meant. It might be possible but I would not recommend that but it is your choice to do that I would say a 44 or 48 might fit best.

    • @jefff163
      @jefff163  Před 6 lety

      Yes you should be able to fit a 50 tooth sprocket but you’ll have to find a way to adapt it to fit as well

      umm fyi China is making almost all of the available bikes now, and some of the cruiser styles are really quite heavy steel and rigid. 6+ hp is probably pushing the limit, but really the rear drivetrain and would fail before the frame would. many are rated for a 250lb rider and we are not adding 50+lbs of drivetrain
