Sour grapes from a broken, bent and defeated man. He’ll take his trite bitterness to the grave. Appalling.

One of the biggest moments in australian rules football history.. the day Port Adelaide destroyed the spirit of the SANFL once and for all, their broken fragmented souls, directionless, forming to create one false entity in the Crows. Graham Cornes weeping for his club one minute and selling out to the VFL the next. all because of Port Adelaide, the greatest Aussie Rules club in history.

As a Victorian, I would have preferred a Champions league style comp with the Champions of each state playing off.
But unfortunately, egos won the day.

2 licenses should’ve been granted by the VFL - Port Adelaide and Norwood. Rather than creating a composite team.

it was port that opened their own pandora's box and created the crows by going about it behind the sanfl, they still have a chip on their shoulder about it.

Grave Danger isn't that how long PA supporters have been waiting for their next flag?

PA, for all its hubris and alleged treachery, has made the SANFL competition, well, a competition again, and PA's AFL franchise has, since the honeymoon concession period ended, been performing exactly as you would expect a stand-alone SANFL club to perform in the AFL. What a shame the salary cap is still needed to protect clubs in rugby states- otherwise PA would have gone broke long ago, and the second SA franchise could have gone to a consortium that has the potential to appeal to an AFL sized supporter base (not just membership). The fact that PA power was sponsored by a local trucking company speaks volumes about its market appeal. What was the AFL thinking?

lol and what dud SANFL club do you support? Whoever it is just know that they never had any foresight or brains and will always be consigned to playing in the backwater SANFL league forever and will always be teetering on the brink of liquidation, especially when the SANFL inevitably no longer have a hand in the Crows and Ports pie that they depend on so much. Have fun with that!

Weirdest thing I’ve ever seen in footy. Go into the opposition rooms to congratulate them, not to be bitter and disrespectful.

You would have to be pretty thinned skinned to be offended by what Cornes said there. As it turns out he is correct. Particularly for Port fans because as of 2016 both Ports are crap and the good times are well and truly consigned to ancient history.
