Thrift stores are all getting high on their prices! It’s like they forgot what the word “thrift” meant, and must think it means boutique. But they know stuff is being resold for much more and they want to cash in on it for themselves. You can’t buy anything here for under $2, and that’s on a 50% off day. Ours are typically bare through the winter, after people’s Christmas clean out phase.
My local Goodwill has nothing under $3.49 no matter how broken or dinky. They don't do half off days. Disheartening.

You never know what you might find and although you didn't find much for yourself you found some sweet things for Aunt Penny! I love to thrift, I think it's just the fact that you never know what treasure will be waiting on your to bring home and love. So many great tips, thank you for sharing!!!

Hi Kayla! Thanks for taking us along in your Thrifting! I’ve had similar issues here in Indiana. Not much to choose from anymore and prices are getting high! I actually am finding more at antique malls; especially when they are running sales. Still good exercise and you found some great things for Aunt Penny. Maybe one day we will get to see how she changed up the swan!

I love collecting old nursing books. I have one that instructs how to flip the mattress with the patient on it.

Love your videos. I never go to thrift stores anymore for two reasons 1 - they rarely have good old stuff and I only buy old, and 2 - the prices have gone to Crazy Town. I work at an antique mall so I guess I am used to shopping at flea markets and antique malls. Keep on junkin’!

Thanks for sharing. I'm a retired nurse. At 74, I still wait to hear, Is there a nurse or Dr here? It never leaves you. I also enjoy thrifting and re-doing items.I have my mother in laws old toboggan and use it as a big shelf in the family room, which is the lodge look. It's fun and at my age ,It makes me use the right side of the brain. I enjoy following you and your Aunt on utube. Sending light and love.
Wow that son of junk man store had some service. You had your very own cat sales associate. I know people that would pay good money to have that experience. 😊

Pretty vintage jewelry is great to drape on your home decor! On a stack of books, coming out of a pretty bowl, even over a lampshade! You should give it a try! Thanks for sharing ❤. I agree America’s thrift store prices have really gotten out of hand.
I've hung some of my costume necklaces over my rabbit statuary at Easter. And then of course, there's one named Mrs Gotrocks. She wears pearls with a pink ribbon. She sits among framed "royalty " rabbit prints. You don't always have to use those wood ball garlands, although they're pretty. And everyone who goes thriftng has seen the price increases. But prices are up everywhere and it costs more to keep the lights on!
I loved thrifting with you. I have been fussing over the thrift store prices too. Goodwill is ridiculous, charity type stores in my area haven’t gotten so bad. I guess because so many people enjoy thrifting now the stores think they can get more money as well. If I am going to pay retail prices, I want a clean environment with clean and up cycled items.

I albsolutely love what you found for your aunt penny --- the fist aide book definately a neat item because you are a nurse. Your personality is perfect for a nurse -- you have a cheerful comforting down to earth personality that i just love.

All the thrift stores have gone up in price. Unfortunately they are on to the resellers so they are cashing in figuring they may as well make the profit. Although I do enjoy watching the thrifting resellers- I’m reminded that they are probably and logically the reason for the outrageous prices. Like you, I still go because of the hunt- but it sure can be discouraging at times. Gotta love a shop cat!❤

Aunt Penny's dough bowl would run $100.00 or more in an antique mall or shop!! If I'm seeing it good!
Our charity shops here in the uk are also getting high on the prices. I’ve seen bits on sale in ours that are priced higher than the original shop price and I will admit I’ve even told them so. Usually our charity shops are related to a charity like animal charity’s, local hospices, British heart foundation if they are a independent shop then they are usually antiques shops and they will be expensive. X

Thrifting prices have definitely went up.
Prices are high here too in thrift stores and I just don’t get it when it’s all donated. We expect to pay more in antique shops but not in thrift stores. Lots of people here put lots out the day before trash day and lots of furniture. Yesterday the guy across the street put out three antique bedroom sets, dressers, headboards, footboards, etc. I didn’t need them but they sure were scooped up fast! It’s a fun day out and so glad you took us along❤
All prices on everything have hit the roof. Some reasons are gas prices, wages have gone up, insurances, etc. but sill cheaper than most box stores however. I love watching her channel.

Well I don't know what i laughed hardest at.. the man pic for halloween or cleaning the cooties with alcohol😂 i love the bowl you got for aunt Penny! And I've just got to tell you cause I'm about to bust.. my husband bought me a really big surprise today.. my first piece of primitive furniture!! Its A stepback cabinet.. its old and large and chippy and I love it😁 He just shocked my shoes off, i wasn't expecting it so yeah a real big surprise! Anyways, enjoyed today's video, thanks for sharing❤

I have really seen the thrift store prices increase lately. In fact, I have seen some prices higher than the brand new price of the item.
My entire home is a thrifted or free zone….lol. I was just trying to think…I don’t have one brand new furniture purchase in my entire home. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. 😊

I’ve been confused for a while now how items that are donated triple in price. Someone behind the scenes is trying to rack up evidently and during high inflation too. I think they call it price gouging 😂
It’s ridiculous though. I stopped donating to those places, they aren’t helping people. I try to find someone that will really appreciate what I have and just give it to them. Makes more sense to me.

Yes, the Little Cahaba River is my happy place❤ My hubby and I float it almost every weekend in the summer and have the majority of our memories there🥰
