- Lyrics:
Sweet child in time, you'll see the line
Line that's drawn between good and bad
See the blind man shooting at the world
Bullets flying, ooh taking toll
If you've been bad - Oh Lord I bet you have
And you've not been hit oh by flying lead
You'd better close your eyes, aahaouho bow your head
Wait for the ricochet
Ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo..
Ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo..
Aaa-aaa-aaa..
Oh, I wanna hear you sing..
Aaa-aaa-aaa..
Oaoh..
AAA-AAA-AAA!!
AAA-AAA-AAA!!
Sweet child in time, you'll see the line
Line that's drawn between good and bad
See the blind man shooting at the world
Bullets flying, mm taking toll
If you've been bad - Lord I bet you have
And you've not been hit oh by flying lead
You'd better close your eyes, aahaao bow your head
Wait for the ricochet
Ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo..
Ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo..
Aaa-aaa-aaa..
Oh, I gotta hear you sing..
Aaa-aaa-aaa..
Oaoh..
AAA-AAA-AAA!!
Oh..
AAA-AAA-AAA!!
Oh..god oh no..oh god no..oh..ah..no ah..AAh..oh..AAWAAH!!..oh - Hudba
12 year old I was, when I first heard this. At 65 it still gives chills.
I was eleven... 😊
An undestroyable masterpiece.
51 here.I was 14 when I heard this song for the very first time.
3:19 WOOOW, Its the wonder of nature baby!🌪
I will never be able to not hear Dusty scream that.
LOL!
I'm glad you brought that up. Dusty pops in a live video of Deep Purple playing Child in Time, but the audio is this studio version. Check it out. I noticed that the first I saw Twister.
HEY YOU GUYS! WOOOO
@@Neon_Texan Das ist kein Schreien, sondern ein Ausruf der "Befreiung"
One of the best songs and solos of all time! Deep Purple was unstoppable in the early 70s!
this vocal, this instrumentality cannot be conveyed through modern songs. And they (Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep P., Guns N Roses) were able to do it.
I don't know if they can be included here (G’N’R)
a lot and i mean. a lot later final fantasy tracks. this one? the opera theme from final fantasy 6
this song is great
@@afighterinthewind Fucking disagree,Led Zeppelin never be a serious hevy metal band, only on first four albums some few blues/heavy rock tracks and rest ist total fundamentalize fucking shit!!!!!!!Deep Purple,Black Sabbath and Dios era of Rainbow, thats holy trinity of primal heavy metal!!!!!!!!!!
WRONG IS THE BEST SONG OF ALL TIME.
@@user-gm2qf3de4w One of the best heavy rock songs.. Not best song of all time.
It really amazes me that people stuff like this. You haven't heard 1% of all the songs ever written. Many were never recorded or written down. Much of the best are preserved in notes only.
It is pointless to compare songs in different generes written in different eras with different technology available to them. Just imagine what Mozart could have done with modern technology.
For me this is the greatest rock song ever written. It's the ultimate masterpiece.
One of their masterpieces for sure....From their best album
But then the ending happens.
@josiahp.6960 the ending is great
💛💛💛👍👍👍 ΤΗΕ ΒΕΣΤ
Every instrument played made it an awesome piece, but it's the vocals / wailing that made it eternal.
This might seriously be the greatest guitar solo of all time.

+THEPREZ! Stairway to heaven was considered by the majority of us rockers at the time to be the best rock song ever but familiarity breeds contempt and over the years it was over played. Actually through the seventies it was always playing somewhere on an FM radio station.
David Gilmour, Comfortably Numb
Now that guitar solo, the 1994 pulse earls court version is in my book the best ever solo, So powerful and emotional.
does any one agree with me that this is one of the most beautifully performed rock tracks of all time?

Like Mozart in Rock. Every single note is exactly were it belongs.
And in all live performances I've ever discovered, Ritchie's solos never reached again this precision.

Here I am 17 finally getting a taste of them after growing up on metallica, led zeppelin and black sabbath. Love from SA!
I grew up in Soviet Union during Cold War years. Western rock music was forbidden to say the least. My friend's stepdad had Deep Purple on 8 track. First time I heard Child in Time in 1987, I was transported to another galaxy!!! It was life changing literally
I grew up during the cold war also born 1970. This was a life altering song for me as well. My parents were hippies I grew up with this music. The cold war sucked. The Soviet Union and America where I lived were the most powerful countries on earth. We could have ended humanity but thank God we didnt. I got to visit Moscow in the late 90s and met a lot of incredibly cool people. I have lots of respect for Russians. God bless you

This band introduced me to Rock and Metal aged 6. Child in Time has to be one of, if not, the greatest prog rock tracks of all time.

This is Deep Purple's "Stairway to Heaven" or "Bohemian Rhapsody". Sadly it doesn't get that much attention. For most people Deep Purple is still "that band that made Smoke On The Water"

Sometimes, there is a certain b r u t a l i t y to be felt, when guitar solos bulldoze through the lower chakras like military inventory attacking historical monuments in the middle east...fortunately,DEEP PURPLE with Ian Gillan always returns to a more pensive mode.....however....Wagner as well sometimes bombards us with heavy duty stuff.....
Ian Gillan’s vocals are indescribably beautiful

The horror surrounding it back then came back at me when hearing it on the radio.
A psychologist suggested that I hear it again.
It is a genuine peace of rock. Good music. Very well created.
This song is criminally underrated
It has 84 million views and on another it has over 100 million! Idk what your definition of underrated is, but the numbers dont lie.
@@11celtics11 if you search best songs of all time, this song will rarely show up. I think it's at least one of the top 10 songs of all time. And Despacito has like 7 billion views, so the numbers do in fact lie.
I don't think this song is underrated. Anyone who knows and appreciates Rock 'N Roll, at least has heard of this song. Obviously, time has passed and the music has aged. The current generation is used to trash like Despacito, but in my opinion this does not justify that Child In Time is underrated. Modern TV series are made just to make young audiences aware of real music the boomers, gen Xers and early millennials want to see accomplished (running up that hill with that argument) like radio stations would have done in the past or MTV if young audiences even know what that term means to a generation that preceded them. Blessed be the Music Supervisors willing to bringing unaware folks up to speed faster than any algorithm would do without cultural context like said modern TV events nowadays. It's just funny to re-experience the joy somebody else feels of cultural history like we did back then. The weirdest kind of nostalgia, for sure, also sweet to see that everything gets passed along to the next. It's a warm feeling, you know. Enjoy it.
I'm an older Millennial, borderline Gen Xer and I can't believe I'm just hearing this fantastic song. I thought I knew most songs from this era. 1899 brought me here and I'm so glad.

Beautiful , One of the best Deep Purple songs. 😊👍
I purchased Deep purple in Rock, when I was 15. It still blows my mind! Ian and Ritchie together! Gets no better. And Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow Rising with Ronnie James, un frigging real! . Long live Real " Rock and Roll" . God bless. Paul
