Shelby, seeing you do things like this makes me so HAPPY. YOU got yourself here and it shows. Ive been watching you since 2011, when beauty gurus were all the rage, I used to watch your videos about makeup, gymnastics and it was always filmed in your blue or purple room( its been a while) Ive watched your journeys throughout the last ten years and seeing just how far youve come is inspiring. Your filming style and how far youve come with filming in general, is so great! Keep going girl, we will be here to support you!!
Thank you soooo much for watching over the years! It does feel kind of crazy, first class always seemed out of reach growing up!
That was such a long praise of someone you have never met
@@goldenboyi1989 if i recognize someone’s success, i will say something
@@26fitch it was really long-can u praise me too?
@@goldenboyi1989 i sure can golden boy
I flew to Hawaii on a buddy pass (from a Delta employee friend) during the pandemic. There were so few passengers that I got upgraded to Delta One on both of my flights!!! The sad part was that because of the pandemic there were no fancy meals being served. Instead they gave us as many of those box meals and snacks you usually have to pay for in economy. The Delta One pods are so cozy especially with the plush pillow & blanket. I slept for a few hours on both flights. I’d never had the experience of being able to sleep on a fully extended seat/bed. It was especially appreciated on my flight home since I took the red eye that leaves HNL at around 10 pm.
From a person who travels a lot, Delta One is actually really pricey for what it is. While Delta may consider its "One" class a first class product, it is an American airline, which means Delta One is more like international business class. Delta itself is one of the largest American airlines operating both international travel and domestic travel, but its first class product is similar to that of British Airways business class and Qantas Airways business class, which is fairly cheaper than Delta One. However, great to see you try new aviation product on your channel and a switchup of the usual vlogs. Keep going!
Agree - U.S. based airlines are not really about the pampering. This is comparable to int'l business class on LOT Polish, with slightly more privacy.
I honestly feel Shelby seems to glow and be most vibrant and be the best version of herself...when she is relaxing on high thread count sheets in first class with a glass of champagne and watching Netflix! This is the best version of shelby that we admire and appreciate!
Thank you so much for your intelligent and useful comment.
What the fuck
I was just looking up Delta One flights to London and Egypt just for pricing ideas earlier this week and then had considered looking it up for South Africa after talking with coworkers yesterday! Perfect timing for the video!!! Thank you!
Very interesting video! Ive always wondered how the miles/points system worked. Id love to see more videos exploring this topic!
I was on this flight!!! I thought I saw you but wasn’t sure! Hope you enjoyed South Africa!
Thanks for not gate keeping this information. I am looking forward to using cc points to travel. Hope you enjoyed your trip.
LOVED IT! Thank you Shelby. I'm new to your channel but your videos are becoming favorites of mine.
Thank you so much!
I loved this video it was so fun to see you travel and doing something you've always wanted to do! Keep up the great work!
I absolutely love this channel. You make me wanna take trips like this
Love this video Shelby! I really enjoy your content, can't wait to see the flight from London.
Thanks for making this video Shelby! I live a 10+ hour flight from almost anywhere international, so always looking for ways to improve the flying experience. Coincidentally was just looking yesterday at different credit card options.
Great job. Really good detail and overall information.Appreciate the information.
This video was so fun to watch! Flying is one of my favorite things because there are always fun adventures that they lead to!
Really good information on how to get good deals on flights. Thanks for sharing 👍 🥰
Phenomenally told, great job Shelby!
You always do such a great job on these review type videos and kudos on your narration, which was clear and enthusiastic. You rock!
I have to agree with you about Delta. Thank you for sharing about your travels and how to make it that you don't have to spend much but get such a value . Again a wonderful video Shelby!
Can’t wait to see what you make of London (if you vlog the trip) ☺️
Enjoyed this video, thanks!
Really helpful and great information, brilliant video thank you 😃💛
Your videos are high quality with so much information to learn from. I want to learn from you on your story telling techniques and how you take B-rolls :) Keep it up, Shelby!
Delta First class seems more like business class on some of the international airlines. Also, rates for using your points will change based on when you fly, how much of a layover or stops you have, etc. We are planning a trip now on AirFrance and business class can cost anywhere from 77,000 roundtrip (if I am willing to switch airports!) to 235,000, based on the day I fly. Also, while you can book AirFrance business, you can't book first class with miles unless you have platinum status, which means 4 flights.
Thats correct.
