As a program planner who relies on UIDs and dependencies for a well networked schedule I REALLY appreciate being able to bring these features to my own Notion system and projects. 🙌🏽

How can I sync these IDs with the previous custom IDs?
For years we have been using the number field as ID, and if I turn on the new ID field it assigns numbers randomly to the DB records. And that means we have messed data.

I don't know how to solve this problem but my suggestion would it be for you make a "transition".
Create the Notion ID property and:
A - For new entries you now start to consider the new IDs (by Notion) (Keep the Custom ID blank, for this entries)
B - For old "currently using" entries, you start referencing the new Notion IDs exclusively and blank the Custom ID field once you have become accustomed to using the new IDs.
C - For old "Not using" entries, I would recommend keep it as it is. You'll only change this ID if you need this entry again (then you do step B)
The only actual downside is having two "IDs" fields. And that's not too bad.

@@MrDavi2751 Exactly what I did at that point of time, still in migration period. After that I'll keep the old ID for all the references (commits, Merge requests, WiKi, etc.) That's the biggest downside, we need to double check which reference ID to use (old or new). Thanks for the help!

I wish they can add an option to formulate.
because before there is unique ID property I used to make unique ID by using Formula property.
    I do it this way [prefix] + [D] + [M] + [YY] + [-] + [Time]
    example : SL040723-0211
with that ID alone it tells a lot about the data. SL is short for Sales. and is done july 04, 2023 at 02:11PM.
