    Can`t stand how they make Jani less important. He was an addict but with drugs, booze and problems, he was the one that make Warrant a known band. 95% of the songs they play live were written by him. They should be more respectful. Thanks to him they still have a way of living.

Outdoor with a limited covered are with just big ceiling fans it was miserable but Fire House & Warrant killed Trixter never did anything for me so I didn't pay attention. Why do Sates/ Cities that have such hot miserable summer conditions have outdoor concert arenas . Houston's is The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. I have been a lot of times to Concerts their and they all were miserable to some degree . I like to drink beer back then but had a beer in one hand and water in the other since it was so stagnate hot you never stopped sweating so had to hydrate between beers as to not pass out from dehydration . They even have Triage tent's for people that over heat . I'm a Native Texan love this State but they do stupid thigs like this and now that I'm older no way I going to sweat all night I want AC and a decent seat to cool down on preferably inside . The Summit which became The Toyota Center was made for Concerts and I got to see all the big bands of the 80's from there and it was comfortable , loud and cool & comfortable . I remember Dickens reunion and their dysfunctional album. Sold nearly a million records. It's not 90s music but certainly a step into a different direction. And 20+ years later the music is still good. Their next album I cant recall the name. Their record company made them make a grunge record. It sold I think 250k and the ppl who bought it hated it. Warrant's producer Beau Hill stated during the recording of DRSFR, he pulled their manager and said Joey and Erik's playing wasn't on par with Demartini, Van Halen, etc. He had a meeting with the band and asked to bring in a studio musician named Mike Slamer. He only recorded the solos. Joey and Mike did play on the first album, just not the solos.
      Slamer taught both how to play the solos for the tour. Aftwards, with exception of Cherry Pie (C.C. DeVille) and the intro to Uncle Tom's Cabin (Jani's brother) they played all the music on the following two albums.
      This is directly from the producer Beau Hill.

    • @bubbatha
      @bubbatha Před 4 lety

      @@bryancox7751 Not true at all. Slammer played all the guitars on the record, not just the solos. Thats why DRFSR sounds like 1 guitar played the songs. Because it was. They played a few rhythm guitars and a few solos on Cherry Pie and Slamer once again played the rest of the guitars. On Dog Eat Dog in the credits the Producer explicitly said that only the musicians listed played on the record. The reason he did that was because Beau Hill always brought Slamer in. Slamer said he played all the guitars on DRFSR. I like the band as do you. The records are great. Just enjoy them and don't worry about the fact Joey and Erik never played on the first one and hardly played on the second.

  • @visionop8
    @visionop8 Před 4 lety

    Why do these guys always refer to the alt-rock scene as "I wanna kill myself". That's so weird. He's wearing a Johnny Cash shirt who wrote some pretty damned depressing songs while saying that lol. Why do they never see that what really happened was that the 90s brought in new young people who weren't raised on that stuff and after the Rodney King thing and the police arresting N.W.A. for lyrics, music as art got a little bit serious? People didn't suddenly change their minds about rock and roll. They kept loving it. It's just that they got responsibilities and kids and mortgages and such and a new group of kids started buying CDs. Sure when I was 12 in the 90s, bands like Warrant and Winger looked a little ridiculous to me. But as we got older, we went back and began to appreciate their insane levels of musicianship and even began to copy them through bands like Avenged Sevenfold and Bullet For My Valentine. We respect and love these 80s bands. I think they all just took it the wrong way because the MTV and CD buying demographic changed from their core fans averaging 5-years-to-30 and doing different things with their disposable income and a new group of 12-18 year olds discovering music. If anything I would blame our youth worshipping culture that thinks new music is only for kids and once your not a kid anymore its out with you and in with new. They were victims of marketing. You wanna beat the system? Be David Bowie or Prince or Rush or Nine Inch Nails. You will kill through your career because you aren't tied to a sound or decade. These guys seem like they're really cool. They should experiment and be unafraid to try new things.