It‘s a business class
It's business class. Delta does not operate first class. Delta One is businesss class
@@dominick6131 This is incorrect. It all depends on the airplane and where you’re flying to. When flying domestic US, it’ll likely be First Class as their premium class. Internationally (or to/from Hawaii, depending on the airplane), it’ll likely be Delta One as its premium class.
@@penguinswithwifi domestic first class is not first class. It's just a larger recliner seat, so it doesn't even meet the standards of business class. It's just a play on nomenclature to trick customers. Domestic first-class is basically the same as International premium economy
Much like a killer whale is not a whale. It's just a play on nomenclature. And Guinea pigs are not pigs nor are they from Guinea
@@penguinswithwifi No US airlines offer a true first class. Delta One is business class and despite domestic narrow-body flights being marketed as having "First Class" that would be considered business class in any other country.
Great vid & info! Keep up the vibe.
You are the one CZcamsr that keeps it 100% real. I love your honesty. Everyone does actually.
Agree 👍
Thank you!!
liking and commenting for the algorithm. you always do great work, Shelby!! your channels are literally the reason i even watch youtube these days.
Would any other tuber be this open Shelby you're awesome.
Been considering the chase sapphire card thank you 😊
I hope you have fun in London Shelby,a little cold this time of year, stay safe keep smiling much love ✌️❤️🇬🇧
Awesome video, Shelby! Really helpful tips.
Great video!
Hi Shelby, just a small btw. While Delta One is a premium product it's actually classified as a business product for international flights. Delta's technical first class is only available on domestic flights within the US. 👍🏽
This is a great video, Shelby!!
This video really help a lot thanks 😊
You guys are coming to London?!! That's fantastic! I'm sure you don't need it but if you're after any suggestions do holler! Think you'd love Ev cafe in Isabella St/The Cut - it looks sketch until you get there! And top floor cafe outdoor balcony at John Lewis is a nice place to decompress in Oxford St. Can't wait to see the vids!
Great info! 🛩
Very interesting video, it is interesting to think of airline prices. Many complain about the low service for airflight, but this video shows what the prices would need to be if we were all to pay for the luxury service. I will also have to try some of those credit card hacks. It gets hard because I usually miss a step somewhere and miss the deal.
Love this!!! So helpful so good to hear a women talk about these things not just a man! Please do more !!
Hello thanks for your vidéo and your tips!
Can you do a video about how to research flights and find transfer partners???? I have the points but having a difficult time navigating the transfer partners😊😊❤❤
Thats the best way of flying commercial. Thanks for the review and if you need some sound to sleep during flight, you can use my one
Love this video Shelby, I love seeing what first class flights are like, thank you for sharing 🤩💜
What movie were you watching?
My partner and I will be flying Delta One on our longer leg flights to Paris from NYC for a work trip from his company and this was super informative!!
Following your channel from the last two years, great content. Interesting! >3
Great vid Shelbs
Hope you can enjoy your trip
I love your voice. I could listen to you talk about anything.
Definitely a dream of mine to fly first class! One of my goals for the future. Thanks for motivating us to live our best lives
I always knew first class was fancy, but I didn’t know it was THIS fancy!
Great video!
Except this is business class not first class.
Delta One is business class. Looked like a great flight though!
This was a great video, Shelby-ball. Great tips on those flights. Your soggy egg was gross though.
5 years ago when Delta changed to allow one way miles booking my friend and I got this two one way to and from London (one on delta and one on virgin using delta website) for only 70k each way. Flights and miles trips are so much more than they were pre pandemic. That said I just got two new CC to accumulate some more miles since I am going to the olympics next year and of course cannot fly in coach 😅
I took a flight from Atlanta to Cape Town. It was an exceptionally long flight where we only stopped at Cape Verde to refuel for 1 hour. After a long flight, only thing I was thinking was - OMG, I am in San Diego.
I think one way you can measure if you are using points efficiently is to calculate your cpp (cents per point), then compare with the average cpp for the airline/hotel.
wow this is unique and original content. we need more of this!! /s
Hi Shelby, If you liked that flight you should try Air France Premier it will blow you away! Are you still writing on Medium?
Thanks 4 the research. Good 2 know.
Amazing video!!!!
looks a lot like a flight on Lufthansas I had in 2012, quite nice for sure.
I’m glad I’m seeing this a few months after my work made me fly economy NYC to Hong Kong 😭 talk about uncomfortable!
Love your videos! You should try an emirates one next! Those seats do look like a mattress!
The sapphire preferred welcome bonus going up on March 19th so wait on that if you plan on applying!
I have flown Delta international and the hand towels use to be warm! Miss those times😂
Great information!!!
Are there any power outlets by your seat in first class?
I did the same. But I break down all the points for different trips just economic class fly
Cool, that private room is highly appreciated
4:46 I like that it’s all nice and modern and down to earth and not over the top „luxury“ as emirates or something
The food looks good. Do they serve the food only at a certain time?
Yes want more info
I like your videos, watching from Africa.
Excellent presentation thanks 🙏 in 😅God speed
Best regards from Ibarra Ecuador
Fantastic video as always. But DL One is business class, not first. Of the US carriers, only American offers International First Class
And AA is phasing it out.
I’m going to Kenya soon and hoping to fly Delta One
Go Shel!!
I’m still confused how to book a flight using points. Do you book it from your bank website or from airline website?
I want to get one of there credit cards now!
You need to fly Emirates First Class, I've done that at least ten times now and it never gets old!
Depending on your bank account and the type of airline you choose and the offer , luxury at it's best
Thanks capt obvious
Smart lady! The sapphire card just gave me 80k for a new card. Great info
Hi Shelby, can you book a flight using three different bank credit cards; that individually wouldn't cover the cost of the flights and still earn points on each card? If so sign me up, lol.
Try a first class on a non-US airline when you can. Singapore, Cathay, Air France. It'll be a very different experience from the Delta One. 😊 Great job with this video!
Could not agree more with you! Once you fly international carriers instead of the domestic ones that do international routes, you'll never go back to Delta, AA or UAL for overseas flights.
Great tips
Too bad I have no plans to fly anywhere anytime soon
Love seeing more women taking advantage of these perks and how to get the seats🎉
Is it possible to get an american credit card if I am only on holiday in the us? Non us citizen ?
Do you get to keep the headphones?
I got upgraded a few times to fly this. The sleep quality is way better the food not so much tbh.
I wonder if I have an airline credit card with points than get an Amex with points can you use both points to book a flights or only with that one airline you have the card with? Using both points
Nice video! Showing Delta business class April 2023 at such a bargain. Cheapest Delta flight every month after is 390K miles and 333 bucks. Better jump on that offer now. I already got my ticket.
It's not very surprising that First Class flights to Europe cost more, as British Airways, for example, has a proper First Class. In contrast, Delta One is a Business Class and nothing more. For instance, BusinessElite was renamed to Delta One. Delta makes it a bit confusing with the names, by using "First," but in the international comparison, Delta One is considered a Business Class. A proper First Class can be found, for example, at BA, Lufthansa, or Emirates.
So interesting I’ve never tried any other airlines first class!
@@ShelbyChurch yes it is. I can really recommend to save your amex points and try other airlines😀
@@ShelbyChurch you should try Emirates and Qatar Airlines
Can u do food tour
This was so interesting, thank you! You missed out on mentioning the capital one venture X card!! I opened it up last month to start earning points for my upcoing europe trip later this year and it's great. 75k signup bonus points, 10x the miles on hotels booked through the portal, 5x on flights (though I don't plan on booking flights through the portal) and 2x the points on everything else. Each year they give you a $300 credit to put towards travel which brings the annual fee down to $95!! I'm hoping by the end of my europe trip I'll have enough points for one way business class tickets on emirates from europe (or at least from dubai) to australia! I also have some chase points from my freedom card so good to know I can transfer both capital one and chase points to emirates and use a mixture of both!
I wonder how long it would take to run out of cards offering bonuses. If you close out a card, can you apply for the same card again a year later and get another bonus?
I churn through a few million points per year from sign up bonuses on credit cards and do 3-4 business class trips per year and I am very impressed by the level of research you put into this video. Everything was on point and is the best video I’ve seen teaching how to do this to a beginner. It’s always interesting to see how people get into this game!
I'm curious as to how signing up for so many credit cards affects your FICO score. I would think that it would impact it negatively. Does it?
@@jamiecloud1897 No it's actually good for your score if you pay everything off each month
what credit cards are u using to get millions of points with credit card bonuses? and don’t they limit how many times you can get a bonus on a credit card?
Are the credit card points on a 1:1 ratio with the actual points of the specific airline if that makes sense? Or do you get less airline miles for your credit card points
Hi!
The food looks really good...
1:15 imagine doing that in cattle class
I'm considering Delta one for my trip to Ghana
